Maria police chief relieved MALOLOS City — The chief of police of Sta. Maria, Bulacan and five of her men were relieved from their posts after two brothers who were nearly decapitated at a police checkpoint filed criminal charges against them. Supt. Lailene Amparo along with Police 0fficer 3 Danilo Dela Cruz, Police 0fficers 1 Manuel Mendoza, Joey Babaran, Ericson Lacsamana, and Jernie Gonzales was charged with robbery, physical injuries, illegal arrest and human rights violations before the Provincial Prosecutor’s office here Friday. They were relieved pending result of the investigation. With gaping wounds on their necks and other parts of their bodies, Chris Vadizno and his brother Robert, both working as mechanics, were accompanied by ABS-CBN news anchor Julius Babao and the crew of his program “XXX” to the Bulacan Criminal Investigation and Detection Team here. Chief Insp. Marlon R. Santos, provincial officer of the Bulacan CIDT, said the Vadizno brothers complained that on the night of June 28, they were cruising Barangay Lalakhan in Sta. Maria town on board a Yamaha Mio motorcycle when three policemen shouted at them to stop. The complainants said that when they were about to pull over on the side road, another group of policemen positioned ahead of the first group raised a rope that hit the neck of Chris, causing them to crash on the pavement. While they were sprawled on the ground, the policemen approached and at gunpoint, handcuffed them and frisked them. The brothers added that one of the policemen fired his gun and then took their money worth P40,000 and cellphones. source: http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/news/provincial/8579-sta-maria-police-chief-relieved Santa Maria, Bulacan July 12th, 2011, 02:53 PM tsk tsk.. Santa Maria, Bulacan July 12th, 2011, 02:56 PM Sta. Maria is one of the cleanest towns/cities in Bulacan! CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, July 12 (PIA) -- As a finale of the Environment Month, residents of Pulilan town showed what they have learned little by little in the name of waste segregration and cleanliness. The people of this town learned that the segregating their organic and non-biodegradable wastes, putting these in bamboo-made trash bins, soon pays off -- realized that the discipline pays off -- they have . This propelled the agricultural municipality of Pulilan to best other towns in seizing the Pinakamalinis na Bayan/Lungsod award for this year’s second quarter given yesterday at the Bulacan Capitol Gym. The quarterly awarding of the cleanest town/city hailed winners the towns of Pulilan, Bustos, San Rafael and the city of San Jose Del Monte for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th districts respectively, and the municipalities of Calumpit, Plaridel, Norzagaray and Sta. Maria. Pulilan Environment and Natural Resources head Tes Tetangco said the practice of hanging plastics of trash was “totally eliminated” in the town. She said the bamboo-made garbage receptacles encouraged proper waste disposal. Tetangco added that aside from the town’s material recovery facility (MRF), each village also has barangay eco-parks which serve as the sorting and composting area of organic wastes. As directed by Republic Act No. 9003 or the Solid Waste Management Act, non-biodegradable wastes will be brought to the MRF for recycling. “We have a schedule for garbage collection, and our barangay eco-parks have been turned as vegetable gardens. The people become aware and learned to segregate wastes,” said Tetangco. The chosen municipalities received P30,000 and a plaque of appreciation, while the runners up received P20,000 and the plaque. Winners were chosen according to the following criteria: Responsiveness of local government units to environmental programs (10%); Effectiveness which tackles the implementation of their programs (10%); Participation of the community, (10%); and Result of the activity which sought the impact of the programs to the community (70%). Included in the areas inspected by the award-giving body Bantay Kalikasan Task Force were the roads, canals, public markets, restaurants, gasoline stations, parks, and cities or municipal halls. source: http://www.pia.gov.ph/?m=1&t=1&id=43032 lebronjames06 July 12th, 2011, 03:39 PM Sta. