2011 SINGKABAN FIESTA:
Tagumpay ang pagbubukas kahit di dumating sina Binay at De Lima

MALOLOS –Tagumpay ang pagbubukas ng walong araw na Singkaban Fiesta noong Huwebes, Seytembre 8, ngunit hindi ito kasing sigla tulad sa mga nagdaang taon.

Ito ay dahil na rin sa hindi pagdalo ng inimbitahang panauhing pandangal na si Bise Presidente Jejomar Binay.

Maging si Justice Secretary Leila De Lima na inimbitahan din ng kapitolyo bilang kapalit ni Binay ay hindi rin nakarating.

Bukod dito, kapansin-pansin din ang pagkukulang sa pahahanda ng pambungad na palatuntunan, at pagtitipid ng kapitolyo sa ipinaradang karosa ng kasaysayan.

Mahigit 1,000 katao ang dumalo sa pagbubukas ng taunang pagdiriwang ng Singkaban Fiesta na isinagawa sa bakuran ng kapitolyo.

Karaniwan sa mga ito ay mga opisyal ng ibat-ibang barangay sa lalawigan, at ang iba ay mga ma-aaral ng Bulacan State University (BulSU) at Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC).

Kahit walang streamer o tarpaulin poster na isinabit bilang pagpapabatid kung sino ang panauhing pandangal sa araw na iyon, marami sa mga dumalo ang umasa na masisilayan nila ito.

Ngunit hanggang sa matapos ang pambungad na palatuntunan bandang alas 10:30 ng umaga, ay hindi nakarating ang mga imbitado panauhing pandangal.

Ayon kay Provincial Administrator Jim Valerio, una nilang inimbitahan si Binay ngunit isang araw bago magsimula ang walong araw na pagdiriwang ay napagsabi ang tanggapan ng Bise Presidente na hindi ito makakarating.

Ang dahilan, abala daw si Binay. Ngunit umugong din ang usap-usapan sa mga dumalo na gusto raw ng tanggapan ni Binay ay marami ang taong daratnan nito sa pagdiriwang na dadaluhan.

Dahil sa biglang pag-urong ni Binay, napilitan ang kapitolyo na imbitahan si De Lima noong Miyerkoles.

Ayon kay Valerio, tumango naman ang kalihim ngunit nagbigay ng pasubali na baka rin hindi makarating dahil sa may mga naunang naitakdang pakikipagpulong sa Maynila.

Kinabukasan, nakumpirma ng kapitolyo na hindi rin makakarating si De Lima dahil sa mga naunang naitakdang pakikipagpulong.

Sa kabila na walang panauhing pandangal sa pambungad na palatuntunan ng 2011 Singkaban Fiesta, ipinagpatuloy pa rin ito ng kapitolyo.

Sinimulan ito sa pamamagitan ng isang misa na pinamunuan ni Monsignor Angel Santiago na muntik na rin umalis bago magmisa dahil sa tanghali na ay hindi pa nagsisimula sa palatuntunan.

Ayon kay Santiago, may nakatakda rin siyang gawain, ngunit napakiusapan siya ni Valerio.

Haba namang nagmimisa si Santiago, ilan mga dumalo na nasa likuran ay pakubling kumain ng almusal na ipinamahagi ng kapitolyo.

Matapos ang misa ay sinimulan na ang ikalawang bahagi ng palatuntunan kabilang ang parada ng mga mananayaw at karosa ng kasaysayan bilang pagbibigay diin sa tyema ng pagdiriwang na “Bulacan: Lalawigang Pinanday ng Kasaysayan at Kabayanihan.”

Ngunit kapansin-pansin ang pagiging maliliit ng mga karosa ng na nagpakita ng tatlong republika na itinatag sa lalawigan.

Ito ay ang Republika ng Cacarong De Sili na itinatag noong 1896; Republika ng Biak-na-Bato na itionatag noong 1897; at ang Republika ng Malolos na itinatag noong 1899.

Sa tatlong nabanggit na republika, ang pinakatanyag ay ang Republika ng Malolos dahil ito ay nagluwal sa kauna-unahang demokratikong reopublika na may Saligang Batas sa Asya at Aprika.

