This project is supposed to be u/c and will be finished by 2009. I'll post pics of the plot later if I find some.
Sbz2ifc March 24th, 2007, 09:13 PM ^^ Hmm... I see a NY Times Tower look-alike in the last picture
Other than that... this tower (Yuzhou) looks decent.
z0rg March 24th, 2007, 09:24 PM ^^ It's NY Times Tower in fact. The guy who made the render took that because he probably didn't know or disliked the real design of that project :)
tiger March 24th, 2007, 09:30 PM ^^ It's NY Times Tower in fact. The guy who made the render took that because he probably didn't know or disliked the real design of that project :)
The developer of the tower has not decided the design infact. All I know by far is there will probably be a tower 300m+ on this piece of field.
z0rg March 24th, 2007, 09:35 PM ^^ Isn't it Yingli Tower's plot?

Cristovão471 March 25th, 2007, 08:34 AM hmm cool, this building looks a bit sinister.
Skyman March 26th, 2007, 02:24 AM Like the design
ROYU March 26th, 2007, 04:29 AM Looks nice.
Joel que March 26th, 2007, 06:05 AM with the enactment of private property law in China, several propose skyscraper project may be stall due to the threat of suit.
one project in in chongQing, may already feeling the heat, several former inhabitant ,where the house were demolished to make way for the super tall, already filing suit against the real estate developer.
FM 2258 March 26th, 2007, 06:08 AM I like the garden aspect to it. :)

some_stupid_nut June 12th, 2007, 01:57 AM Renders are a bit different. I like it a lot though!

Sentient Seas June 13th, 2007, 11:46 PM Looks promising enough.
Imperfect Ending June 16th, 2007, 11:22 AM looks like a really tall church

Muse July 25th, 2007, 03:41 AM ^^ Oh no! Bring back the evil gothic-looking 1st version. That one is soooo dull IMO :bleep:
...but thanks macpolo! :)
FM 2258 July 25th, 2007, 03:43 AM Honestly I like the new version better but it looks like Chongqing has a tendency to drastically change building designs as seen in the J.W. Marriott building. I tend to like boxier buildings.
beaujoe July 25th, 2007, 04:03 AM Can we steal the old design and build it in the US then? :) I really liked it. I think it would fit in great here.
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 05:23 AM Honestly I like the new version better but it looks like Chongqing has a tendency to drastically change building designs as seen in the J.W. Marriott building. I tend to like boxier buildings.
EXCEPT MARRIOTT CENTER, others r not like this
because the time i post this building ,it was just getting started, they were just beginning to organize all the ideas, nothing is final ,look at the time,it has been only 5 months, this is really quick enough to get a final
in fact you guys r watching it from its very birth
even after the final design, things still can change ,look at chicago spire ...how many times after final?
until now, none of those pix appear in any newspapers or official site, its still a business secret, i got those from a designer ,thats why some pix r really huge like 20Mb one pic.....of course, its forbidden to post...but i just like to share:nuts:
so does Fortune Plaza, nobody knows it exists ,they still think its the 210m version which has been designed in 1998 and stoped from 1999
as for marriott center ,they only know 377m version, 398m version never appears in any paper,we just know it early, thanx for all the men who is helping us secretly:banana:
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 05:28 AM wait and see
Fortune Plaza has some new designs, ill post it the time i get it, should be today,he promised me
Kame July 25th, 2007, 03:27 PM mhhh the new design is kinda boring ... such a design would fit for a german town (even though it's too high to fit in any german skyline) but a chinese skyline needs something more futuristic were you can put millions of neonlights on and stuff ;)
Sbz2ifc July 25th, 2007, 03:53 PM True... the old design was better.
Mr. Alloy July 25th, 2007, 07:27 PM I agree with everyone else. The old design was almost creepy looking, but it certainly had style. This new one is just a box with some design elements at the top.
I suppose the new design has more floor area.
ZZ-II July 25th, 2007, 09:23 PM the final design is nothing special, but i like it
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 09:46 PM i dont
cheap looking
i wish they can change the cladding ,change the top
why not a clean box?
that would be perfect for a skyline like chongqing's
Muse July 25th, 2007, 10:55 PM I don't think the new renders are looking good. Kinda poor-ish quality (but thanks again macpolo) - a bit faded, so I think the actual construction will look far superior. Even though I still prefer the older design, propotionately the newer is definitely better. The previous design had fantastic detail for a modern, but looks stumpy for the tower component. The newer does look a lot sleeker and will represent its height in a much better fashion.

TOLTALLY AGREE
old design is really nice except the height
a gothic tower like that should be much more higher to make its shape more suitable
for the new one,i wish i could believe its because of the bad quality of the pic to make it look so cheap
in fact this is not the rendering for public
so i believe there will be some better ones for us to judge the details
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 11:10 PM oh ,i have other 2 pros for this ,wait plz
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 11:18 PM voila

macpolo July 25th, 2007, 11:22 PM these 2 r only 220m
there r 8 others design,but i can't get those pix
at the very first beginning, this tower suppose to be only 180m and twins
then they add the height for 9 times, change the designer twice ,change to a single tower
so now its the 308m 76f not so boxy ,not so sexy tower
Muse July 25th, 2007, 11:44 PM voila
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/macpolo/20068102157654885.jpgThis one is suffering from the same problem as the gothic design. Terrible proportions.
The 2nd one looks funky. Boxy but OK proportions.
I think the tower in the new official renders has best proportions :okay:
Thanks again macpolo.
macpolo July 25th, 2007, 11:52 PM pleasure is mine
i thought i had another one ,just cant find it
close to this tower,is fortune plaza ,331m,boxy
they will look like twins
in the middle

Þróndeimr December 25th, 2007, 07:14 PM So whats up with this project?
I like this (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/macpolo/20068102157654885.jpg) proposal, but its too low, and a copy of ICC in Hong Kong. The second proposal looks okay too, but the facade doesn't look too good.
z0rg December 25th, 2007, 09:09 PM ^^
Yuzhou Hotel: 308m, 76 floors. Another of the long awaited supertalls in Jefangbei, Yuzhou Hotel rebuilt was expected to reach just around 200m at first, but the project was revised once and again to reach 300m. Final design probably unreleased.

Cristobal_illo December 3rd, 2009, 11:24 PM ^^Now looks taller than the Chongqing IFC.
If the Chongqing IFC will have 431m. I think that this one will hav more than +400m.
z0rg December 4th, 2009, 12:00 AM ^^ The CQIFC is further away, that's why it looks shorter. On the other hand the roof height of the one behind/on the left is 350m. So yeah, this one may be around 400m. Anyway in this kind of renders they often "exaggerate" the size of the project. And we don't even know if that's the final design :)
Cristobal_illo December 4th, 2009, 12:04 AM ^^I agree
z0rg January 29th, 2010, 01:25 PM The new design is out. Two proposals. One of them has 380m, 76 floors.
