History
The history of the province from the Spanish occupation has been replete with events worthy of recollection. As early as the time of the coming of Legaspi to conquer Manila with two of his subordinate officers, Martin de Goiti and Juan Salcedo, the Bulakeños through their seafaring brothers from Hagonoy showed their instinctive love of country by helping Raja Soliman, King of Manila, fight the Battle of the Bangkusay Channel.
The history began when a small settlement of fishermen lived along the coast of Manila Bay before the coming of the Spaniards. Later on, these settlers became farmers after moving inwards as they discovered that the land in the interior part was fertile and very much drained by the network of rivers and streams. These settlers grew and flourished into large and prosperous settlement now known as the province of Bulacan.
It is believed that flowers bloomed in the region when the Spaniards came. Because of these sprawling green orchards, vegetables and profusely flowering plants, as well as beautiful women, this lovely land had come to be called Bulacan as sort of shortened term for "bulak-lakan" and/or a derivative of the word "bulak" (kapok) which abound in the province even before the Spaniards came.
The signing of the Pact of Biak-na-Bato in 1897 was a brilliant chapter in the history of Bulacan. However, the crowning glory among the series of historical events in the province was the establishment of the Capital of the First Philippine Republic in Malolos. The Malolos Church and the Barasoain Church will be both remembered as the executive headquarters of President Aguinaldo and as the Legislative, from September 10, 1898 to March 29, 1899.It was also in Malolos that the famous and historical document, the Malolos Constitution, was drafted and ratified.
Bulacan is also the cradle of noble heroes, of great men and women. The early people of Bulacan, being descendants of a freedom-loving race, had also risen in revolt like their brothers in other parts of the country. Bulacan was one of the eight provinces, which rallied behind the Katipunan's call for an all-out insurrection against the Spanish tyranny in the late 19t h century. It produced the del Pilars, Balagtas, Tecson, Valenzuela, Torres, Estrella, Ponce, Sandico, Panganiban and many others. The Bulakeños take fierce pride in their history and tradition and they live by these glories. By these glories, they are quick to display leadership and seek fullest commitment to national goals.

With regards to some other areas in Bulacan, flood usually don't reach waist-deep. Sometimes, places like Sta. Maria (where I live) experience flooding (below-the-knee-deep) because of poor drainage system and perhaps due to the intensity of rain. I've never heard of Guiguinto experiencing the same problem though. :)

Thanks sir up_mc! That was a breath of fresh air! Now something more sensitive, if it's ok with you. What about the security issues/crime rates in Guiguinto? Malolos, being the capital city is quite promising for investors or dreamhouse-seeking individuals from Manila because of the level of modernism (comparative to other municipalities in Bulacan). I learned from a fellow (from the military force) though, that crime is on a higher side, giving would-be investors/tenants second thoughts. How does it compare to the living conditions in Guiguinto?

up_mc August 28th, 2009, 05:03 PM I guess crime rate is quite the same throughout the country (well except for Batanes, I guess). But i bet, Bulacan, in general, is still a safer place compared to Metro Manila. Guiguinto, is adjacent to Malolos so I guess the location itself guarantees a certain amount of security (Provincial Office of PNP is located in the capital city of the province), aside from the fact that Guiguinto has its own local Police Department.
By the way, drop the "sir", up_mc will do. :)

