Hopefully this project will make SFU a little less sterile.

sweet!!! but i prefer to see that used as future academic space rather than residential. we lack schools here in this province already, and yet the schools here don't seem to see the need to reserve space for future academic developments.

yeah its a good point but there is still a good amount of surface parking that they could redevelop. also they seem to be doing most new SFU space outside of the burnaby mountain campus like in surrey and at harbourcenter

Wow......finished at SFU in 2000.....hadnt been up the hill until i rode up there last summer. Unreal the changes over the past 7 years, but they should definately funnel some of the cash from the condo's into more student housing....or maybe they are, and i just havent heard about it...

There is not enough parking at SFU. Most people who don't live anywhere close to transit, who don't win in the "parking lottery", have to pay rates around $10 a day.

i dont drive so it doesnt matter to me. although you can just park anywhere near the bus and ride up for free on the U-pass that you pay for anyways.

well, this applies to UBC especially.....i don't really see that much space left for future academic development there. i'm not so worried about SFU.

UBC or SFU -- there's plenty of room for academia growth. As a comparison, UCLA has twice the density of UBC, but only half the physical campus size.

It's all about smart growth and densification.

ubc is nuts went out there the other week - its like condo **** now

right next to some of the old dorms are condos going up
