Very nice aerials. Notice how quickly the density drops beyond Manhattan.

great pics

its weird but this first pic makes new york look smaller than i have ever seen it - without all the eastern parts being shown...

^^^^ i know what you mean. It sort of throws the whole megalopolis thing out the window in some respects the country side looks so close (but its technically not.) (that particular image sort of reminds me of Montreal). But i think the buildings in Lower manhattan really make the scale mucked up? (if those are the right words) by comparison the the rest of the city (excluding Midtown etc.) But maybe Manhattan would seem larger if the buildings were mostly lowrise-ish....or maybe not.

amzazing pics really like the 2nd pic (the one taken from queens.)

Flash, thanks for capturing my birthplace in such a great way!!! I loved every shot and I hope that next time I visit NYC the day will be just as clear as it seems to be in your photos, so I can take some of my own. Excellent work :okay:

I forgot to comment on the photo below. Three downtowns for the price of one: Brooklyn, NYC and Jersey City!!!

Now here is a question for you, Flash: Did you steal our One Progress Plaza and took it to NYC? In the Manhattan section, check out the 3rd major tower from the left ;)

Maybe it looks so small becuase all the pics are meant to capture large portions of the city disminuating the impact of single buildings.

Yeah, but these pics were taken in 2007. I know there are a bunch of new buildings that were built since then. Do you know where you can find some updated ones.

Wow incredible!

They look small because you're not taking into account all of the millions of streets and skyscrapers... they look tiny from so high up

Excellent series!

How hard it is to get ATC clearance for this type of operation? Do they just let you squawk 1200, watch for other traffic, and fly around at your leisure... or do you dial in a specific transponder code and get flight following services? Eve if you are ID'd, how often do you need to check-in with the EWR, LGA or JFK towers?