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said yesterday the bypass road will stretch 7.53 kilometers from Barangay Bulihan in Plaridel towards Bustos town. It is being rushed so that it could be finished within this month. “The completion of the project will solve problems in traffic overload and delay in goods transport,” said DPWH undersecretary Rafael Yabut. The project was awarded to three firms, including M. Pancho Construction Inc., J.E. Manalo & Co., Inc., and D.M. Consunji Inc. Yabut the said multi-million project is funded by a loan agreement between the Philippines and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, through the DPWH-Philippine Japan Highway Loan-Project Management Office and Katahira & Engineers International. “The road will be built 30 millimeters thick, and seven meters wide with 2.50-meter wide shoulders on each side,” Yabut said. He said the project covers the construction of “six pre-stressed concrete deck girder bridge and one reinforced concrete deck girder bridge with a total length of 241 meters.” “Drainage facilities and slope protection will also be installed,” he added. He said the project is being rushed so that it could be finished by the end of this month. http://punto.com.ph/News/Article/11641/Volume-5-No-33/Headlines/P543-M-bypass-road-starts InformaticIAN July 15th, 2011, 04:28 PM STARMALL SAN JOSE UPDATE AS OF JULY 15, 2011 (sensya sa quality ng pic) http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j88/Josephbc/ssc/15072011224.jpg saintm July 15th, 2011, 11:07 PM STARMALL SAN JOSE UPDATE AS OF JULY 15, 2011 (sensya sa quality ng pic) http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j88/Josephbc/ssc/15072011224.jpg thanks ayan po ang inaantay ko :) InformaticIAN July 16th, 2011, 02:17 AM sensya na, nasa bus ako nyan kaya mejo malabo... william :D July 16th, 2011, 02:29 AM http://www.upvery.com/98809-the-mrt-7-project-the-new-super-city-colinas-verdes-araneta-station-vs-40-000-working-filipinos.html The MRT 7 Project, The New Super City, Colinas Verdes, & Araneta Station vs 40,000 Working Filipinos Posted May 13, 2011 by Lupang Hinirang The negative side of the MRT 7 project that the Philippine government hides from its people. (UpVery.com) May 13, 2011 -- The MRT 7 is one of the primary projects of the Philippine government today. It will be composed of 14 stations from North Avenue in Quezon City through Quezon Memorial Circle, Commonwealth Avenue, Quirino Highway, and San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan where the Philippine government plans to build the new "Super City." The first 12 stations will be built in Quezon City, while the next, which is the Tala Station will be located in Quirino Highway, Caloocan. The last station, and the first one outside Metro Manila will be near Colinas Verdes Subdivision. It will be named Araneta Station, after Greggy Araneta, owner of Colinas Verdes. Here they are planning to build a high-tech inter-modal terminal for vehicles from North Luzon to South Luzon. At first it looks like a clean project that really thinks about what is good for the people. However, if you dig deeper and consider the motives of the people who pushed it, it will actually do more harm for ordinary Filipinos than good. The first problem is that the project will cause a sudden appreciation of the lands around it, especially those that are near its stations. Most Filipinos are currently opting to buy lands and houses near Bulacan and Cavite where they are still affordable to the working class, and where there is still a lot of land available. If the cost of these lands blow up, ordinary Filipinos will be congested in places that they can still afford or move farther away from established financial districts. According to some buyers, lands in Colinas Verdes are at around 4,000-7,000 pesos per sqm, and houses built on it should not be less than 7 million. It will surely increase once the project is finished. Only a few Filipinos can afford lands that are this expensive. Another thing is that, currently, 40,000 Filipinos in Pangarap Village, which is the town adjacent to Colinas Verdes, where the last station will be located, are about to lose their homes because Greggy Araneta is grabbing their land in preparation for its appreciation. He has resorted to harassment and illegal demolitions to own the land before the 2013 deadline of the project. People in Pangarap Village fear that the Philippine government is purposely ignoring their cries for help because of Greggy Araneta's influence, and the impact the completion of the project will have on Noynoy Aquino's image. There are also obvious manipulations on the decisions of the Supreme Court regarding the case. The battle between Greggy Araneta and the residents of Pangarap Village has lasted for about two decades, but