slinker June 22nd, 2003, 01:32 AM Thanks everyone! *accepts trophy and sprays the champagne on Gothicform*
Actually I felt that using a panorama was cheating a bit... much harder to capture an interesting shot in one frame.
I took some other photos that morning, including this from nearby:

This was taken from the other end of the Gold Coast (northern end):

Vertigo June 22nd, 2003, 06:19 PM Congrats! I think it deserved to win, original idea and a great panorama...
TYW June 23rd, 2003, 11:39 AM congratz to all the winner
jada June 24th, 2003, 04:17 AM Great pic! I love the effect that the scrolling had on my senses. First the image appears as a simple "man on beach" photo.. but as I scroll right, I get this adrenaline rush!! That is what a photo should do!!!
JayT June 25th, 2003, 05:57 AM Slinker, fantastic pictures!!!
You should post them in the Australian forum, they are great!
Did you take them yourself?

lokinyc June 25th, 2003, 10:02 PM I had no idea the Gold Coast's skyline was so big. Question, is that the city the was the fictional Porpoise Spit in Muriel's Wedding?

Whoever or whatever I am, yeah I took the photos with my new toy, a 5 megapixel Canon S50 digicam. Small enough to go in your pocket, but 3x zoom is a bit weak.
