View Full Version : Tragedy in the U.S (VaTech Massacre) DennisRodman April 18th, 2007, 09:51 AM My prayers go out to the family of the ones lost in this stupid acts of violence. But I honestly think that a country like the USA who are always on "high sercurity alert" , should have done a better job when the 1st shooting was reported, honestly this guy had 2 hours until he did the major damage. My prayers also go out to the families that lost their loved ones & to those who were injured. dysan1 April 18th, 2007, 01:12 PM The one thing i do not comprehend is why oh why do these mass shootings at colleges in the US take place so regularily? They basically never happen anywhere else in the world. But kids go loopy at US institutions all the time. Secondly, the tech should be in shit for taking 2 hours to notify everyone of the initial shooting, esp when no one was apprehended. Its a terrible situation for those involved, and somethign no one should have to face. HirakataShi April 18th, 2007, 03:13 PM .... relation to South Africa? Yes this is a tragedy, but it has nothing to do with South Africa. dysan1 April 18th, 2007, 03:37 PM who said anything about south africa? GregPz April 18th, 2007, 05:20 PM Very sad. Several exchange students from this campus are currently studying at Free State University. Its easy for jimmy, trent or mike to get a gun at a store in the states....all this guy did was provide his I.D and they did a background check and he got the gun. Its funny how they make weed illegal and guns can be legal. Gun doesnt kill people, humans kill people. The U.S need to learn from other countries to tighten the gun laws in America. We still havent learn from the columbine shooting and I am sure this wont be the last shooting in U.S schools. Very true....the school should have been shut down after the first shooting...people die everyday in iraq.....when u hear 32 people died in iraq it wont even make the front headlines cuz its a daily routine over there but when it happens in america suburbs america wants the world to stop and show their condolences. Crime occurs in innercity America but CNN dont care about it but when it happens in the suburbs....they go Oh my God.... I guess they think school is so safe and free of crime they thought it wasnt a big deal, i guess thats why it wasnt shut down. Then people want to blame Hip Hop music, video games and movies for a crime that was done by someone that is clearly retarded and depressed that needed help but never got any. Durbsboi April 19th, 2007, 10:47 AM I heard there are videos that were recorded by the shooter, heard one on the radio, sounds pretty scary, knowing what he did after he recorded the vid DennisRodman April 19th, 2007, 08:45 PM Ya i saw the video...it reminded me of the columbine shooting where those dudes made tapes. dysan1 April 20th, 2007, 12:27 AM While this incident is terrbily sad for those involved, it is not at all unexpected. What u say is right. Basically nothing is said of millions dying in wars all around africa or in iraq everyday. But 2000 people die in the WTC and 32 in this shooting and the world must bow down and feel sorry for america. blah blah blah. You reap what you sow dysan1 April 20th, 2007, 12:37 AM i want to point out tho that the above statement is not anti americans, but anti the way that the press in that country overportrays incidents in their country and totally trivialises those in others. DennisRodman April 20th, 2007, 01:34 AM ^^ That is kinda Anti-American....u know with the war going on in iraq u expect tragedies.....when this sort of tragedy occurs in america its not really often like it is in iraq. America is the leader of the world so they expect everybody to kiss their ass and thats exactly what the world does. And what you mean by you reap what you sow? Why does everybody hates america? Durbsboi April 20th, 2007, 10:35 AM Coz of how they potray them self, they are a world super power fine, but they cant expect the world to agree on every decision they make. They got the military capablity of destroying the whole world, & they pick on which ever country they want. Its got nothing to do with the citizens that live there, but the politicians. Jakes1 April 20th, 2007, 01:40 PM ^^ That is kinda Anti-American....u know with the war going on in iraq u expect tragedies.....when this sort of tragedy occurs in america its not really often like it is in iraq. America is the leader of the world so they expect everybody to kiss their ass and thats exactly what the world does. And what you mean by you reap what you sow? Why does everybody hates america? Before going to war in 2003 bush said that 200 000 Iraqi lives would be acceptable in terms of losses. I wonder if 200 000 US lives would be worth it? Are we to assume that Iraqi's are lesser human beings? That they are not worth as much as those in the west? 200 000 human lives is a high price to pay for freedom, but I can tell you now if freedom had to cost 200 000 american lives the whole scheme would have been abandoned. 32 was lost - their families ripped apart. And still, maniacs in the states will continue to buy guns and kill innocent people - because of the second amendment. The same day 160 died in Bhagdad - but of course we are left to assume that they expected to die because they are Iraqi. We are told to accept their loss as normal. But when americans (or westerners) die, it is abnormal. Because we must live untill we are 80. Its our right? One thing seems to fly past americans (i am generalising, so bear with me). The pain, trauma and lack of safety that you felt after Sept 11, after columbine and now after virginia tech - all other nations feel the same pain and trauma. 32 students died - on the same day a 160 died in Iraq - all of these families are hit by the same burden of grief. And I do sympathise with the victims and their families, but remember that many others are going through the same... And their pain is not any less than american pain. DennisRodman April 20th, 2007, 06:23 PM ^^ You couldnt have said it any better, and I applaud you for that. Its just that these kind of things dont happen in america everyday....some maniacs just gets up and just go into a class and shoots people....it doesnt happen often in the developed world...most of the deaths in iraq are cuz of war but there are also terrorist in iraq killing civilians like they some kind of roach u step on. But dont try to say most americans dont care about the lives lost in iraq...lives are lost in the middleeast everyday war or no war...its the way that region is ..death is a way of life to them...its a daily routine to them....they are used to it...its not a routine here in america...so thats when something like this happens its shocking to americans and the rest of the world. kulani April 20th, 2007, 06:33 PM trust me no one is used to death. perhaps its better to say that the rest of us who aren't experiencing it are getting used to death happening in Iraqi. But the Iraqis who are experiencing this will never get used to it. A tragedy of the kind that happened in Iraqi is no less than the one that happened in Virginia Tech. No doubt ....but u cant compare a war zone to a peaceful zone.....thats what i meant by saying they use to seeing people die everyday. dysan1 April 21st, 2007, 02:22 PM Events like this one will continue to rise in america and become more frequent. And i really wont be surprised if more deadly ones start to happen. it seems only a matter of time. DennisRodman April 21st, 2007, 08:18 PM ^^ why u being negative. |