c6josh September 10th, 2009, 01:02 PM Largest ensaymada unwrapped in Malolos
By CZARINA NICOLE O. ONG
September 9, 2009, 7:00pm
The yearly celebration of “Singkaban Fiesta,” held from Sept. 8 to 15, might have kicked off to a rainy start, but even that didn’t dampen the spirit of the festivities.
One of the highlights for the Sept. 9 celebration was the Fiesta Ensaymada (a Spanish pastry). Touted as the country’s largest ensaymada, over 30 Bulakeños started preparing the enormous pastry at 11 pm last Tuesday, Sept. 8.
“The largest ensaymada idea is the brainchild of Bulacan Gov. Jonjon R. Mendoza. Following last year’s longest pastillas, we decided to prepare another pastry which Bulacan is known for – the ensaymada,” shares Obet Saguinsin, Department Head of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Project.
The ensaymada, which was on display at the Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos, is 40 feet in diameter, comsisting of 15,254 individual ensaymadas from seven different bake shops in Bulacan -- Barasoain Bake Shop, Eurobake, Enlin’s Bakeshop, Fernando’s Bakery, Heaven’s Delight, Mavi’s Bakeshop, and Pandelites Bakeshop Inc.
“Excited talaga ako sa Singkaban sion of classes in both elementary and high school levels in five villages, which included Dampalit, Niugan, Catmon, Tinajeros and Maysilo. The heavy rains flooded parts of Malabon.
Fiesta,” Mendoza said. And seeing the huge pastry on television made him remark the strength and resiliency of Bulakeños. “Tunay na mapagyayabang ito ng mga Bulakeño.”
For the dough alone, 5,500 eggs were used, along with 300 kilos of milk, 60 kilos of yeast, and 600 kilos of flour. For the toppings on the ensaymada, the seven bake shops made use of 5,400 grams of butter and sugar, plus 20 kilos of cheese.
The whole endeavor was said to have cost about P350,000, Saguinsin said.
This year’s fiesta theme is “Kahapon, Ngayon at Bukas, Husay ng Bulakenyo’y Walang Kupas.”(Yesterday, today and tomorrow: TheBulakeno’s talent does not fade).
The week-long celebration willso include a Wedding Fashion Show, Alay Lakad, Kapit-Kapit sa Pistang Inipit, SOS Biak Na Bato Concert, Lechon Festival, La Bulaqueña: The Pageant, Kenyo Run Again, Gawad Galing Kawani, Pistang Bulacan, Fireworks Exhibition, and more.
karirista September 12th, 2009, 01:02 PM Bulacan mayor unseated (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=504107&publicationSubCategoryId=67)
MALOLOS CITY , Philippines – Tension gripped the City of San Jose del Monte in Bulacan yesterday as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) declared a losing mayoral candidate the winner in the 2007 polls.
This came 15 days after Vice Mayor Rey San Pedro assumed the mayoral post due to the death of Mayor Eduardo Roquero on Aug. 24.
Former presidential adviser on agricultural modernization Angelito Sarmiento is now challenging San Pedro’s hold on the mayorship.
In a telephone interview, Sarmiento told The STAR that the Comelec issued a resolution on Tuesday nullifying Roquero’s proclamation and declaring him winner in the 2007 mayoral race.
After receiving a copy of the Comelec decision, Sarmiento said he took his oath of office before Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile in preparation for his assumption into office Wednesday.
However, as early as Tuesday night, dump trucks of the city government had blocked entrances to City Hall.
Danilo Armildez, a staffer of Sarmiento, said they had no idea as to who ordered the barricade.
But Sarmiento said yesterday that San Pedro appeared not ready to yield the position.
The STAR repeatedly tried to contact San Pedro, but one of his staffers said he was in a meeting.
A former city councilor, San Pedro was Sarmiento’s running mate under the Lakas banner in the 2007 elections.
A three-term congressman of the fourth district of Bulacan, Sarmiento authored the conversion of San Jose del Monte into a city in 2000.
karirista September 12th, 2009, 01:08 PM Ousted Bulacan mayor refuses to vacate post (http://www.mb.com.ph/node/220157/ou)
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — San Jose del Monte City's Reynaldo San Pedro has vowed not to vacate his post after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) last Tuesday said that former mayor Lito Sarmiento was the duly elected mayor of the city in the 2007 elections.
San Pedro, who was elected vice mayor in the 2007 elections, assumed the mayoral post when Sarmiento’s opponent, Mayor Eduardo Roquero, passed away recently.
To prevent Sarmiento from assuming his post, supporters of San Pedro have barricaded the city hall grounds with trucks and heavy equipment.
This prompted the Bulacan police to deploy policemen from the 306th Provincial Mobile Group to avert violent confrontation between supporters of San Pedro and Sarmiento. Senior Superintendent Diosdado Ramos, acting Bulacan police director, said he has designated Supt. Manuel M. Lukban Jr. as the ground commander in the area to ensure the peaceful implementation of a Comelec order declaring Sarmiento as the duly-elected mayor of the city.
Zoilo Perlas, Bulacan provincial election supervisor, said the Comelec en banc released a decision on Tuesday, ordering San Pedro to cease and desist from occupying the mayoral post as this position should now be occupied by Sarmiento because he is the officially recognized mayor of San Jose del Monte.
Sarmiento, who was at the Bulacan Provincial Capitol Friday to talk to Gov. Joselito Jon-Jon” Mendoza, said he was already sworn in as the duly elected mayor of San Jose del Monte City by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.
Earlier, he filed an election protest against Roquero, alleging irregularities. And last Tuesday, the Comelec en banc declared him winner in the 2007 elections.
In justifying his refusal to vacate the mayoral post, San Pedro said a “domino effect” in the succession of elected officials would ensue if he vacates his office. He added that the DILG should first release an order for him and all the rest of the city officials to step down from their present positions.
“Ano ba ako, barangay tanod? Wala na akong pupuntahan kasi hindi naman ako inorderan na i-vacate ang position na dapat kong balikan, ang aking vice mayor position,” he said. <-- GAGO PALA TO EH!!!
But Sarmiento said there is no need for a DILG order because the ruling of the Comelec en banc is more than enough for a peaceful transition within the mayoral post.
Meanwhile, Sarmiento said he prevented his supporters from staging rallies because the situation is not a contest anymore but the implementation of law.
*****************

