San Jose Water Uses New Filters
The Philippine Star - June 14, 2012
MANILA, Philippines - The San Jose del Monte City Water District (San Jose Water) is now operating its recently acquired automatic self-cleaning filter at its water treatment plant, as part of its continuing effort to further improve water quality.
The filters will increase the production capacity of San Jose Water’s treatment plants by 5,000 cubic meters of water per day which can easily serve safe and potable water to an additional 7,500 homeowners in the city.
The filters were acquired and installed by San Jose Water as a result of its twinning partnership with Korea Water Resources Corp. (K-Water), a national water company recognized in Asia for its stringent water quality management systems and operations.
The 13-month partnership with K-Water focused on optimizing water treatment processes in one of two San Jose Water facilities and on improving water quality monitoring systems.
With K-Water’s support, San Jose Water upgraded its treatment facility to better remove manganese during El Niño and La Niña conditions, invested in new equipment for its laboratory to enhance water quality analysis, and improved treatment plant operations for filtration, pipe flushing and residual sludge management to lower turbidity.
At present, San Jose Water is serving safe and potable water 24 hours a day to more than 75,000 households in the city, representing 58 out of 59 barangays in the city.

By Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu
Thursday 14th of June 2012
This CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan June 14 (PIA) -- A total of 154 jobseekers in Central Luzon were hired on the spot during Tuesday’s Kalayaan 2012 job fair in Malolos City, Bulacan.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional information officer Jerry Borja said the newly hired individuals accounted for 16 percent of the 926 qualified applicants reported.
Among the positions filled up include accountants, architects, bakers, bookkeepers, call center agents, cashiers, copy writers, cooks, drivers, encoders, electricians, engineers, foremen, forklift operators, massage therapists, pharmacists, restaurant managers, systems administrators, waiters, web developers, researchers, secretaries, tellers, utility workers, CAD draftsmen, welders, 3D animators, landscapers, quality control inspectors, and X-ray technicians.
Around 950 jobseekers trooped to the June 12 employment fest which was held in the premises of the historic Barasoain Church where President Benigno Aquino III led the flag raising and wreath laying rites.
A total of 44 companies attended the fair, 31 of which were Philippine-based.
Other government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, and PhilHealth were also present to help in the pre-employment needs of the applicants. (WLB/CLJD-PIA 3)
SOURCE (http://www.pia.gov.ph/news/index.php?article=561339592661)
This is indeed a good news though 154 is still far from the total number of those who have no work (even compared to the total number of qualified applicants stated above - 950)...

2.6 hectare ang Robinsons Malolos = 26,000m²
22,776m² = parking area
26,000m² = total area
total area - parking area = mall area
26,000m² - 22,776m² = 3,224m²

Okay..given na in terms of Land Area..malaki ang Starmall..no doubt of that..
Sa Number of Floors naman bumawi ang Robinsons Malolos..
Anyway..we have to enjoy..finally may Mall na sa mag Cities of Bulacan..unlike noong 2009 na may nagsabi pang taga SSC na.."Bulacan..kung saan ang mga Malls ay wala sa Cities kundi nasa Municipalities" hahaha

Robinsons Land to build 2nd mall in Bulacan
By Zinnia B. Dela PeÑa (The Philippine Star) Updated June 15, 2012
MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the property development arm of JG Summit Holdings Inc., is further expanding its presence in the northern part of the country with the construction of a shopping mall in Malolos, Bulacan.
RLC Commercial Centers Division general manager Arlene Magtibay said the four-level Malolos mall, which will rise on a 2.6-hectare lot along MacArthur Highway, will be the group’s 33rd mall and its second in the province of Bulacan.
The planned commercial center will have a gross leasable space of 44,562 square meters and parking area totaling 22,776 sqm or 535 slots.
This will be in addition to the group’s six existing malls in northern Luzon, namely Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, Robinsons Place Angeles, Robinsons Luisita, Robinsons Pulilan, Robinsons Cabanatuan and Robinsons Place Calasiao.
Aside from its rich historical and cultural heritage, the city of Malolos is rapidly becoming industrialized due to its proximity to Metro Manila. Many corporations have put up production facilities as well as commercial outlets in key places in the city.
The Malolos mall will be home to 200 tenants and four cinemas with a seating capacity of 276.
RLC is aggressively expanding its retail portfolio over the next two years to boost its total mall leasable area to a little over one million square meters.
The group is building seven new shopping malls and expanding three of 29 existing malls in 2012-2013 to take advantage of the expected surge in consumer spending and a booming business process outsourcing industry. Of the seven, three will be built this year while the other four will rise in 2013.
RLC recently completed two mall expansion projects in Tacloban and Bacolod in the Visayas.
Together with the two expansion projects, RLC’s total gross leasable area will reach 911,000 sqm at end-September this year. In 2013, RLC will add another 100,000 sqm to bring the total GLA to 1.01 million sqm.