it is only now, in Noynoy Aquino's term, that the Supreme Court is so quick to decide that the land belongs to Greggy Araneta. The people of Pangarap are now on an all out battle for the land they cultivated, where they built concrete homes from blood and sweat, and where the government, using millions of people's money, built halls, schools, and a large covered court. It is true that the MRT 7 Project will make the Philippines look more economically stable. It is also true that it will make Bulacan and NCR a lot closer to each other. However, isn't 40,000 working Filipinos too much to sacrifice for a mall? Wouldn't it be pretentious to build a new "super city" while your working people are homeless and landless? Don't you think it shameful to let the world know that we are selling our people to rich businessmen? If only the government planned this project for the majority of Filipinos, instead of coniving with the rich and powerful to ensure their profit, it would have been something our country can be very proud of. The joint venture group of C.M. Pancho Construction Inc., J.E. Manalo & Co., Inc., and D.M. Consunji Inc. has commenced work for the road project traversing Barangay Bulihan, Plaridel toward Bustos, Bulacan. Costing P543 million, the project is financed under a loan agreement between the Government of the Philippines and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the DPWH-Philippine Japan Highway Loan-Project Management Office (DPWH-PJHL-PMO) alongside with Katahira & Engineers International implementing and supervising the project. The project involves Portland-cement concrete paved 30 millimeters thick and 7 meters wide with a 2.50 meter-wide shoulder on each side. The contract includes the construction of six pre-stressed concrete deck girder bridges and one reinforced concrete deck girder bridge with a total length of 241 lineal meters. It also includes the installation of drainage facilities, slope protection works, and other miscellaneous activities. DPWH Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, together with Assistant Secretary Emil K. Sadain, Project Implementation Officers for Official Development Assistance-funded project, said that work is in progress in areas with an initial set of permits to enter, as Secretary Rogelio L. Singson has directed for them to expedite construction activities to accomplish the project before the loan closing period of July 2012 . To expedite the project, continuous meetings and dialogues with concerned land owners and representatives from the DPWH Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office are being conducted in order to resolve road right of way problems. Meanwhile, construction of a new interchange and ramps along North Luzon Expressway in Barangay Burol, Balagtas, Bulacan, under contract package 1 of the Plaridel By-Pass Road Project, has reached 83 percent completion to date The project, under contract with E.C. De Luna Construction at a cost of P1.570 billion, also involves construction of a toll plaza and a reinforced concrete box underpass as farm crossing, concrete paving of a 6.87-kilometer roadway traversing the municipalities of Balagtas, Guiguinto, and Plaridel, and a 2.40 kilometer access road to link with the Philippine Japan Friendship Highway or Daang Maharlika, the national arterial road connecting Central Luzon to the Cagayan Valley Region. The construction of the steel arch toll plaza, the supervision of its building and including its facilities and bridge interchange, is in accordance with the specifications of NLEX operator, Manila North Tollways Corporation. The completion of the Plaridel By-Pass Road Project packages 1 and 2, which is part of the Aquino administration’s vision of easing traffic congestion along the vicinity of core urban areas, is expected to reduce travel time of motorists and commuters bound for other parts of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and the Cagayan Valley region by 20 minutes. dpwh.gov.ph william :D July 16th, 2011, 06:25 AM ^^ yung C.M. Beltran SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY, July 15 (PIA) – Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo today led the awarding of housing units to personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a ceremony held at the Heroes’ Ville AFP/PNP Housing Project site in barangay Gaya-Gaya, this city. Robredo said the awarding of the housing units is in line with the efforts of the present administration to provide peacekeeping personnel, including