Ousted Bulacan mayor refuses to vacate post (http://www.mb.com.ph/node/220157/ou)

Sarmiento sits as new SJDM mayor – Puno
By: Emil G. Gamos
MALOLOS City--Tension subsided at the San Jose del Monte City hall after Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno said Friday that Angelito Sarmiento will sit on Monday as the duly elected mayor of the city as directed by the “en banc” order of the Commission on Elections.
Puno, who was the guest of honor at the Gawad Galing Barangay 2009 awards at the Capitol Gym, said the Comelec order is very clear and that the designated Mayor Vice Mayor Reynaldo San Pedro should “cease and desist” from discharging the powers and duties of the Office of the City Mayor and relinquish the post to Sarmiento.
Sarmiento took his oath of office before Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile last Tuesday after the order was released by the Comelec.
He filed an election protest against the late Mayor Eduardo Roquero and on Tuesday the Comelec en banc declared him as the winner in the 2007 elections.
The en banc order states that “there being no more real party in interest in whose name can this case be further pursued, the Comelec en banc hereby dismisses the motion for reconsideration filed by the late Mayor Roquero.”
San Pedro, however said, he cannot just leave his newly assumed position because he had already taken his oath as the new mayor, being the second highest elected official in the city after Roquero died.
Since Wednesday, supporters of San Pedro have barricaded the city hall with trucks and heavy equipment to prevent Sarmiento and his supporters from entering the building and the mayor’s office.
Troops from the 306th Police Provincial Mobile Group were deployed at the SJDM city hall to ease the tension.
Puno said local DILG officials will assist the Comelec officials in implementing the order on Monday.
“If San Pedro will continue to perform the function of the mayor’s office, he would be charged for usurpation of authority,” Puno said.
He also clarified that there is no need for a DILG order since the Comelec order was very specific.
“Balik na sa dating status. Balik na sa pagka-vice mayor si San Pedro at balik na uli sa dati ang mga miyembro ng city council,” he said.
Sarmiento said the first thing that he will do is to make an inventory of all the city’s assets and properties.