Habang pumaparada ang mga karosa ng kasaysayan, ilang tagamasid ang patanong na nagsabi,” bakit ang liliit.”

Ang tinutukoy nila ay ang mga karosa na nagpapakita ng mga republikang itinatag sa lalawigan.

Ito ay dahil sa maliliit ang mga sasakyang ginamit sa karosa, kaya’t ng ito ay dumaan sa pagitan ng mga taong nakahilera sa bakuran ng kapitolyo ay halos matabunan.

Ayon kay Valerio, sadyang maliliit ang mga karosang ipinagawa dahil katulad noong nakaraang taon, ay muling nagtipid ang kapitolyo.

Gayunpaman, hindi niya sinabi kung magkano ang kabuuang pondo na inilaan ng pamahalaang panglalawigan sa pagdiriwang ng Singkaban Fiesta sa taong ito.

Bukod naman sa parada na itinampok sa unang araw ng pagdiriwang, tampok naman sa nalalabing pitong araw ang pagsasagawa ng trade fair, mga eksibisyon, palatuntunang pangkalingan at mga parangal sa mga natatanging Bulakenyo.
Ang taunang pagdiriwang ng Singkaban Fiesta at itunuturing na pinakamalaking piyesta sa lalawigan.

Ang salitang singkaban ay arkong kawayan na na nilgyan ng dekorasyon at karaniwang nakikita sa mga piyesta.

Ngunit ito ay binigyan ng panibagong kahulugan, na ang ibig sabihin ngayon ay “Sining at Kalinangan ng Bulacan.”

Ang Singkaban Fiesta ay dating tinatawag na Linggo ng Bulacan. Ito ay unang pinasimulan ni dating Gob. Ignacio Santiago noong dekada 70 at ipinagpatuloy nina dating Gob. Roberto Pagdanganan, Josefina Dela Cruz, at Joselito Mendoza.

speaking of City hall, ang ganda ng ginagawang (inaayos) na Municipal Hall ng Bocaue. kitang kita mo siya sa NLEx kasi wala siyang katabing buildings, puro bukid. i think mas malaki siya sa present city halls ng Malolos at San Jose del Monte. :) :okay: :cheers:

Haha tama..Marcos Type pa nga ang tawag sa mga building na naitayo during FM Era.:)

anyway,wala na namang Marcos type bldg sa BSU nowadays..ang huling Marcos Type Bldg o Structure duon ay yung Bleacher at Grandstand na giniba nuong 2006-2007.:)

pinalitan ba yung mga bakal sa Northrail sa bandang Tabang at Malolos? o pininturahan? puro kasi bago yung iba, as in walang kalawang. sayang naman yung pera, dapat pinabayaan muna nilang kalawangin saka nalang palitan kapag tuloy-tuloy na talaga ang construction ng Northrail. edi kakalawangin lang ulit yung bagong bakal kasi hindi pa naman ipagpapatuloy ang construction.

ang alam ko po ay pinipinturahan lang po para pong kulay gray po ba yun kasi yung ibang bakal sa mga pier along mc arthur ay may kalawang at lalagyan pa lang po ata ng pintura at tinatakpan ito ng lona...

Nakita ko minsan sa may gawing Fausta..Kinakaskas nila ng Steel Brush yung bakal na kinalawang..Then may ipinahid na Pinturang may Anti Oxidation..

Tyak namang ipagpapatuloy ito,dangan nga lamang at nirereview pa ang buong kontrata..kaya habang nakatengga,ayun pintura muna:okay:

May 2 magkahiwalay na Commercial Establishment na ginawa along Paseo Del Congreso..Like i've said,,nabalitaan ko lang sa isang taga Cityhall..

Malalaman natin pag Cityhall at Jollibee na mismo ang nag-announce.:okay:

it's about time na magkaroon na ng chain of fastfood stores along Paseo..mga Bangko,Commercial at Eskwelahan din naman duon..