the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), decent and affordable housing. President Benigno S. Aquino III, said Robredo, is keen on making PNP and military personnel feel they are important not merely in the discharge of their functions as protectors of peace and order, but also make them feel that they are important to the government, worthy of providing their needs as citizens needed to be assisted by the government. Initially, Robredo awarded certificates of entitlement to lot allocation (CELA) and house keys to 14 PNP personnel. The Heroes’ Ville housing project is just one of the four housing projects being established in Bulacan to cater the housing needs of the peacekeeping forces. The project is situated in a nine-hectare lot which will accommodate a total of 2,000 housing units. The project started on April 15 and targeted to be fully completed on October 15, this year. Architect Elizabeth Joseph, project manager of the National Housing Authority (NHA) shared that the Aquino administration is subsidizing the selling price of each housing unit with P35,000. Original selling price of each house and lot unit costs P175,000 Joseph said “beneficiaries will really not feel burdened with the monthly amortization of P200” for the each housing unit. “Plans are in the works also for the establishment of school buildings and livelihood and multi-purpose buildings in the community,” Joseph added. Two elementary school buildings, one high school building and a livelihood center will be built in the community by 2012, it was learned. Meanwhile, SPO1 Nancy Villarosa, one of the housing beneficiaries, in an interview, was teary-eyed in extending her gratitude to the President for what she called as “gift.” Villarosa, who has been in the service for 18 years now, said the awarded housing units will give ordinary PNP personnel like her an absolute break from renting, which, she shared, really drains her meager salary. Other PNP personnel awarded with CELA at Heroes’ Ville were:SPO1 Sherwin Arihzol; PO2 Valentin Tacbian, Jr.; PO2 Sonny Galzote; PO3 Victor Aborro; PO3 Rolando Balocating; PO1 Frolando Bardillo; PO2 Edilbert Mangapit; PO3 Oscar Abad, Jr.; PO1 Jose Ciervo; PO1 Melyon Licudine; PO1 Elchito Del Rosario, Jr.; and PO1 Jimson Guimbongan. Aside from affordable and decent housing, Robredo revealed that the government is looking into increasing the hazard pay of personnel of the AFP and PNP from P260 to P500. Garcia BOCAUE, Bulacan, July 15 (PIA)-- It took 31 years of service before SPO4 Myrna Cruz finally received the fruits of her labor, and this time, she gets a house and lot. President Benigno Aquino III awarded Cruz, together with 19 other recipients from the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines, the key to her house today at Brgy. Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan. The first batch of houses under the AFP/PNP Bocaue Hills Housing Project was granted to 20 qualified personnel of the security workforce — 10 each to PNP and AFP. Cruz said her 31 years of service to PNP has finally paid off. “Sa katagalan ko sa service, ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon para magkabahay (After long years of service, it is only now that I have been given the chance to own a house),” said Cruz. Cruz, currently stationed in Camp Crame, said she picked a housing unit at Bulacan because the location is near Manila, and that many of her colleagues also have chosen units here. Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said he never saw a project like this intended for the security personnel in his 37 years of service in government. According to the National Housing Authority (NHA), the 30-hectare lot is planned to be built with a covered basketball court, livelihood productivity training center, health center, day care centers, elementary and high school buildings, wet and dry market, tricycle terminal, police outpost, and a material recovery facility building. SPO1 Marwin Mabilangan, also one of the recipients, said the qualified police and soldiers were fortunate because of the subsidized housing units. He picked a house and lot here because his wife lives in Sta. Maria, a nearby town. Mabilangan, who has been serving PNP for 13 years, said he would want to transfer his family of two kids here from Laguna “as soon as possible.” President Aquino, during the launching of the mass housing project in May, also here said the defense front liners of the country should not worry anymore of the security of their families. “Hindi na kailangang kabahan para sa seguridad