nctramz September 18th, 2009, 04:14 PM TAPOS NA PAGMAMATIGAS MO REYNALDO SAN PEDRO, BWAAHAHAHA
Ex-Rep. Sarmiento, pinaboran ng SC bilang mayor ng San Jose del Monte, Bulacan
9/18/2009 7:02:36 PM
http://www.bomboradyo.com/newsdetails1.asp?ID=109137
karirista September 19th, 2009, 03:20 AM TAPOS NA PAGMAMATIGAS MO REYNALDO SAN PEDRO, BWAAHAHAHA
Sa wakas! (to think na nag-rule ang SC wala namang petition from either party hehehe)
Pati nga uncle ko na taga-CSJDM (andito muna ako ngayon for the time being) eh mag-aatest na super-apektado ang delivery of public services dahil sa pang-HOHOSTAGE ng grupo ni Rey San Pedro (and of course supported by the EVR camp, which is the saddest part -- patay na nga ang tao eh umeepal pa sila, sana hindi na lang sila pumapel dito just to honor his memory, may mga nagawa rin naman sya, pero his time is up)...too bad wala ako cellcam shot kasi baka kuyugin ako ng mga yun
And kung akala ninyo na tapos na ang lahat as of this writing -- the sad part is HINDI PA RIN.
Gov. Jonjon Mendoza should already step in. He said yesterday sa TV na kung hindi pa rin aalis si RSS at babalik sa pagiging bise alkalde he will neccesitate the use of force, that is, physically evicting him and the EVR supporters from City Hall...

lashu September 30th, 2009, 07:22 PM Noong September 16, 2009, ay may inalabas na palang bagong order ang comelec en banc order no. 2007-53, na kung saan isinasaad dito ang mga sumusunod: "Acting on the Extremely Urgent Motion to Intervene With Leave of the Commission Wtih Prayer to Suspend Implementation of Order of September 8, 2009 filed by intervenor Mayor Reynaldo S. San Pedro, through Counsel, on September 14, 2009, xxx Motion for leave to invtervene be GRANTED forthwith and the intervenor be allowed to file his Petition for intervention with reasonable period as the Honorable Commission may direct and further xxx the implementation of the said of september 8, 2009 be SUSPENDED or DEFERED pending the resolution of petitioners intervention so that he may be given his day in court as a real party in interestxxx the Commission En Banc hereby DIRECTS protestant Angelito M. Sarmiento to file his comment thereon within a period of five (5) days from receipt hereof, after the lapse of the given perio, with or without the comment, the said petition for intervention shall be deemed submitted for resolution"
7961, “Rule of Succession”.
Bakit at Bakit nga ba?
MAKISAMA HUWAG MATAKOT!
SADYANG MAPAGLINLANG ANG GAHAMAN!
TAYO’Y MAGKAPIT-BISIG!
TAYO’Y MAGSADYA SA MAHAL NATING PAMAHALAAN UPANG IPAKITA ANG SUPORTA SA KATOTOHANAN AT
SA ATING MAHAL NA MAYOR REYNALDO SAN PEDRO!
RULE OF LAW NOT RULE OF FORCE!

Poblacion, Baliuag (incl. Brgy. Sabang, Sto. Cristo, Tibag): 9.0
Poblacion, Sta. Maria (incl. Brgy. Bagbaguin, Sta. Clara) : 8.0
Tungko, SJDM: 7.0 - 8.0 to 9.5 this because this is one of the business center in southern bulacan because of nearby Metro Manila it's only 1 to 1.5km from Tungko to North Caloocan City.
Meycauayan: 6.5
Balagtas: 5.5
Poblacion, Bustos: 4.0
Bocaue: 3.5
Marilao: 2.0
Muzon, SJDM: 1.5 <- Not Agreed
Sampol, SJDM: 0.5 <- Not Agreed
Matindi talaga ang Baliuag! :)

MALOLOS City -- The Noynoy Aquino-Mar Roxas tandem got another boost after prominent political leaders in Bulacan belonging to Partido Del Pilar forged an alliance with the Liberal Party last Monday.
Senatorial aspirant Rizza Hontiveros-Baraquel also came for the general assembly and oath taking. They were welcomed by Gov. Joselito “Jonjon” Mendoza, PDP chairman and former Gov. Josefina “Josie” dela Cruz, the local party president.
The PDP is an offspring of the merger of the ruling Lakas-Kampi which displaced many of its members in Bulacan.
Family advocate Linabelle ‘LV’ Villarica, PDP’s congressional bet in the province’s fourth district, said the party is a rising political force in Bulacan because of its advocacy for patriotism.
Gregorio del Pilar,” Villarica said.
The other officers party are lawyer Henry Villarica, treasurer and board member Glen Santos, secretary general.

