I love this building. Has a big presence DT. The landscaping/ plaza on the ground level remain to be done. This is supposed to be very nice from what I recall seeing in renderings.

Anyone seen or been to The Cactus Club Cafe, the $6.5 million glass cube at Bentall 5?

Yeah, article in the Globe and Mail on July 23 talked about it. Chef Rob Feenie opened a new flagship restaurant for his chain of 19 restaurants at the Bentall 5, described as "a massive, $6.5 million glass cube sparkles like an oasis in a parched desert of office towers".

I know that there were plans for alot of money being spent at the street level grounds of the Bentall 5.

Feenie has no ownership interest in CC. He was simply brought on to retool the menu as a "food concept architect".

I was wondering, are they going to brand Bentall 5 again (with the Bell logo or some other corporate sign)?

I don't understand why they didn't go with Bentall 4's maximum height.....they could've gone much higher but didn't.

I certainly hope they do. The tower looks so naked and bland without anything (much like the new Bentall 6 will look). Someone on here said the Bell sign came down because Bell moved out a while ago. But people I know who work in the tower say Bell is still there. Hmmm...

It's nice to see that the restaurant attracts large crowds at street level (even on overcast days, the place seems to be packed with people indoors and out), but I don't know if it "sparkles like an oasis".