ng kanilang pamilya ang ating mga sundalo. Kapag may bagyo, sino ba ang nauuna? Kapag may baha at kailangan ng rescue, sino ba ang unang pumapasok? (There is already no need for our soldiers to worry about the security of their families. If there is a storm, who are the first to come? If there is flood and rescue is needed, who are the first to respond?),” said President Aquino during the May launching pertaining to the police and soldiers. He promised 20,000 housing units for the security workforce this year during the 25th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA Revolution in February. Through Administrative Order No. 9, NHA will build the subsidized housing units in different parts of Luzon using a P4.2 billion budget. At present, 800 houses had already been finished in Brgy. Batia. The P140,000 selling price of each housing unit is payable for 30 years at six percent interest rate per annum. Each house was already subsidized by the government with P35,000 deduction from the original P175,000. Soldiers and policemen would pay a monthly amortization of P200 for the first five years, and gradually increases to P1,307 for the last five years of payment. The case stemmed from the municipal government move asking the operator of the North Luzon Expressway to settle its unpaid taxes and regulatory obligations amounting to millions of pesos. Pascual said the town has the right to impose taxes on the tollway operators for being a host to the entry and exit points of the expressways. The town has now three NLEX tollgates following the opening of the Tabe exit Monday. The two other tollgates are located in Barangays Tabang and Sta. Rita. On Sept. 12, 2008, the municipal government asked the MNTC to settle its unpaid permit and other regulatory fees amounting to over P2 million. On October 14, 2008, the MNTC received another assessment from the municipal government for unpaid tax amounting to over P67 million. In 2009, the MNTC filed two suits against the LGU for the annulment of the local business tax and of the permit and regulatory fees and asked for a temporary restraining order against the defendants. The MNTC claimed it is exempted from paying local business tax and permits and other regulatory fees citing the Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement. The firm said they are considered as one of the country’s top tax payers. However, Judge Wilfredo T. Nieves dismissed MNTC’s complaints for lack of merit and upheld the imposition of taxes. ***** Puregold Guiguinto is bigger than Puregold Malolos. The supermarket itself is bigger than in Malolos. Parang SM hypermarket na rin siya kasi may mga appliances, kitchen wares, clothings, among other things). Then oustide the supermarket, may Max's, Mercury Drugs, LBC, Hardware One, Metrobank and yung tindahan yata ng cellphone na wala panng signage. ***** Nakaalis na nga Radio Veritas sa Dakila, Malolos. May mga nakatumba pang antenna nung napadaan ako kahapon. I hope 2 years from now, nakatayo na ang SM diyan. ***** Parang medyo maayos na ang harap ng Paper's Malolos. Ano bang nabago dun? May nawala ba? Nakapila na ang mga jeep ng karatig sa tabi habang nagsasakay. Nieves also ordered the tollway operator to settle the taxes upon finality of the decision. source: http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/news/provincial/9417-tollway-firm-suits-vs-lgu-junked -------------------------------- Sa palagay ko lang, dapat talagang magbayad ng tax sa host town or city ang MNTC sa host ng tollway exits nila. Ganun din naman ang ginagawa nung mga establishments inside NLEX gasoline stations. They pay their taxes to the host cities or towns. The projects are part of the proposed Manila-Bulacan-Bataan Coastal Highway and the Pampanga Delta Development Project (PDDP-II), which will served as an ‘expressway’ of flood water from Central Luzon provinces. Alvarado said perennial flooding on towns lying on the coast of Manila Bay will be addressed if the coastal highway is constructed. He said that it will serve as a dike against rising seawater that inundates the cities of Malabon and Navotas, in Metro Manila; the towns of Obando, Bulakan, Paombong, Hagonoy and the City of Malolos in Bulacan; and the towns of Macabebe and Masantol in Pampanga. “We will be hitting three birds in one stone if the coastal highway project in Bulacan is pursued,” he said Alvarado said noting that it will also open new frontier for development. He cited the experience of China which pursued development of its coastal areas first before going inland.