Gob. Jonjon kakandidatong kongresista? (http://punto.com.ph/News/Article/6185/Volume-3-No-150/Opinion/Gob-Jonjon-kakandidatong-kongresista)
By Dino Balabo
Nov 27, 2009

MALOLOS CITY—Bulacan Vice Governor Wilhelmino Alvarado led more than 60 local politicians in the province yesterday in taking their oath under the administration coalition party Lakas-Kampi-CMD.
The politicians represented candidates for mayor and vice mayor in 21 towns and three cities of the province and five congressional districts.
“We have a complete slate and ready to file our candidacies,” said Board Member Vicente Cruz of the first district.
Cruz described their slate as “powerhouse” noting that they have three incumbent congressional representatives like Marivic Alvarado (1st District), Pedro Pancho (2nd District) and Arthur Robes of the Lone District of San Jose Del Monte City.
He said that as provincial chair of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD in the province, incumbent Vice Governor Wilhelmino Alvarado will be the party’s standard bearer.
Alvarado will be pitted against former Governor Josie de la Cruz of Bocaue town who is staging a comeback under the Del Pilar Party, a local party organized in 2003.
Political observers here dubbed the looming battle between Alvarado and Dela Cruz as “battle of the champions” as both have never been defeated in any election.
As this developed, Alvarado is still looking for a running mate.
Cruz said that Alvarado has been consulting with other partymates on the possibilities of having Rep. Reylina Nicolas (4th District), actor and former Senior Board Member Daniel Fernando (2nd District), and former Bocaue Mayor Serafin Dela Cruz as his running mate.
A three term congresswoman, Nicolas also served as mayor of Sta. Maria town from 1992 to 2001.
She said that she wanted to take a rest from politics but remain open to the possibilities of running for vice governor.
For his part, Fernando said that he is being wooed by friends to run as Alvarado’s vice governor.
As an actor who first gained popularity from the movie “Scoprio Nights 1,” Fernando first ran as mayor of Guiguinto town in 1998 but lost. In 2001, he was elected board member of the 2nd District. In 2007, he ran against Alvarado and lost.
On the other hand, De la Cruz has served as mayor of Bocaue in different occasions.
He was the mayor of Bocaue during the 1991 Pagoda Tragedy and was reelected in 2004. In 2007 he lost to Mayor Eduardo Villanueva.

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Former Bulacan governor Josie dela Cruz, chairman of the newly formed Del Pilar Party in this province, filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) Monday in a bid to regain her old post.
Monday, supporters of Dela Cruz, numbering more or less 2,500 persons, said the former governor is bidding to make history as first ever to be reelected to the top Bulacan post.
Those who filed their CoCs with Dela Cruz are her congressional bets – Linabelle “Ruth” Villarica, 4th District; former Guiguinto mayor Ambrosio “Boy” Cruz, 2nd District; and incumbent Bulacan Governor Joselito Roxas Mendoza, 3rd District. Former board member Christian Natividad filed his CoC for mayor of Malolos.
The 10 provincial board member candidates belonging to Del Pilar Party also filed their CoCs. They are: Michael Fermin, Felix Ople, Victorino Aldaba Jr., Ramon Posadas, Enrique dela Cruz, Enrique Viudez, Rino Castro, Enrique de los Santos Jr., Eulogio Sarmiento III, and Danilo Certeza.
Another congressional candidate, Ador Pleyto of the 4th District filed his CoC under the Lakas-Kampi-CMD banner.
Ador Pleyto for 4th district also filed his certificate of candidacy. Both hundreds supporters of Villarica and Pleyto were exchanging cheers for both 4th district congressional candidates but were immediately pacified by both leaders.
The Del Pilar Party vowed their full support to the Liberal Party candidates headed by Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas.
karirista December 1st, 2009, 07:00 AM Obet Pagdanganan, nanalong governor ng Bulacan - Comelec (http://bomboradyo.com/newsdetails1.asp?ID=121088)
12/1/2009 10:27:14 AM

