Breaking news:
The work on the Mubarak center is temporary closed due to shifting of the contractor Bauer from the site. or there can be also reason link to some financial issue right now facing in Dubai too. but i can see this thing into positive manner because like before 5 months or so the contractor make the things like hell and wants to get out as quickly as it does, and that's why the work on the site is jammed from last 5 or so months otherwise the super structure would start from now. hope they can hire new contractor as soon as possible and start the whole project with so much speed. the news is 100% true and come from some responsible source i cant courted their reference here for so many reasons. lets hope 4 the best and just pray together.

hey dear don't be so dis heart u know last year on 8th of February the first pile was made and after just 7 months they can reach close to 1300 piles. the contractor made their record in the Pakistan by adjusting 12 piles in a day n we all know that one pile should take at least 7 to 8 hours so they can made multiple piles and one pile at that time cost 1.2million rupees.so they have spent a lot of money in this project and definitely they are serious too built that because one day i was there with the workers and delegation come to visit the site work they all were very curious to know each and every problem they have faced during their construction and trying to eliminate it as soon as possible. and as i said earlier me is ko positive le raha hoin so hope for the best yar.

Finding a new contractor takes months. For a project like this they have to find an international company and that would take time.

Too bad as this would be the most beautiful skyscraper in Pakistan, probably all of South Asia.

my dear testing of material and the site location that where the pile is going to be fit and take the load of the whole structure. so all the machinery needs to be at the site until and unless the raft would be covered and the super structure will start. and at site the main tower called as Tower A. and then so on.

UMMI is like LAQ...a name of a forumer.
SSC=skyscrapercity.com (this forums)
and just in case MP=Mehfil Pakistan (this section)

Regarding this project, there is no construction activity but also no news of the project getting shelved. IIRC, there was some news of the project being on hold because it is a ME investment company and they have been hit hard by the global financial crisis. I think once the global economic situation starts to ease, some of these projects will continue.

Lets wait till further news.

Actually, I think it is an old shot because if you look at the color of the machinery in the hole, it is all blue which was the color of the machinery initially employed by "Bauer", the company hired for the piling work. And as we all know, Bauer is long gone along with its machinery so this very well might just be another old picture.

Punjab govt’s vendetta devours mega projects

LAHORE: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q and former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has alleged that inappropriate attitude and lack of interest on part of the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif forced the foreign investors to leave.

In a statement issued here, Pervez Elahi said during his government agreements were made for billions of mega projects including that of Sheikh Mubarak Centre.

He said he worked day and night to plan these projects and convinced the investors. “But all these projects were consumed by the flawed policies of the incumbent Punjab government and its retaliatory attitude,” he added.

Pervez Elahi pointed out that Sheikh Mubarak Al-Nahiyan Company has scrapped the project of building tallest and biggest trade and residential complex in Lahore. The tower would have been visible from across the border in India, he said.

well the land is their so if musharraf comes back it should go ahead.

no need to blame them for scrapping projects as no one wants to invest billions when corruption is at sky high level and you have the worlds biggest criminals in your goverment.

brightside.
