it can still be considered i think because more than anything else, it's the history that counts... and whatever happened sa simbahan na yun... sa Plaza nga ng Aurora, may nakatayong marker (without any monument, or building that it refers to, marker lang talaga) chronicling the history ng Baler as a barrio before... What more pa kung may building pa na existing with an original bell tower...

A total of 9,557 seedlings has already been planted by SM City Baguio as an initial step in fulfilling its commitment to plant 50,000 trees around Baguio City, underscoring the company's corporate social responsibility commitment.

Earlier in January, 400 seedlings were planted within the SM City Baguio compound, while 2,000 were planted in February at the Busol Watershed by the SM City Bagtlio administration employees and affiliates. Both activities were in support of the government's National Greening Program. Some 157 seedlings were planted at Forbes Park with an additional 7,000 at the Busol Watershed on June 7.

Monitoring and maintenance of the seedlings in the next three years are conducted by DEYAN Construction, which was hired by SM City Baguio to ensure a high survival rate for the seedlings at the adopted site in Busol. The SM City Baguio employees found that all 2,000 seedlings planted in February at the watershed were alive.

SM City Baguio also put up its own nursery in preparation for the series of tree-planting activities it has planned in Baguio City. In observance of Philippine Arbor Day this June, SM City Baguio is set to plant another 15,000 seedlings at the Busol Watershed.

SM City Baguio is constantly coordinating with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and other government agencies to help determine and coordinate other possible areas for future tree-planting sites.

The development of the Neopolitan Business Park, a residential, business and leisure complex in Fairview, Quezon City, is keeping in pace with the construction of the Metro Railway Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) which is slated to begin in 2012.

When completed, the 22-kilometer train line will have 14 stations starting from North Avenue and EDSA in Quezon City, through Commonwealth Avenue, and all the way to San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

“We anticipate a boost in the development of areas where the new MRT-7 line is passing as an increase in people’s mobility also drives up economic activity. The business park is located along Mindanao and Regalado Avenues; the MRT-7 will have a station right at Regalado. The train line will be completed in two to three years.

“For both future residents and workers at the business park, having an MRT-7 station right along Regalado Avenue will make travel to and from Neopolitan affordable and convenient. This takes away so much stress from traveling through traffic during rush hours.

And since the MRT-7 also passes through North Avenue and connects with the MRT-3 along the main EDSA artery, they will also have easy access to the hubs of business, leisure and health care in Quezon City, Makati, Ortigas and the rest of the metropolis,” said Robles.

The complex is ideal for residential and office condominiums, town houses; hotels; BPO offices; banks; fine, casual, and fast food restaurants; convenience stores and drug stores; beauty salons and barbershops; an entertainment arcade; car and motorcycle showroom; and an appliance center.

It will have a state-of-art hospital facility and will provide access to a wide selection of schools, churches, shops and supermarkets, and other points of interest.

Residents and workers will also be within walking distance to a wide selection of restaurants for casual and fine dining, featuring cuisine from around the globe.

Abstract:

Soil is essential to raised food. As more crops are yielded, soil becomes acidic. To correct soil acidity, farmers burn the soil that causes pollution. One such alternative solution is the use of agricultural lime. The study was conducted to develop the quail eggshells potential as a neutralizer to acidic oil to yield more crops.

The quail eggshells were collected from City of San Jose Del Monte Bulacan. They were pounded using mortar and pestle. Five samples were used. Sample 1, 2 and 3 were treated with 50 grams, 75 grams and 100 grams pounded quail eggshells respectively using rice field soil. Sample 4 was treated with 100 grams of quail eggshells using commercially sold garden soil. Sample 5 served as the control group. The pH of the soil samples were tested after one month. The soil samples were planted with okra seeds. After one month, the height and the number of leaves of the plants of the soil samples and the control group were compared.

The pH of the soil samples before and after the treatment on average were 5.97 and 7.79 respectively. This was supported by Soil Analysis form Bureau of Soil and Water Management. On the other hand, to prove the efficacy of the soil samples treated with quail eggshells on plants. One Way Analysis of Variance was used. The F-critical value was 2.61 while the F-computed in the height and the number of leaves were 0.02 and 0.04 respectively. The hypothesis was accepted because F- computed>F-Critical. Results reveal that the soil samples treated with quail eggshells are better compared to the control group because the growth of the plants on the experimental group was taller and have more leaves.

