huge progress on the cladding

With so many office towers going up, how much are pre-leased? What is the vacancy rate? I hope it will not be like Beijing with many see through (vacant) buildings.

Taken today from my window. Cladding is approaching the top. With 2 new floors a day, I expect the cladding to be done by the end of april.

^^ damn, the block of houses that are in the way of this CBD don't look too old. it would be a real shame to demolish them just to make the CBD look good, and the gov knows that. However, its just in the way!!!

^^ They are quite old for Chinese standards. Around 20 years but they won't be demolished so soon as they have just been refurbished before the Asian Games.

They removed the orange rail used to install the cladding so far.

^^ one of the best cladding. Simple and elegant. We need more claddings of this kind. And I love the stripes!

They tried out the illumination on the lower part of the building today. White lights on the diagonal stripes. I walked by but didn't have my camera. Hope the lights will be on tomorrow. I'll get some pics posted here if they are.

Can't disagree. It's like quality filler. Doesn't stand out but certainly doesn't ruin the view either.
