:okay: yeah, they are very quiet, neat, elegant and classical... very japanese style , but i thaught western people cannot tell the distinction between japanese gardens and China's....
well, i am enjoying japanese drama : white tower <<白色巨塔>> now, and i found that the political conflict in universies are really prevailing both in Japan and China... is that also a commonness of our tow cultures? maybe.... but we are different too, like French to German, only an oriental can perceive.

This weekend the Japanese garden in "Landgoed Clingendael" just on the border of the city of The Hague was opened to the public for the 1st time in the Autumn, usually it's only open a few weeks in the Spring. I went there yesterday and took some pictures of the garden in it's beautiful Autumn colors.

Maybe Kansai area, especially Kyoto is recommended to see authentic and impressive Japanese gardens.

Tokyo has less impressive Japanese gardens, because Tokyo's history actually started from Edo period(around 1600-) and relatively new in tradition..
Even many Japanese people go to Kyoto to see those autumn maple leaves.:)