Malaking pasakit ang pumunta pa ng Crossing at Poblacion,time consuming na,traffic pa.:)

it's about time na magkaroon na ng chain of fastfood stores along Paseo..mga Bangko,Commercial at Eskwelahan din naman duon..

tama,dapat talaga ituloy na ni Christian ang pagpapaluwang ng Fausta Mabolo road.Tyak na pag inabutan ito ng pagbubukas ng Robinsons,napakalaking problema ang paglabas ng mga sasakyan sa Fausta Road..

Nag aacquire ng matinding traffic ang Major Mall na along the Highway..lalo na at nakasalubong ang kanto ng Fausta sa Robinsons Malolos Mall.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is building its own version of the Vatican City in time for its 100th year anniversary in 2014.

The new ecclesiastical seat for the local Catholic Church breakaway group is rising in the farmlands of Bocaue and Sta. Maria, Bulacan, where a $150-million (about P6.5 billion), 50,000-seat indoor stadium would be the centerpiece of what will be officially known as Ciudad de Victoria.

Financed by contributions and years of savings, the structure would become the world’s largest domed arena when finished. Ciudad de Victoria will also have a hospital and a university, plus housing for church workers.

The not-so-good news: the world-class project has been farmed out to an Australian architectural firm and a South Korean construction company.

It is not immediately clear if Iglesia executive minister Eduardo Manalo and the extended Manalo clan would later leave their Commonwealth Avenue citadel and join the move to Bulacan.

hindi sa tutol ako sa pagdadagdag ng distrito, okay na kasi ako ngayon sa dami ng bilang ng distrito ng Bulacan. pero syempre mas maganda kung mas marami, mas malaki ang magiging pork barrel, mas malaki ang pondo, mas masusubaybayan, mas maganda.

Mangyayari naman talaga yan eh,,When Sta Maria reach the 250K population requirements..Kaso lang magkakaproblema kapag naging batas ang House Bill ni Jonjon at LV na "ireshuffle" ang District 3 and 4.

Scenario..

Halimbawa,,naging batas yan within 2012 or 2013..walang magbabago sa bilang na distrito.

Halimbawa..with the same period 2013 and 2013 umabot ang Sta Maria sa 250K population..pero nai-reapportion na ang Dist.3 and 4..

Conflicts:
-Papayag ba ang Congress na kahit kaka-reapportion lang ng Dist 3 and 4,ay gagawa nanaman ng new district (Lone District of Sta Maria) out of District 3 and 4..

2.Populous ang Sta Maria,.papayag ba si Jonjon or si LV na humiwalay ang Sta Maria..di na sila makikinabang sa advantage ang Sta Maria,kung magiging LD ito.

GANITO NA LANG SANA ANG GAWIN NI JONJON at LV

Wag nang galawin ang present arrangement ng District 3 and 4

Magpasa ng Cityhood Bill para Norzagaray at syempre para sa Sta Maria,which is deserving at long overdue na..Dapat matamasa na ng Sta Maria ang pagiging Lungsod

^^ kung 2007 data, pwedeng bumuo ng isang distrito ang sta.maria at marilao tapos isa ulit para sa meycauayan at obando. Malabo sigurong pagsamahin ang Meycauayan at Sta. Maria kasi yung 2 ang may pinakamataas na population hindi lang sa distrito kundi sa buong Bulacan in general. At kung political lang din ang move na ito, tingin ko kaya din ginawa 'to ni LV para ihiwalay talaga ang Sta. Maria at i-eliminate ang posibleng ka-kumpitensiya sa 2013 --- si Neneng Nicolas.

Yan ang sinasabi ko na karaniwang Political agenda ang reason ng Re-District,Re apportionment at Creating.

Gaya na lang ng kaso ng First District..Malinaw na Malinaw na gustong alisin ang Malolos sa First District para ma-secure ng mga Alvarado ang Capitolyo.

Same with District 4..baka nga gustong alisin ang populous at vote rich na Sta Maria (balwarte ni Neneng Nicolas) sa District 4 para ma-secure ang upuan sa pagiging Representative ni Villarica (na taga Meycauayan)

MANILA, Philippines — New Carcar Steel Manufacturing Corp., which is majority-owned by the Yao Group of SteelAsia Manufacturing Corp., is establishing a steel rolling and rebar manufacturing at a cost of P1.044 billion in Meycauyan, Bulacan.