Una, the Berdes dropped RSP like a hot potato (iniwan sa ere) after AMS assumed office, and I'm sure gugustuhin ng pamilya ni ESR Jr. si Janet DS Reyes na maging katambal nun kesa kay Noli Concepcion, who will end up allying himself with RSP (Alvarado & Art Robes' presumptive bet with Lakas). Trade-offs nga lang ata nun eh TSP & ARB will be joining the RSP camp since accdg to Wiki they stuck it out with Lakastama? Samantalang nakuha naman ng Dilawan sina Roger Drio at JR Bartolome na alam ng mga taga-San Jose mga kilalang EVR boys, together with some diehard EVR barangay caps. [But unless magsama pa tong dalawang kampo tulad ng pinalulutang ng mga Sampoleño since parehas naman silang tubong Sampol/Sapang Palay eh lalabas na na-double cross lang itong si RSP]
IMHO Oca Robes running for mayor will further divide the greenies; remember he (and cousin Art) helped EVR "win" the 2007 polls. Him running together with that of ESR & RSP competing will only help the cause of AMS and CGF, especially that based on the picture they jumped ship to support the AbNoy-Mar presidency (I even though that would be the last thing for AMS to do considering na true blue Lakas & PGMA sya)...and the support of the yellow camp to the Partido Del Pilar (as shown in your picture, Josie & Boy raising AMS' hands) may weaken the stranglehold of the new Lakas slate [Alvarado-Robes-RSP-Noli (?)] in the city as there's a growing nationwide sentiment against anything Lakastama...
Usap-usapan:
1) In SJ, would the colors GREEN & ORANGE be a weird mix?
2) Sa Sta Maria kaya, tambalang Omeng-Yoyoy din ba vs the world ang mangyayari?

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/regions/12/01/09/comelec-proclaims-pagdanganan-bulacan-gov
MANILA - Five months before the May 2010 elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday declared that Roberto "Obet" Pagdanganan is the real winner of Bulacan's gubernatorial race in 2007.
In a resolution, The Comelec 2nd Division ordered Joselito "Jon-Jon" Mendoza to vacate the post.
It said Pagdanganan won by a 4,321 margin against Mendoza in the 2007 elections.
"This is a historical vindication not just for my family, but for the people of Bulacan," Pagdanganan said, reacting to the resolution, which took the Comelec almost three years to issue.
Pagdanganan said he was deprived of the gubernatorial post because he was cheated in the last elections. He said the Comelec discovered that some of the ballots containing the names of Mendoza were doctored.
He said he is willing to take the gubernatorial post from Mendoza despite the Comelec's late resolution of his election protest. He said he would try to implement some of his outlined programs for the province during the next five months.
Pagdanganan has filed a motion for execution, asking the Comelec to immediately order Mendoza to vacate the provincial capitol.
The newly-proclaimed governor said he is running for representative of Bulacan's 1st district.
The family of Mendoza has said that he will run for representative of Bulacan's 3rd district in 2010.
The Mendoza clan, which has forged an alliance with the Liberal Party, is fielding former governor Josie dela Cruz in the gubernatorial race.

karirista December 2nd, 2009, 07:03 PM sino-sino ba mga kakandidato sa pagka-Governor ng Bulacan?
Si Josie at si Willy lang eh. Parehas na wala pang talo.
Katambal nila ay si Boy Aniag (at the insistence of Jonjon Mendoza, as Josie would've been open to another Rely Plamengco partnership) at si Daniel "Scorpio Nights" Fernando, respectively.

