All the designs are are great but I like the one designed by hittier worlwide the best

Hittier for me too.

Don't like MURPHY/JAHN's proposal.Hittier and Dimarzio/Kato have better designs IMO.

don't really like any of the designs, theyre so plain, they don't really make use of the fact this is gonna have supertall height

I rather like the Hittier proposal myself.

I like the last one the most, because this one seems to have a deltaflyer platform. :banana:

I prefer the Leo and Dimarzio/Kato designs, and the Murphy design is my least favorite (not that its bad, just bland like a "filler" building), so that's too bad.

I like the Leo Daly design the best. I'm not a fan of the crooked style of the Hittier.

But that was better than the design they chose...not very original, IMO.

progress seems to be a bit slow since ceremony has the snow got anything to do with it... the building is so so and wasn't my fav but at least its above 300m and you never know they might build the other proposals in another location instead

this is my first time seeing this one. amazing! i love the blue!

seems there really only seems to be two types of colour suitable for a building these days blue variations or green and this one adds to that collection but i like it though

at least the current. sure, it is boxy and the design is not very special but i think it will look good in the skyline

I think it will look OK beside the skyscraper just side by side this plot, as they both have those stripes. Other than that its like taken out of the 70's.

Im far from impressed and im being pretty nice. And its not because its boxy, boxy skyscrapers are space effective and I dont think they will ever get "out of fashion".

Hey, do you know whats happening in the middle of this area? there are two big holes on either side. Will there be more buildings? From the renders, i thought the area was supposed to be a garden

Even if its going to be some kind of park it can very well have an underground shoppingmall, or parking space etc under it. Just my guess though..

wow, this building and the pinnicle is rising at an incredible speed. Pearl river seemed to have slowed down and west tower seems to be mainly interior work these days. I really miss GZ, the last time i went, the tv tower hadn't had its spire up yet

^^ That shot is taken from Pearl River Tower, wasn't it? LP looks still tiny from there. I count that the core is at lv41. Thread title says there'll be 60 floors, but the tower clearly isn't >2/3 up = >200m tall as of now. But of course one shouldn't forget the "roof winter garden".

On the other hand: on the render there seem to be 8 segments of 9 levels each, thus 72. Let's count the roof segment as 1 floor only. Furthermore, on this September 24th pic by fosk (http://image215.poco.cn/mypoco/myphoto/20090925/00/52698820200909250007041302028943611_070.jpg) it looks like the lowest 3 levels make one floor. But still there'd be 72-8-2 = 62 floors then, with construction at 39th floor now.

If that's true, I get ~172m as the current height, presuming all levels will have the same height. I guess this won't be exactly... but the esteem of 172m sounds reasonable to me.:cool:

And maybe there are some technical levels further up that don't count as floors, so that the roof is floor 60. Correct?

Too much false info from people who "work for the projects", especially in those forums. I still remember that troll in ss.cn that said once and again than the Shanghai Center would be revised to 800m~, and a lot of people trusted him. I have a similar feeling for the pearl river tower. Is there any link with the Asian Games? I know there is a sort of restriction for private construction or renovation the months before the games.

It's really a pitty. The cladding on this one was incredibly fast until it sudenly stopped.

Yeah, cladding doesn't exactly lead to a lot of dust or pollution. In fact, it leads to a better appearance in the CBD

The buildings nearby (BossSunwen & The Pinacle for instance) continue rising which is more harmful to the air quality than cladding so it's hard to tell what's going on. Maybe just some trouble with the cladding supplier.
