I'm just wondering how much is the load factor of 5J for ILO-DVO? I've noticed that they've gone 2x daily, despite having a competition with 2P.

Much admiration to davaos terminal. Its a humble yet effective version of most western countries newer airports. The big draw here is retail overlooking the check-in hall below. if Ayala can takes care of that aspect then it would be great.

SEAir operates in the Domestic Terminal like ZestAir. It is trying to brand itself now as an LCC. However, previously it was only for smaller non traditional routes.

They're well behaved here(maybe they're scared of the aussies).Probably they think of us as second class citizens and behave as if they're above us-a big mistake on their part.Well some asians do behave that way like most honkes and singaporeans.
Perhaps direct flights to and from mainland China will be good. But watch out-they can be downright nasty and arrogant too.

I was at the Airport earlier... I just noticed one thing... How come there are no flight information boards that are located at the well wishers area? (the arrival area to be exact, that area at the parking lot?) I did notice that all of the well wishers kept asking the porters and even the TFD people what flight has just arrived...or what flights were delayed... There is one flight information board/screen but the intensity of the screen is not very bright thus it is not clear even to some people who have difficulty reading.

second.. the access ramps are not covered or has no roofing... that is so discriminatory for people with disabilities and come to think of it, Davao wants an anti discrimination ordinance.

It is understandable that security is foremost but it should be implemented in such a way that it adds burden/inconvenience to other people/well wishers/passengers.

Gee Ens
January 4th, 2012, 11:43 AM
^^ What I observed in our airport is that they seem to discourage well-wishers and bystanders. Maybe after what happened before in the old terminal bombing, things are not the same anymore for security reason. You can not even pick-up your incoming passengers down at that place where you drop outgoing passengers. I guess it would be chaotic when it is allowed. They should have separate levels for incoming and outgoing passengers. The access ramp is really not only for those with disabilities but for everyone with cart luggage because the waiting areas for both the taxi and private vehicles are upstairs. Good reasons why it should be covered. :)

Tama.
Sana lahat ng airport sa pinas ay may automated flight status info sa mga well wishers at fetching areas. CAAP is so lousy upgrading airport facilities in the country.

actually meron ang DVO...unfortunately with the security concerns, the Airport mgt are not able to see the strong need to put a flight information status in the well wishers area so that the TFD/LTO and other security personnel to do their primary jobs in the first place, namely securing the area. Not becoming the information kiosks for the well wishers to get information about the flights coming in and out of Davao...

Davao is currently having almost 2 takeoffs every 30 mins to an hour since there are 18 MNL-DVO vv flights, 3 CGY-DVO vv flights, 2 DVO-ILO vv flights, 6 DVO-CEB vv flights, 2 DVO-ZAM vv flights, 1 DVO-TAG vv Flight, 2 DVO-SIN flights almost daily. and soon, 1 DVO-BPH flight. It seems though that the well-wishers area of Davao is similar to that of NAIA Terminal 1, a road away from the exit doors of the arriving guests. Also there is indeed a lack of FIDS. This should be shown to the well-wishers.

That's why I only use medium range nylon fabric luggage gang. Some people invest on very expensive PVC luxury luggages like LV or Gucci only to be smashed by these baggage handlers with zero conscience about other people's belongings.
