you are right morocco doesn't have the reputation to be a party place in the world , but it's pretty animated in all main touristic cities, casablanca, marrakech, agadir and rabat and many big dj's come regularely to morocco specially to marrakech

Are clubs generaly frequented only by the upper-class or is it a universal thing in Morocco (when social classes are concerned)?

Is there any other form of nightlife than clubbing? (such as in Madrid you know, where the people just go down on the streets at 2 am)?

clubs are in general frequented by upper class and middle class, but also there some cheap bars that are frequented by lower class
other than clubbing there is jamaa fna in marrakech wich is a vast place with a lot of entertainement , and of course in the summer people stays in cafes and outside or at the corniche very late at night

That's cool, I'd gladly visit if only it was not so expencive lol

from paris , if you take a package is very cheap is like 300 euros a week
or there are cheap solutions like taking the train to south of spain then take the boat from there to tangiers , it is a 30 min trip from tarifa, then you can go around in train, which is comfortable and cheap and stay in economic hotels like ibis 3 stars which costs only 30 euros a night

Many pple in the East know very little about Morocco. It remains one of the most progressive and westernized muslim countries, while being proud of its historical heritage and civilization!

i hope oneday i will visit Morocco, nowadays North African countries like Morocco, Tunusia, Egypt are very popular holiday destinations in Turkey. i know some friends who visited Morocco before, they talk about how authentic and beatiful Morocco is...

I personally believe Morocco is the most interesting destination in North Africa due to the mix of its historical civilization and its great coast touching the Mediterranean and Atlantic. I guess the main advantage is that it has a richer culture and history, but all of North Africa is great area.
The Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia) is extremely nice due to the infiltration, development, and influence of Western Europe. In Morocco (Spain and France)

Turkey is very popular in Morocco too. Recently there is great trade with it and people are visiting it because it is cheap to visit and also recommended destination (monuments, beaches). Also, no visas are required for Moroccans and Turks to visit each others states in addition to the charter planes between both states @ 250 Euros. Hence, I feel both pple will get to interact much more.

Does anyone know if there are any clubs in morocco that play mainly hip hop and rnb? It looks like house music everywhere.

It is true that House music is most common in the major clubs. Nevertheless they also play RnB, hiphop. They generally have special nights for this, although weekend would be more electronic music (perhaps with some amount of rnb as well)

That's just a stereotype. You should read about Morocco and go visit it so you can see the reality. In the world, there are two kinds of Muslim countries. The first kind is very conservative (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan ...). The second kind, however, is very open and much more free ( Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey etc)
People who are unfamiliar with the region unfortunately put everybody in the same basket. That's why reading and traveling is important!

je crois que depuis l’ouverture du Pacha Marrakech, le Maroc s'est peu à peu transformée en destination de choix pour les clubbers du monde entier...mais j'ai l'impression qu'avant les boites arrivaient à garder leurs clients au moins trois ans, et là le grand maximum c'est 6-9 mois et tout est venu du phénomène des one night clubs qui a bousculé nos habitudes noctambules

It put me off to know that gay venues over there are places where people usually go looking for prostitutes... Obviously here there're also places like that, I mean, more "hardcore" bars, but what I was actually refering to is that kind of gay/gay friendly club which is popular among both gay and straight people cos the place is good, the atmosphere is nice... you know what I mean?

And a thought for everybody, if you really want to bring I don't remember how many million tourists to Morocco, you will have to tell people like Bitme to be more tolerant... you can't have the money of the tourism but despise the values of those who come to your country, people travel to enjoy the experience, not to feel insulted and rejected.

Actually the truth is that most Moroccans go to clubs and bars with the principal objective of getting some. And the other spectrum is to show off.
As a result, you will see that the dance floors are not always going... I think the mentality of pple is still a bit different from Europe where pple go for the music, DJs.

According to a recent study:

9% of Moroccan population goes out/parties regularly. in other words, this constitutes a population of 3million people. This group spends between 30-60dollars/night depending on the venue and person.
This group is also divided into tw different factions. The first comprises a population between 18-25years old. The latter are generally interested in clubbing.

I think that generally the middle and upper class in Morocco are very westernized, so nightlife and other habits are actually very normal among Moroccans...
Secondly, I dont think the religious background of the Moroccan will be determinant in whether someone goes to a nightclub to have fun or not. Of course some people might, but thats not a strong correlation.

It might be different in other countries in MENA area, but I think Morocco has a much bigger secular and tolerant tradition. Similarly, with the Western influences, colonial period, high number of tourists, and high number of Moroccan students studying abroad (top 10 most students traveling to study abroad for university in world), large population in Europe...
As for the number of tourists, it would obviously depend on the time and city. Evidently, there are much more tourists in Marrakech and Agadir than Casablanca and Rabat so it would be logical to foresee that a larger proportion of tourists would exist in those cities and in high tourist season time than in the opposite situation.