Lucita P. Reyes, officer in charge of the Board of Investments (BoI), said the new plant will have a production capacity of 400 metric tons a year. It will employ 150 people when it starts commercial operations in July 2012.

Hindi,luma na yan..Iyan yung tarp na ikinabit ng Robinsons Land August last year dun sa site..Announcing na nakuha na nila yung lot.

Tinanggal yan past few months..tinanong ko dun sa guard ng site,.sila daw ang nagbaba kasi napapadalas ang bagyo..but still tuloy naman talaga.

Bulacan transport group won't join Monday's strike

MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – Transport groups in Bulacan will not be joining the planned transport strike on Monday saying they have to give time to Malacanang to act on its promises.
However, they said they are not abandoning the call against oil over price and the implementation of 12 percent value added tax (VAT) on toll fees.
Composed of over 100 organizations of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association, the Panglalawigang Transportasyon ng Bulacan (PTB) assured on Saturday that commuters will be served as usual.
“Hindi kami lalahok sa tigil pasada sa Lunes,” said Jun Pereda, the chair of the PTB, a transport confederation of jeepney, FX taxi and bus operators and drivers in the province.
Pereda said that their objective to sit down with government officials to address their concerns was already achieved when President Aquino met with transport leaders last Wednesday.
“Naipakita na naming sa kanila na ang mga driver at taumbayan ang masasalanta sa oil over price at sa VAT sa toll, kaya pinamamadali na rin amin yung Pantawid Pasada,’ Pereda said.
At present, he said only about 10 percent of the more than 5,000 jeepney drivers in the province received the Pantawid Pasada card.

‘Hari at Reyna ng Bulacan’ to be eco-tourism ambassadors

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, September 16 (PIA) -- Bulacan named its new ambassadors of eco-tourism as it crowned two youth the “Hari at Reyna ng Bulacan 2011” at Bulacan Capitol gymnasium, September 14.
Besting 23 other, Hazel M. German of Bocaue captured the Reyna ng Bulacan 2011 award, bringing home with her P20,000 cash prize, a trophy, and sash.
Henry M. Recinto of Marilao was enthroned Hari ng Bulacan 2011, getting also P20,000, a trophy, and sash. Recinto also bagged the Best in Formal Wear and Mr. Photogenic awards.
Governor Wilhelmino Alvarado said the winners will be ambassadors and role models who will help the provincial government in its advocacy in protecting the environment and boosting the eco-tourism programs of Bulacan.
According to Elizabeth Alonzo, head of the Provincial Youth Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office, the event aims to promote not only the beauty of the candidates but more importantly, the good qualities, values, and moral character of Bulakenyo youths.
Patrick John Onia of Calumpit and Annalyn Odessa O. Tanghal of Paombong were hailed Hari at Reyna ng Bulacan first runners-up, while John Eric G. Pascual of SJDM City and Mary Jane Santos of Calumpit were awarded Hari at Reyna second runners-up.

Sa ika-113 anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ng Kongreso ng Malolos sa Simbahan ng Barasoain kahapon, sinabi ni Gobernador Wilhelmino Alvarado na ang Set. 15 ay ang “pinakamagiting na tagumpay” ng mga Pilipino.
Noong Set. 15, 1898, nagtipon ang mga pinuno ng himagsikan sa Simbahan ng Barasoain at pinasinayaan ang Kongreso ng Malolos na nagpatibay sa deklarasyon ng kalayaan noong Hunyo 12.
Itinatag ng Kongreso ng Malolos ang Unang Republika ng Pilipinas at nilikha ang Konstitusyon ng Malolos, ang unang konstitusyon sa Asya. Ipinatupad nito ang pamahalaang pinangungunahan ng presidente na mamumuno sa loob ng apat na taon.

ABS-CBN is the first Philippine TV network to build soundstages.

