^heh.

Nice. Winter Park has a lovely charm to it... probably my favorite Central Florida city. I hope to see more development like this...

That's quite a bit of stuff going up. I don't know that I'd recognize the place.
Keep us updated.

These Winter Park developments are wonderful--I especially like the Douglass Grande and the Landmark. It would be nice to see more of this kind of midrise construction in the Orlando city limits. Winter Park is truly one of Florida's treasures.

Just like Hyde Park in Tampa without the Tampa City Council.

Very nice.

Excellent - good to get that sort of thing away from the normal locations

I wonder if the residents around Interlachen will come out in opposition of the JW...i could see them trying to kill this like they did the Carlyle project.

Park Place (pictured above as the last photo in my prior thread) was the subject of much local scorn last year.

Panera Bread opened up over a year ago in the NE corner. Since then, the other four retail parlors have landed tenants as well:

1. There's a European antique furnishings retailer which sells antique furnishings from all over the world.

2. There's a wine & cheese shop

3. Jacobson's moved from down the street into the building; much smaller though

4. There's a pop-culture memorabilia shop as well; for example, they sell Yoda's gimmer stick in the 5-digit range for all you Star Wars buffs.

so, as of the holiday season 2008, Park Place is a success in light of this bad economy.

Also, there's a construction wall at the old Jacobson's location; I gather they will bisect it into multiple retail units.

As of now, Park Ave. retail seems to be doing strong. I can't believe I live in WP and this weekend was the first time I was on Park Ave. in several months. That's what happens when you work and dwell in downtown Orlando too much...