The province of Bulacan recently received recognition as the Outstanding Province in Central Luzon with its exemplary participation in promoting welfare for persons with disability (PWDs).

The Regional Council on Disability affairs (RCDA) awarded the recognition in line with the 34th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week held at the Walter Mart in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The recognition is the first regional award in the country organized to recognize the local government, group and individual promoting PWD’s welfare.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office said, being one of the best in promoting programs for PWDs, Bulacan provincial government had released IDs for PWDs entitling them with benefits like discounts in purchases and medical services.

In addition, disability affairs officer were deployed in the towns of San Jose del Monte, Paombong, and Obando. Accessibility features and laws were also passed for the welfare of PWDs.

Budget was also allocated for the projects and programs to address the needs of PWDs.

Meanwhile, the provincial government successfully launched activities for Bulakenyos with disabilities like harelip operation dubbed as “Ngiti mo, Sagot naming,” held at Baliwag District Hospital and the Cultural and Variety Show called “Basta’t Bulakenyo kahit may K Ok” held at sa SM City, Baliwag, Bulacan.

Third week of July every year is NDRP week, in accordance with the Proclamation No. 361 in August 2000, amended by the administrative order No. 35, dated May 3, 2002. San Agustin Church ang nag iisang church na naka survive noong World War II..

The House Committee on Ways and Means has approved a proposal to grant tax exemption to all grants and donations to city and municipal rehabilitation centers for children and youth with disabilities.

The tax exemption proposal is provided in Section 9 of an unnumbered substitute bill to House Bill 3665 filed by Rep. Teddy Casiño (Party-list, Bayan Muna), or the proposed "Act Establishing City and Municipal Rehabilitation Centers for Children and Youth with Disabilities."

The Committee on Social Services chaired by Rep. Arturo Robes (Lone District, San Jose del Monte City) which has primary jurisdiction over HB 3665 had specifically referred the tax exemption provision to the Committee on Ways and Means chaired by Rep. Isidro Ungab (3rd District, Davao City) for discussion and deliberation of its panel members.

Section 9 provides that "all grants, endowments, donations and contributions to the City and Municipal Rehabilitation Centers for Children and Youth with Disabilities for their actual, direct and exclusive use shall be exempt from donor's tax and the same shall be allowed as deductions from the donor's gross income for purposes of computing the taxable income of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended."

Casiño said he filed the bill in line with the government's concern and responsibility to facilitate the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities as provided by Republic Act 7277 or the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities and the United Nation's Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities.

"The State shall, therefore, provide for the rehabilitation and training of children and youth with disabilities to ensure their right to live freely and independently, and to achieve a more meaningful, productive and satisfying life," said Casiño, Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development.

The bill provides there shall be rehabilitation centers for children and youth with disabilities in every city, municipality, or clusters of municipalities supervised by the appropriate provincial or city or municipal government.

The Center may be located in an accessible existing structure with required facilities and equipment identified and provided by the host local government unit. If there is no existing structure, the provincial, city or municipal government may provide for the land, construction of the rehabilitation center, and purchase of required equipment. Other allowable fund sources may also be tapped in establishing the rehabilitation centers, based on the bill.

The bill further provides the location of the rehabilitation center shall be guided by population statistics of persons with disabilities as provided by the Department of Health. In order to facilitate community-based rehabilitation programs, satellite facilities may be put up in municipalities and barangays, as may be necessary according to the bill.

The rehabilitation centers shall carry out the following functions: physical and social rehabilitation; education; psycho-social development (personality and career development, job and internship coaching, and orientation for potential employers); and information and resource center.

Okey talaga si Binay kasi galing din yan sa LGU, pero i don't think din na ilalagay siya diyan. Hindi papayag si Mar. Pag nalagay si Binay jan, lalong sisikat..

The next DILG chief should continue robredos anti epal regulation, i don't think Binay can afford to do that given his plan to run as president. Binay is one of those stubborn politicians who can't refrain from putting their names or faces in government projects :bash:
