Oh my god, Virtual earth is so much better than Google Earth! Cardiff city center is almost completely done in 3d, and there is full birds eye views (you can see the sides of the buildings from North, south east and west) of the enitre city and surounds.
What other cities are covered in birds eye and 3d views?

It is good but my town is very out of date. Most pictures are from around 2000-01 but atleast it is possible to view up close.
It isn't very good for close up views unless you are looking at the UK or US, though. Google Earth is better for abroad.

You use the compass on screen and the picture rotates.

no changing North south east and west is still birds eye view, in Cardiff 95% of the buildings are done in 3d with facades (like 3d warehouse for google).

The one of Preston is fantastic. Full coverage and the pictures must have been taken this year at some point.