Kapag nagkaganon eh di lahat happy :banana::banana:
yhuanista07 June 15th, 2012, 02:26 AM sabi sa article 44,000m² ang Robinsons Malolos. :) for comparison lang:
SM Marilao - 88,000m²
SM Baliwag - 61,000m²
Starmall SJDM - 52,000m² (tama ba?)
convertion ko haha :D
1hectare = 10,000m²
2.6 hectare ang Robinsons Malolos = 26,000m²
22,776m² = parking area
26,000m² = total area
total area - parking area = mall area
26,000m² - 22,776m² = 3,224m²
total land area: 26,000m²
parking area: 22,776m²
gross floor area: 44,562m²
congrats Malolos!!
4 levels din kaya ang parking?
yhuanista07 June 15th, 2012, 02:29 AM nakita ko nga yung Gateway..ang ganda ganda..:okay:

Santa Maria, Bulacan June 15th, 2012, 06:20 AM Philip Salvador announces bid for vice governor
http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sites/default/files/a_images/people/celebrity/philip_bong.jpg
MANILA, Philippines – Philip Salvador is following in the footsteps of Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Jinggoy Estrada and other actor-politicians as he announced his plans to run for vice governor of Bulacan next year.
He believes that his candidacy is a blessing from God.
“Ako kasi kapag gusto ng Diyos, thy will be done. So ito, naririto na ako,” he said.
The actor also thanked his friends, Revilla and Estrada, for being there to support his plan.
Doon, nagpapasalmat ako kasi alam ko na mahal ako ng dalawang kaibigan ko,” he said, referring to Revilla and Estrada.
Salvador’s mother, Corazon Reyes, was born and raised in Baliuag, Bulacan.
The actor is poised to go against incumbent vice governor Daniel Fernando in the 2013 elections.

Blumark June 15th, 2012, 07:01 AM Alliance on disaster mitigation created
By Herbert P. Mapiles
Friday, June 15, 2012
CANDABA – An alliance on disaster preparation and mitigation was recently formed, involving the provinces of Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Bulacan, in a bid to strengthen communication and coordination during time of calamities.
The meeting, held at the Bulwagan of the municipal town hall here, was presided over by Mayor Jerry Pelayo and was attended by various officials from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils (PDRRMC) of the three provinces.
Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.
The formation of the alliance has also given way to the creation of a “Command Post” that will serve as a converging point of all flood-stricken municipalities along the stretch of the Pampanga River and other major tributaries connected to it.
Engineer Josephine Legaspi, administrative and operation officer of the Nueva Ecija Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NEDRRMC), told local officials here they will be giving timely information on anything that may trigger flooding in Candaba.
Legaspi claimed all dikes in Nueva Ecija going to the Pampanga River are already constructed and can withstand the strong current coming from the river channel.
“Napakaganda nito.
Lulu Alingcastre, Pampanga provincial disaster and risk reduction management officer (PDRRMO), said with the intervention of Governor Lilia Pineda, Pampanga has been doing its disaster preparedness the whole year round through constant coordination with mayors and village officials in the fourth district of the province.
Alingcastre said the governor has ensured that evacuation centers are in place and there are available equipment and food during times of disaster.

Philippine Information Agency
By Shane F. Velasco - 06/15/12

Angat dam, planong gawing tourist attraction; pinakamahabang zip line, ilalagay
- RR/FRJ, GMA News

Angat dam, planong gawing tourist attraction; pinakamahabang zip line, ilalagay

Meron naman na supposed to be a Catholic chapel in Cabanas, kaso according to my friend, ayaw ipa-under sa Catholic Church. Pag ganun ba @marcjeff yung chapel and yung lot mapupunta or to be owned na by the Church?