ROBERTO Pagdanganan, who was declared by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as the elected governor of Bulacan in the 2007 elections, on Wednesday cautioned ousted governor Joselito “Jonjon” Mendoza from using party affiliations “to circumvent and cover up the truth.”
Pagdanganan was reacting to the statement made by Mendoza in a news conference where he blamed the administration for his ouster.
“The administration or any political party has nothing to do with the Comelec decision. We are talking here of numbers, he [Mendoza] claimed to have won by 15,732 votes but the Comelec found out that 20,236 votes should be deducted from his votes after the appreciation of evidence presented by both camps,” Pagdanganan said.
“When I filed my election protest against him after the 2007 elections, Mendoza also filed his counterprotest, but he withdrew his protest after he found out that more and more votes will be deducted from him owing to misreading, miscounting, mistallying, misappreciation and the inclusion into counting and tallying of spurious and fake ballots in his favor,” Pagdanganan added.
He added that the ousted governor “even employed dilatory tactics after the recount was completed on July 28, 2008, and he even went to the Supreme Court…so how can he say that his ouster was manipulated owing to the alleged coalition of his new party, Partido del Pilar to the Liberal Party, which came just recently?” Pagdanganan explained. He added that Mendoza ran in the gubernatorial race in 2007 under the administration Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino party and remained loyal to the party until early November this year. “Now that he has been ousted, he is now blaming the same party that put him in power.”
“I was proclaimed the duly elected governor of Bulacan and Mendoza can go to the Supreme Court and delay my takeover to his post but he cannot deny the fact that he cheated in the election and now refuse to vacate the office of the governor and refuse to submit not only to the will of the people of Bulacan but also to the rule of law,” Pagdanganan added.

lgseccionph December 3rd, 2009, 06:24 AM Bulacan among Gawad Galing Pook awardees for outstanding local governance program
By Emil G. Gamos
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, Dec. 2 (PNA) - The Provincial Government of Bulacan bagged another prestigious award as it made it to the top 10 of the list of the Gawad Galing Pook for outstanding local governance programs.
Governor Joselito Mendoza said Bulacan’s entry, the Gawad Dr. Manuel Roxas’ Flavor of the Month, as among the top LGU programs for 2009 in the country.
Mendoza said the province’s winning entry encourages departments under the Provincial Government to innovate for more effective governance and delivery of public services.
He said it serves as a vehicle to inform and encourage the public, private and civil society to participate and support programs and projects of the Bulacan provincial government throughout the province.
It also enhances collaboration and coordination among the different agencies in the province, he added.
The project was conceived in year 2000 and has been implemented since 2001 in honor of the respected pioneer of the program, Dr. Manuel G. Roxas.
"We are happy for the honor and we will continue to yield positive impact on the community and its people, active participation of the stakeholders, and sustainability in the said program," Mendoza said.
Mendoza said this program prompted effective government-private partnership with a total of 297 partner organizations tapped in 2008.
He cited that Gawad Dr. Manuel G. Roxas’ Flavor of the Month has bred culture of excellence especially in the advocacies for fire prevention, food security, youth and employment, and sound fiscal administration and tax collection.
This is reflected through various awards conferred to Bulacan such as Pag-asa Award, Best PESO, Kalasag Hall of Fame Award and many more, he added. (PNA)

Exciting in the sense na nareduce ang laban sa 3, pero we should also take into account na EVR boy din tong si Capa and could command the Iglesia vote (too bad hindi nya nakuhang VM si Roger Drio as the latter chose to side with the AMS camp)

nctramz December 20th, 2009, 11:13 AM SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY, Bulacan – Good news for Bulakenyos.
The national and local governments have finally started negotiations for the construction of the $2-billion project extending the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) system here, City Mayor Angelito Sarmiento said Tuesday.
Sarmiento said during the consultative meeting held at Pecsonville Subdivision covered court that he expressed full support for the project because this will not only benefit his constituents but all Bulakenyos.
Sarmiento believes that the construction and the operation of the project could provide employment opportunities to the people in this city and will also enhance business in Bulacan.
Present during the meeting were representatives from the Department of Transportation and Communications, private contractors, officials of the barangays to be affected, particularly in Caloocan City, Quezon City, and San Jose Del Monte City. Also present were Councilors Celso Francisco and Giovanni Capricho, and Superintendent Reynaldo Ramirez, city police chief.

Maria pag gabi, npakaliwanag!
ICHUO_MX December 28th, 2009, 07:06 PM u mean south Luzon o southern Philippines? If it's south luzon, I don't think naiinggit sila kasi nauna naman silang naging progressive. I just hope matuto ang mga taga north sa naging problem ng south. As for southern Phils, I guess there is no need na inggitin pa sila, medyo masama kasi ang loob nila na focus ang mga national projects sa Luzon kaya gusto nilang humiwalay sa bansa or atleast maging Federal govt ang Pilipinas para magkaroon sila ng awtonomiya.
ah ganon pala yun.