ABS-CBN Corporation is set to build state-of-the-art soundstages and backlots that will enable the Kapamilya network to meet the multimedia company’s expansion plans and its growing needs to serve the viewing public.
“The first soundstage will be up before end of 2012 in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan,” said ABS-CBN Chief Technology Officer Raul Bulaong, who is responsible for ABS-CBN’s production, post-production, animation, and transmission.
Bulaong said a soundstage is a sound-proof building in which TV shows and films are shot.
“It’s like building a place where you can put together a hospital room, a hotel lobby, and an office space side by side and even shoot scenes sequentially,” he said.
ABS-CBN is the first among the local TV networks to pioneer the construction of state-of-the- art soundstages as it was also the first to build state-of-the-art TV studios in the 90s.
Aside from soundstages, Bulaong said ABS-CBN will also be constructing backlots which are areas adjacent to a soundstage that will enable them to shoot exterior or outdoor scenes like streets in foreign countries, a slum area, or even a generic street in New York City without the need to travel to far flung places.
“With these facilities, you can easily do that. You just replicate the scenes,” he said.
Bulaong said the consumers stand to benefit from the plan. “ABS-CBN is producing a lot of TV shows aired on channel 2, Studio 23, cable TV channels like ANC, movies by Star Cinema,” he said.
And when the National Telecommunications gives its go signal for local networks to shift to digital TV, ABS-CBN will be launching five more new channels. This would mean more content and more shows that ABS-CBN should be able to produce efficiently.
For the city of San Jose del Monte, the construction of soundstages will be spurring development as demand for accommodation and recreation will be created as more production people and celebrities start trekking to Bulacan to work on TV and film assignments.

^^ well mukhang hindi naman mahalaga masyado kung Bulakenyo ang biktima, nagkataon lang siguro. ang dapat sisihin ay ang security ng SM. ano ba yung kapkap na gagawin sayo pagpasok, eh kahit granada kayang kaya ipasok sa loob ng malls nila.

Tama ang puntos ni William merong pagkukulang ang mga guwardiya ng SM. Isolated case ang pangyayari na sangkot ang dalawang bulakenyo. Kumbaga naging kampante lang ang mga guard sa araw-araw nilang gawain na walang gagawa ng anumang krimen sa loob nito.

Dapat gawin nila, para sigurado na silang di na mauulit ang mga ganitong bagay....mag install sila ng walkthrough scanner or maglagay sila ng isang desegnated place, na ang pwede lang pumasok ang mga me dalang bag through a baggage scanner.

Angat dam to release water at 4 p.m. Tuesday—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – Water will be released from Angat dam at 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration said.

The expected volume is 100 cubic meters per second and will affect the following municipalities in Bulacan – Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Baliwag, Pulilan, Plaridel, and Hagonoy, Pagasa said.

The water level in Angat dam is at 208.74, near its spilling level of 210 meters.

Tama si William meron nga sa Pandi, tabi ng palengke. Kala ko nga noong una Clinic iyon pala school ng BPC, hanggang 9PM ang klase nila dahil merong Morning at Afternoon shift ang mga mag-aaral dito.

Bulacan Towns and Cities

There had been so many stories on how the town got its name, but he legend nearest to the truth is that Angat got its name after
the Tagalog word angat, meaning a high piece of land or a community living in a promontory during the Spanish regime.

Two hundred meters from the municipal hall is the famous and historical barrio in Panginay, the birthplace of Francisco "Balagtas" Baltazar,
the town's most prominent son and from whom the town got is name. For whom also "Balagtasan", a form of debate in versified Tagalog, was named.
In reverence to the hero's deeds, the official name of Bigaa was changed Balagtas through the legislative act sponsored by the late Congressman, Teodulo Natividad.

Before the coming of the Spaniards in 1521, Baliuag was just a wilderness inhabited mostly by animals and wild birds.

The name "Bulakan" was derived from the Tagalog word "bulak" which is cotton in English. When the Spaniards first came to the country's shore,
they found cotton, among others, growing abundantly in many places in Luzon, particularly in Bulakan.

Bustos was politically and religiously a part of Baliuag before. Later it became a separate parish after a tragic incident, which led to the giving of the name "Bustos".

Calumpit was derived from the name of the hardwood trees called Calumpit, found abundantly growing in front of the Calumpit Catholic Church.
The hardwood was widely used and from then on it was adopted as the town's official name.

