View Full Version : ROME | Green Tower | 130m | Canceled
CAESARS-PALACe April 17th, 2007, 05:04 PM A new skyscraper has been approved in Rome. It's a residential tower designed by Jean Marc Schivo. It will be a bio-climatic building, fully respecting sustainability standards (photovoltaic cells, rainwater recovery, natural ventilation, microclimate regulation, double walls, wide terraces, greenhouse on the top...). This reduces with 70% the environmental pollution compared to a traditional building of the same volume.
It will become a great landmark for the people arriving in Rome from the Leonardo Da Vinci airport.

mybeer April 17th, 2007, 05:12 PM Very nice, i like it.
one of the best new buildings in Italy
how much will be high?
3tmk April 17th, 2007, 05:30 PM drop the helipad and it will look much better
tugavalenciano April 17th, 2007, 06:40 PM looks great||||
DrT April 17th, 2007, 06:54 PM That helipad on the top and crown are atrocious. Commuting by helicopter is not exactly "green".
potipoti April 17th, 2007, 09:27 PM Does anybody know the height???
Taylorhoge April 17th, 2007, 10:09 PM This looks great I thought it was being built in the center of the city for a second before it said it would be near the airport.
ZZ-II April 17th, 2007, 10:11 PM nice tower, looks good
TohrAlkimista April 17th, 2007, 10:38 PM Does anybody know the height???
The tower would be 130m!:)
there are other 5 towers that will be realized in Roma for the next years, from 100 till 160 m. But most of all, should be residential towers as this one.
Miso April 17th, 2007, 10:59 PM Fantastic, great for the skyline in rome, great for the enviorenment and great for the design!!!!....
i like the helipad....
Sentient Seas April 18th, 2007, 02:21 AM Looks like a very nice tower. But, the helipad on top makes it look funny. They should get rid of that. Otherwise I love the design.
Boeing! April 18th, 2007, 02:48 AM This looks great I thought it was being built in the center of the city for a second before it said it would be near the airport.
Rome city center can't be touched!:)
Phobos April 18th, 2007, 04:48 AM I don't like the mix of claddings they will use because it looks messy, however, the green balconies are nice and it will add some character to the building. Is this close to E.U.R.?
Skyman April 18th, 2007, 10:26 AM Nice tower, good design, especially like the gardens in that project
SkyLerm April 18th, 2007, 02:32 PM Well i use to like most of the tower but but that helipad....Nice project BTW :D
Mikec April 18th, 2007, 02:47 PM Great to see some 'talls' going up in Rome. I have to agree with most other posts, helipad needs to go. Looks dated compared to the rest of the tower.
Lance April 18th, 2007, 10:52 PM looks like something from transport tycoon or sim city. Not a bad design... just looks a bit messy towards the top. Nothing wrong with the helipad in my opinion, just the bit in between that and the rest of it.
Bori427 April 18th, 2007, 11:18 PM Looks very nice
colemonkee April 19th, 2007, 12:19 AM I like it. It wears it's functionality (the green features - photo-voltaic panels, green balconies, etc.) on it's sleeve, so it a way, it's like a structurally expressive tower (re: John Hancock) that instead of expressing it's structure expresses it's environmental friendliness.
And for some reason, the helipad doesn't bother me. Perhaps that's because I'm from L.A., where every building is required to have one, so I guess I'm used to them.
TouristMan April 19th, 2007, 12:34 AM This looks great I thought it was being built in the center of the city for a second before it said it would be near the airport.
In the centre of the city? It's impossible! :)
Middle-Island April 19th, 2007, 08:14 AM I think that leaves Athens as the only city not on the high-rise bandwagon.
GENIUS LOCI April 20th, 2007, 05:55 PM ^^
That's not the only skyscraper forecasted for Rome (and I know even Athens got projects of skyscrapers)
ALKUN April 20th, 2007, 11:48 PM I LOVE IT

Joe 2007 April 28th, 2007, 08:27 PM I love this and think it looks amazing! Are there any other skyscrapers planned in Rome?
TohrAlkimista April 28th, 2007, 08:34 PM I love this and think it looks amazing! Are there any other skyscrapers planned in Rome?

Joe 2007 April 28th, 2007, 08:47 PM I meant the Euro parco!
Joe 2007 April 28th, 2007, 08:47 PM Thanks! I like the Muratella Tower, Inail Tower & the green project looks promising.
TohrAlkimista April 28th, 2007, 08:50 PM there is also another project, talking about highrises, that I've not already posted of another scraper of about 150m! :)
Bitxofo April 29th, 2007, 04:42 PM Strange design...
:sly:
giovani kun April 29th, 2007, 04:57 PM yes yes we all love it..but there still reamins a question...!! are they gonna put the plants too ..?? or they will forget about that small.... detail...or the company who will rent might just decide that it doesn't need them...!!!..so the tower will lose the green specification from it's name...@_@
Ralphkke April 30th, 2007, 09:29 PM A great tower but not for Rome i think, when i hear Rome i think about the old architecture.
Kailyas January 28th, 2008, 10:05 AM nice design
Buyckske Ruben February 21st, 2008, 11:51 AM Very nice end they will start begin this year and completion is expected around 2010
Photovoltaic cells will produce energy for the tower. There will also be rainwater recovery, natural ventilation, microclimate regulation, double walls, wide terraces. All this gives a 70% reduction in environmental pollution compared to a traditional building of the same volume.
Xabi February 21st, 2008, 12:10 PM It looks nice!
:)
LeMoN-SK February 21st, 2008, 01:03 PM Looks good, I am not so sure about the helipad though...
Rhoy February 21st, 2008, 02:58 PM Agreed.. btw the helipad might be a pure speculation which is likely to fall in the final version since a residential tower has no real need of such structure.
Densetsu February 21st, 2008, 08:07 PM nice tower, looks good. and i agree with the people who says the tower look better without the heliport
sieradzanin1 August 9th, 2011, 12:34 PM News ? Update ?
