I find that picture funny, only because after all those buildings are built Downtown, the LAUSD still couldn't finish Bernstein High School (the building under construction in the foreground!)

That first shot you did, the night photo, is amazing. It would be so cool if our skyline looked like that... maybe a in 10-15 years it will.

I think the thing that makes it look cool is the 'skinny' buildings. LA doesn't really have any tall skinny buildings. skinny buildings always look taller.

Also, do you guys ever think about how it would have been kinda cool if they still had a height limit in LA, and instead of building 7 or so skyscrapers in the 80s they built tons of mid-rises? Then our skyline wouldn't look so out of proportion and we probably wouldn't get as much crap for "not having that big of a skyline."
I really don't think people can gauge height from pictures or, hell, even on the ground. The fact that our downtown skyline is so dominated by a few tall tall buildings really makes it look like we don't have that many buildings.

I would definitely give up having the tallest building on the west coast for a much denser shorter skyline.

It would look like a bunch of 13-story buildings, and City Hall. :ohno:

wow. i really wish our skyline would grow. los angeles is the best city in the world but we have probably the smallest skyline in proportion to the size of our city. maybe a billionaire will help us build one :ohno: :( :( :( :(

You've never been to Europe...London has like 4 high-rises. Amsterdam has NONE.

LosAng, those are great. if you have time, can you add a few fatter towers and a couple shorter ones to fill the gaps? maybe you can do a realistic one using available renders that we have so we get a good idea of what Downtown can look like in 5 years? the forum would really appreciate that.

I would like to see some taller talls. I mean CC deserves something a bit more tall than the current twins.

I'm all for some more height than just sprawling mid rises.