The municipality of Dona Remedios Trinidad, province of Bulacan was created on September 13, 1977 under Presidential Decree 1196,
in honor of the late mother of then First Lady, Imelda Romualdez Marcos, who was a pure Bulakeña.

In those days, travel throughout Guiguinto was difficult and slow down to cross single file over a narrow bamboo bridge. Their Filipino guides
would cry out, "Hinto" (stop). The Spaniards thought this was the name "Hihinto". The Spaniards substituted "Gui" (with hard "g") for the Tagalog "Hi".
The place has since been called Guiguinto.

Hagonoy shares its boundary with the towns of Calumpit and Paombong in Bulacan and Masantol in Pampanga province. It is basically a
fishing town with the Manila bay areas as its fishing ground, which extends up to the provinces of Cavite, Pampanga and Bataan.

The name of Malolos was presumably derived from the Tagalog word "Paluslos", meaning " downwards". The name resulted from a
misunderstanding among the first Spanish missionaries who reached the place. Searching for inhabited places along the Calumpit River,
these priests came upon some natives of a riverside barrio (now Kanalate). They asked for the name of the place. The natives, not knowing
the Spanish tongue, answered that the flow of the river in that part was downstream -"paluslos"-, which the Spaniards pronounced "Malolos".
Corruption of the word through the years led to present "Malolos".

The history of Marilao is correlated with the history of Meycauayan. This may be true, for in the old days, Marilao was part of Meycauayan and its
biggest barrio. I got its name from a yellow plan (madilaw) growing abundantly in the place.

Meycauayan is one of the oldest towns in the province of Bulacan and in the entire Philippines. The Franciscans established the town in 1578,
a few years after the founding of the city of Manila.

Political boundaries were established and barrio Casay was called "Norzagaray". The name of the town was derived from the name
of the Governor-General who declared the separation of the said barrio from the political unit of Angat.

Take four typical pilgrims, a bachelor, a spinsters and a childless couple. Settle them into a rustic-peaceful town somewhere in Central Luzon.
Make them dance with considerable faith before the image of tree patron saints in an old historic church. Add some seafood with a sprinkling of
"mangga at suman". That's Obando in nutshell.

Pandi is the youngest town in Bulacan. Pandi was then a part of the town Balagtas (then Bigaa) until its formal separation and independence
on April 17, 1946.

There was a time that there were earthen jars to deposit nipa sap, the people used to long bamboo tubes or joints called a vernacular the
"Bombong". Every place where a nipa hut stood, this "Bombong" containing nipa juice is seen. People from adjacent places who came to this town to
barter their products with the tuba of nipa or vinegar, called this place
Paombong or sitio of many Bombongs. This is the origin of the name of the town.

They inquired from the natives who should be credited, and the Pampangos exclaimed, "Quing wawa Ding tagalog po" or the Tagalogs got it.
So every now and then, to every question of the friars, the people would reply. "Buti Quing Wawa Tagalog, Quing wa". The riest believed
that the Tagalogs should be credited and should receive the gold medal and from thereafter the place was called Quingua.

The first time Pulilan was settled was unknown but if existing records of the towns of Calumpit and Baliuag, between which the town lies,
be made a basis, it could be deduced that in the early part of the 17th century it could have had a sprinkling of settlers.

Long before the arrival of the Spaniards in the Philippines, the town of San Ildefonso was known as Bulak. The early inhabitants called this
town as such because of the abundant "kapok" trees (Bulak in vernacular) growing on the hill where the town proper is now situated.

Early accounts on the founding of this town, as gathered from the old people, yielded information that it was formerly a part of the
town of Meycauayan. The town reportedly got its name from Saint Joseph whose statue was found was a veritable forest; the hunters
called it San Jose Del Monte.

They saw the winged figure, which looked like Saint Michael, the Prince of the Angels. They believed that the discovery of the Angel was
God's blessing and a sign of good graces to the inhabitants. In this connection, the people of Miguel Mayumo deemed it proper and
timely to add "Sam" to the name of the town in reference and homage to the discovery of the image of Arcangel. Hence, San Miguel de Mayumo
became the complete name of the town. However, the official name of the town at present is simply San Miguel.
