VENU

Video Proposal (http://www.tbo.com/video/xml/MGBQXSW8QTE.html)

www.venutampa.com

215 units prices range from $400,000-$3,000,000, and size 900 to 4000 square feet

50 stories. ~600 ft. and Approved by the City of Tampa.

Will have a lobby chandiler by Dale Chihuhly, along with 1000 sq ft. gallery

Construction to begin Mid '07

Will build portion of riverwalk along with 3200 sq. feet of retail

As soon as information comes in, it'll be posted here as well as in the Tampa forum. Expect lots of updates -we're excited about this one. A sales gallery has opened and advertising has begun. The unit cost is a bit high, but the project is quite attractive so it's difficult to see how the community will react sales wise.

Yup, same tower.

The video link I posted is really quite fantastic, too. I ought to grab a few shots from it.

Good news for Tampa, this city really needs such towers to improve the skyline

Maxim98 -

Where did you get the 550' figure ? In the video it looks considerably taller than that.

From the Tampa update page. I'm assuming Jason guestimated the height.. for some reason, the "~" that was included in the Tampa forum didn't translate when I made the topic... heh.

Anyway, it has to be close to 600', since it seems significantly taller than Bank of America.

That's definately my impression. Although developers have certainly been known to exaggerate.

Trump Tower Tampa would still probably be taller at about 181m. Bank of America is 176m, and you can see in the video that Venu is slightly taller than it. It's a tough call. Both proposals should still trump anything existing.

It looks boring IMO.I need to see a render from other angles.

What is that building to the left of it in the first rendering in the thread? The round one... anyone know the name of it?

I've just watched the video and yes,the video is fantastic, but I still don't like the building. That modernist facade you see in the first rendering ruins the entire building. It seems like they have made a new building next to an old one.

Nice video.....one question..does everyone in Tampa drive an Audi?

Maxim98

Not everyone.... only 2/3 of city residents... ;-)

Here is a MUCH higher quality video. Lots of neat touches... not only of the building, but of the strikingly accuracy with which other buildings and details are depicted.

I'd agree... the infamous parking pedestal. I think it looks better here than in most designs that you see in Florida (and the rest of the US, for that matter). They've got all sorts of cladding, screens, and such to hide that, which is much more than some developers bother to do... so I give them points for that. The parking area is simply a requisite for Florida building, since we can't really go underground efficiently and this site is along a river.