Santa Maria, Bulacan June 15th, 2012, 04:17 PM Shanties up for demolition for Manila Bay cleanup
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The Department of Public Works and Highways is demolishing 654 shanties built along the dikes of the mouth of Manila Bay in Pampanga and Bulacan provinces starting June 18 to ease floods and clear waterways there, an official said.
Antonio Molano Jr., DPWH director in Central Luzon, said due for demolition are 80 houses in Macabebe town and 562 houses in Masantol, both in Pampanga, and 12 houses in Hagonoy town in Bulacan.
Molano said the agency scheduled the demolition after the families received their third notice in May and consultations with village leaders, mayors and representatives of the Commission on Human Rights, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor were finished.
Little resistance was expected because the DPWH went through due process, he said.
The families were not offered resettlements because they had been relocated during the implementation of the Pampanga Delta development project, which widened the mouth of the Manila Bay to 750 meters.
Molano said the removal of illegal structures complies with the order of the Supreme Court to various agencies in 2008 to clean the Manila Bay.
He said the DPWH had also deployed four dredgers to remove silt at the delta to hasten the flow of floodwater toward the bay. The DPWH and local government would next remove illegally built fish pens and ponds, he said.
A DPWH inventory also showed that 733 structures encroach on several waterways in Nueva Ecija province.
Region-wide, the agency identified 3,807 houses, factories and fish pens on waterways, which were seen to have slowed down the draining of floodwater triggered by strong rains dumped by Typhoons “Pedring” and “Quiel” last year.

Blumark June 15th, 2012, 09:41 PM Country's Population Over 92M – NSO
By CZARINA NICOLE O. ONG
June 15, 2012, 4:01pm
MANILA, Philippines --- The National Statistics Office (NSO) has reported that the total population of the Philippines as of May 1, 2010 is 92,337,852, citing the 2010 Census of Population and Housing.
The census was made official with the signing by President Benigno S. Aquino III of Proclamation No. 362 on March 30, 2012.
“The 2010 population is higher by 15.83 million compared to the 2000 population of 76.51 million. In 1990, the total population was 60.70 million,” said NSO Administrator Carmelita N. Ericta.
On an annual average during 2000 to 2010, the country's population increased at the rate of 1.9 percent, which meant that two persons were added per year for every 100 persons in the population.
Among all the country's regions, Calabarzon (Region IV-A) receives the biggest chunk of the population with 12.61 million, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 11.86 million and Central Luzon (Region III) with 10.14 million. The population of these three regions together comprised more than one-third (37.47 percent) of the Philippine population.
Meanwhile, among the provinces, Cavite has the largest population with 3.09 million. Bulacan is second with 2.92 million and Pangasinan, third with 2.78 million.
Six other provinces surpassed the two million mark. These include Laguna with 2.67 million; Cebu, excluding its three highly urbanized cities Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City with 2.62 million; Rizal with 2.48 million; Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City, with 2.40 million; Batangas with 2.38 million; and Pampanga, excluding Angeles City, with 2.01 million.
The provinces with a population of less than 100,000 persons are Batanes with 16,604, Camiguin with 83,807, and Siquijor with 91,066.
Further, four of 33 highly urbanized cities (HUC) have surpassed the one million mark. These are Quezon City with 2.76 million, City of Manila with 1.65 million, Caloocan City with 1.49 million, and Davao City with 1.45 million.
“The 2010 Census of Population and Housing (2010 CPH) was undertaken by the National Statistics Office in May-June 2010 pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 72 and Commonwealth Act 591,” explained Ericta. “About 82,000 field workers, majority of who were DepEd public school teachers, were deployed during the nationwide census taking in 2010. The 2010 CPH was designed to take an inventory of the population and housing units in the Philippines nationwide and to collect information about their characteristics. Information on the count of the population and living quarters were collected with 12:01 a.m. of May 1, 2010 as the census reference time and date.”
The NSO attributes the successful completion of census-taking to the support of the local and national officials, government agencies, local government units, media, private agencies, and non-government organizations.

And this includes not only malls but hypermarts, savemores, condos, etc.. Try to think of it, nangyayari na ito!
Ang laki na nga ng itinaas ng presyo ng lupa within the Philippine Arena. Would you believe na pati yung right side ng NLEX south bound coming from the toll plaza may mga namimili na!!
