This is the main project of Jialing Tiandi masterplan. Minor towers are already u/c.
Main tower is being started within 2007 as it was announced by Chongqing mayor.

I'll post updates later if I find the pics.

There's already a tower in Chongqing alike the shape of Jialin fanying,and the tower you posted looks like something cheap.

Again,I don't think the design was decided.

Hmmm main tower seems to have 36 sections of 3 floors, total 108. The final height should be far above 400m. Just guessing.

Second tower seems to have around 55 floors.

They are planning another 3-5x200m+, huge cluster. What a pity it is so far away from the city center, I wish they built this in Chaotianmen instead.

my friend who is working for the gov went to a meeting of Shuion Land,they released the final version of JLFY,he told me that the height is not really decided yet but for sure its over 400m,cos'they have a huge competition:CSP project,ASE decided to make csp from 330m to 400m(thats new!) so the final height of JLFY is going to wait CSP

Office floors: 4.5m x 63 = 283.5m (I included skygardens, which look to have the same height)
Hotel floors: 3.4m x 30 = 102m
Hotel public spaces: 6m~ x 2 = 12m
Crown: 30m~

Total: 100 floors and 457.5m
The final height will be 458m I guess.



For the second tower, I counted 52 floors and around 258m as long as the crown is about 25m high.

in fact ,the plot for JLFY is on the right side,which has been cleared already,but the construction has to wait sometime,the plot in the middle and left is for these amazing chinese style street,very old chongqing look, which might be the most lux street of chongqing,ive posted the render before,and in the shuion land official site,they just add another one

新天地——现代生活新概念

当记者问起重庆新天地与罗康瑞的成名作——上海新天地的差异时，罗康瑞认为上海以石库门为背景，是一个体现上海传统历史文化和现代生活形态的综合场所。而重庆目前还没有一个真正有价值的集现代生活、工作、休闲为一体的建筑项目。

As a centerpiece of the Tian Di Master Plan, the Chongqing Super High-rise Tower project will provide a synergy of uses, including office, residential, retail and entertainment to bring energy, activity and value to the site. Inspired by the sailing ships that once plied the waters of the surrounding Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, the ChongQing Super High-rise Tower’s lightness and graceful form is expressed both in the simple form of the tower and adjacent low-rise towers and retail podium, and further through the towers’ façades.

A central public plaza at the center of the project site, situated between the main tower, retail podium and low-rise residential and office towers, acts as a place of assembly and meeting. Transformable structure gives the ability to provide shelter for events, and elevated platform edges provide a panoramic view of the Jialing River. The ceremonial drop-off and formal entry landscape at the south end of the site are integrated with the central plaza through continued use of paving to soften the edges of the project landscape and allow for emergency vehicle access.

The two smaller towers—a low service apartment block to the east and a mid-rise single use office tower to the west—have been placed on the site so as to minimize cross viewing between each other, and have been scaled to relate to the height of the buildings proposed for the adjacent sites. All three towers employ a similar, but not identical, architectural vocabulary to visually reinforce one another and provide identity to this first phase of development.

The planning and massing of the 4-story retail podium has been conceived to take advantage of the two distinct frontalities on site, again taking influence from the sail form--developed to look almost like a piece of sail cloth blowing in the breeze. The south face of the podium is developed as a continuous street wall, meant to pair with the future development across the street and to provide continuity to the scale of urban fabric. More critically, the podium has been developed with sky-lit atrium/arcades that pass from this south façade through the retail elements to an external, elevated promenade facing the river. This public amenity, raised above the roadway that runs along the river's edge, will give spectacular views and provide space for a dynamic mix of entertainment, retail, restaurants and cafes.

The curtainwall design aims to instill a sense of movement and lightness, consisting of glass that envelops the curving form of the towers and sloping inwards as they rise adding to the organic feel of the structures. This form also helps to minimize light contamination, as the light hitting the exterior surfaces will be dispersed rather than concentrated. Constructed of repeating 9-meter modules with repetitive patterns of vertically-linked double-story units, the framing emphasizes the double-curved form of the tower and suggests the tension of sails in the wind. The glazing will be of high performance IGUs, with a mildly reflective coating (roughly 20% reflectivity) on the second surface of a lightly tinted glass.

Some good news back, but not on the ICC. Silverstein's going to build the 500 metres supertall in Jiangbei District@plot A13, which means ICC can't be the highest one before/during/after his construction.

How exciting!!! But when will Jialing Fanying start construction?

They said 'maybe this year', but I've reading this mantra for 4 years.

:ohno: even as a hardcore CQ fan here , I'm sick of chongqing's projects' progress . they're way too slow,has way too much bubbles, way too many changes <the height reduce ...etc>

Chongqing gave us too many disappointments. Back in 2007 it had no rival, now so many cities caught up concerning solid proposals :(

Maybe you should change your signatures now that there are no longer 20 supertalls in Chongqing after most of them got their height reduced.

at the year of 2011 we have 8 200 + topped out,not a bad year

Just imagine how much this tower will dwarf the nearly finished tower next to the site. That building will be probably a quarter of the height of this mammoth. Nice to see the first steel columns in place too.

For some strange reason today was actually the first time I looked at this thread. This is actually a pretty sweet project, I have no idea why I didn't check it out earlier!

^^Same!!...But I swear I saw this design before. Must've checked out what it is, that would've lead me hear a long time ago.

one of my favorite things that the chinese are doing with their glass towers is this; if you're going to do a glass tower why not texturize it. the chinese accomplish this beautifully. this building is no exception.

Chongqing already has an amazing skyline, but it's nice to see it finally getting a good sized supertall. Hopefully similar developments will follow this.
