quite tall...but mainly because of its spire...again...tiz is the most luxurious hotel in the world...and this curved like building suits this hotel too...standing on its own island far away from the Dubai city makes it stand out soarly....okay...good....i love the hanging restaurant on top of it below the spire...and the helicopter landing area beside it...good placement

i wish i can stay one night thr...feeling the comfort out of the heat thr on the desert....but too costly..im not rich...

A masterpiece. No matter how much they make a building have a similar shape, nothing will duplicate the perfection of this design. One of my goals before I age much is to vacation in this hotel for a few days. I wouldn't want to stay too long, or I would probably never want to leave.

Costs so much to stay there.. luckily the firm that invited me paid for a week :D i really didnt want to go home.

I am a little bit confused about rating this building. I like the exterior-design, but know how it looks from the inside (through pictures) and, damn, thats ugly, it's near uber-kitsch. So, are we supposed to only judge a building concerning the outside or also the inside?

Speak to any architect and they'll say they hate it! It's cheesy... but THE most important building in Dubai. I'd stretch to say that it practically sparked off the major development (in recent years) in the city, turning it from a naff desert town with a few towers into a BIG naff desert town with lazily designed buildings and more focus on height than quality. The image of the tennis court makes me smile though, so I won't rate it too low :)
