Edit februari 17, 2009: the diagrams. No detailed instruction here. Use the white strips to fortify the structure. The base needs to be filled up entirely in order to carry the weight and to stabilize the building. The red dot signifies the size of the sphere on top. In order to get the same scale as STR's models, print these out four times smaller. Lots of luck!

Good to see you're back. :) It looks amazing, well done.

Thank you. 30 Rock was a hell of a job. At the moment I'm designing 101 Park Avenue, American International (70 Pine), Chrysler Building, General Motors, Hearst Tower, New Yorker Hotel, as well as new and improved versions of the PanAm, Lipstick, 17 State and Citigroup Center. Don't hold your breath though, It'll take some month cos of work and study.

I can post them but they lack instructions. That's the reason I didn't publish them. Let's do this: just start building it and if there's any problems, let me know.

Check later.

hey TheNightFly... uhh...i have a bit of a dilema here. How should i print this?? I mean...the images are such different sizes and either landscape or portrait, so if i just keep them as is and fit the landscape ones on portrait sheets...will it still fit with the other pages? or will i have to andle some of the sheets to be landscape? Hope you understand that blabber and can help me out...or someone else on this site...I havent tried printing anything yet but ive done one of your other models and it took a LOOOOT of tries (and paper) to get the roof to fit in the building.
P.S...I'm new to this site...and...what's with these smilies? ???

I found some way from such situation. i made pages all the same in sizes, comparing sizes of vertical and horizontal "runners" at the right and at the bottom. hope i explain correct))

I just print out the landscape if the parts are too long for the paper. That's what I did when I built STR's WTC. http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons/emoticon-cartoon-002.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php)

I didn't take enough time to make nice printable sheets. I just threw together all the elements. Lack of time, I'm sorry about that. But it should be fairly easy to copy and paste the elements onto printable sheets.

By the way, I added some missing pieces. Good luck.

Hay Nightfly

I just completed the GE Building. It is a stunning building! Lol it took me many hours to complete, I did it to STR'S size so it was pritty difficult, but definitely worth all the effort.

I'm going to go and find all of your models and build them, they look very cool!

Do all of your models need to be scaled down 75% to be the same size as STR'S?

Hi NightFly,

first of all thank you very much. It is difficult to find a so detailed model.
I have a question: which is the ideal scale for this model?

Thanksss

ausie
August 27th, 2010, 12:58 PM
^^ to answer ur question 1:1700 is the best scale for models of all heights but for such a detailed model i'd suggest perhaps 1:850.

TopoGigio
August 27th, 2010, 01:05 PM
OK, thanks,

IŽll take it into account.

ausie
August 27th, 2010, 01:54 PM
1:1700 is the most common scale found here but you can modify the scale to fit your own needs. glad to be of service

Is this model at 1:1700 scale?

skyscraperlover9595
October 15th, 2010, 10:36 PM
You have to print every page at a different scale. I would not recommend it for a beginner, this model is WAY too hard

I am going to cut out the extra details. I just want the building.

Here is a trick: To get them all to the same size, make sure the signature is the same size as the other pages

Print at 50%. That is perfect for the 1:1700 scale

This model is WAY too hard for you, because I wouldn't recommend you to build it. You might need more experience to do that. That's why I built CNTower's version, because that looks WAY easier.

January 26th, 2011, 12:32 PM
