Poland could easily host this by them self's. Chorzów and Krakov will be ready, even Legias new stadium could be used.

But for political reasons Poland 6/4 venues and Ukraine 2 would make most logical sense.

Top pics. Poznan looks bigger that what it is, I think it's the three levels and the quite steep sides that do it. I think the roof is also fairly encompassing as far as open roofs go.

What a treat for the local team supporters. Talk about an upgrade!

It looks like it looks ;) Maybe in Bundesliga it would have 60 thoustand places, because there can be standing places, contrary to Poland. But 44k seats is definitely logical capacity for Poznan.

Martin Kallen in Poland

For the Polish arrived on Tuesday, organizing director of the Euro 2012 tournament, Martin Kallen. The first stage of his visit was Gdańsk. Later UEFA representative will travel to Warsaw, Poznan and Wroclaw.

http://obrazy.2012.org.pl/images/stories/aktualnosci/kallen110510_pap.jpg

Martin Kallen immediately upon arrival in Gdansk visited the construction site of a new passenger terminal and taxiways at the airport Gdańsk im. Lech Walesa, and watched the stadium being built in Letnica.

"The rate of stadium construction in Gdansk is impressive, but I'm not that amazed. At home in the office I have a monitors to preview all generated objects, and therefore progress on these stadiums I have been following to date. In Gdansk been very positive impression on me and the expansion of the airport . Previously stayed in that city in November and I have an excellent benchmark. The speed with which the airport is expanded, bodes well for Gdansk, which aspires to host quarter-final match. And precisely the airport, not the stadium, is the key to receiving such appointment, "- said PAP Martin Kallen.

Kallen also referred to the speculation concerning the possibility to play the championship, with the problems of Ukraine, only in two cities of this country, or transfer them to Germany or Hungary.

"So far, nothing has changed. UEFA official position is that the European Championships in 2012 will be held in four Polish and four Ukrainian cities. We're constantly monitoring the situation in Ukraine and I will not conceal that this country has a lot of delays and fewer time to catch up. We hope that the new authorities will cope with these problems. However, we must all realize that the dates of some investments will not move indefinitely. Within two months, everything should be clarified. It is clear and our position on Kiev. If capital is not ready, Ukraine will lose Championship "- emphasized the representative of UEFA.

"The Polish side still hopes that this does not happen. Seven years ago, it was Ukraine invited us to take the fight for the right to organize the European Championships in 2012. That battle won, and now we want to jointly perform Slavic championship. I believe that under agreed with our opening match will take place in Warsaw, and the final meeting in Kiev "- added the accompanying Kallenowi tournament director of Euro 2012 and Football Association vice-president Adam Olkowicz.

Almost. Contracts have been signed and construction has been greelighted for the Dębica - Rzeszów Zachód section (32,8 km) and then bypass of Rzeszów itself (10,5 km). We are still waiting for them to sign the contract for the 34,8 km section between Tarnów and Dębica. Once that section is signed the last one left is Rzeszów Wschód – Jarosław (41,2 km). Then the A4 will be complete and you can drive all the way to the Ukrainian border. :)

Poland may host Euro 2012 alone if Ukraine not ready

WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland may host Euro 2012 alone if Ukraine's stadiums are not ready, UEFA project director Martin Kallen said during a visit to Warsaw on Wednesday, May 12.

Matches at the tournament are scheduled to be held in four Polish and four Ukrainian venues but economic troubles, a severe winter and political tensions have exacerbated delays in Ukraine's preparations for the 16-nation tournament.

"As long as we can play in four cities in Ukraine we will go for it. If that is no longer the case then we would look for other options... One of them is to play more games in Poland," Kallen told reporters.

"It does not mean that new venues would be needed. The tournament can be played at four stadiums," he added.

The four Ukrainian venues for the tournament are the capital Kiev and the cities of Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv.

The former Soviet republic was given a two-month deadline to speed up its preparations, mainly work on the Kiev stadium which is due to host the final and on the stadium in the western city of Lviv near the Polish border.

Kallen said the decision on whether Ukraine would host the tournament in all four cities would be made in coming months.

UEFA's representative was happy with Warsaw's preparations but added there were problems with the airports in the three remaining Polish host cities -- Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk.

There were also question marks about work at two of the stadiums, he added.

"I can say more about the problems with the stadiums in Poznan and Wroclaw once I visit them," said Kallen, who is due to visit the cities on Thursday.

The airports in Wroclaw and Gdansk are under construction. So is the stadium in Wroclaw now, no problems with that and the stadium in Poznan is nearly completed. The only problem is the Poznan Airport, which I happen to work at :) Lets hope all goes well, tomorrow I will hopefully get to meet Mr. Kallen at work and see what he has to say about Poland's preps for the tournaments.

Martin Kallen at the National Stadium in Warsaw

On Wednesday, UEFA Euro 2012 director Martin Kallen visited Warsaw. It is part of a three-day tour of Poland, during which work is to assess progress in preparations for the European Championships. The visit to the capital was very pleased.

http://stadionnarodowy.org.pl/images/news/12052010/galeria/P5120021a.jpg

During talks with representatives of the media expressed the belief that the tournament will be held in Poland and Ukraine. However, he stressed that UEFA is considering alternative options, if the state of progress in Ukraine were not satisfactory.

"We focus on option four cities in Poland - four in Ukraine. If you can not prepare for the four cities in Ukraine, think about possible solutions. One of them is played more matches in Poland. I'm not saying that the game would include additional cities - You can play after the tournament at four stadiums - Kallen explained, but noted that the optimal solution in this case would be preparing for at least six buildings.

"Ukraine is working very hard. The new government took power, and promises to accelerate the work. What is clear - the preparations are on the same level as in Poland. But I am an optimist. Also assure that no plan B is not prepared. I hope that the decision variant four and four + + will be made in the coming months "- he added.

In Warsaw, Kallen looked built National Stadium. Then meet with President Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and the sports minister Adam Giersz. On Thursday will see the progress in Poznan and Wroclaw.

"The stadium looks great. The last time I visited him two months ago and it is hard to know him now. You can see great progress. Overall, Warsaw is not a problem - in fact everything needed for Euro 2012 is already in place. Are needed only minor changes" - he stressed.

"The main problems are airports in Poland in Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw. The problems associated with the stadiums in Poznan, Wroclaw and I will be able to speak until after the visit - Kallen ended.

Motorways for sure, Poland currently lags behind in good railway infrastructure.

Maybe we will catch up with airports, motorways and roads will surely be the same quality as Spain, Italy or France however, the network will not be as vast unfortunately.

Railway will definitely improve, hundreds of new trains have been ordered, but our railway stations still need a lot !!! of work. I dont believe that we will ever have as good of railway infrastructure as France or Germany. In 2020 or even 2012 it will be good, or OK, but will still lag behind German or French railway.

most European countries before even 2040 won't have that good railways as Germany and France have (with no even mention about Poland ). Their railway network is one of the best and largest in the world and I don't think that Europe will improve their railways shortly :/

Kallen: Wroclaw stadium will be ready for sure

The meeting with the city, a visit to the worksite stadium for Euro 2012 and the construction of a new airport terminal, the main points of the director of residence on Thursday the European Football Championships in Wroclaw Martin Kallen.

http://obrazy.2012.org.pl/images/stories/aktualnosci/kallen_wroclaw_pap.jpg

During the several-hour visit in the Swiss capital of Lower Silesia, he met with Mayor Rafal Dutkiewicz, those responsible for the construction of the facility from the company's engineers in 2012 and the stadium's main contractor Boegl Max.

"We watched not only the current state of work, but also plans for next time. At present, the construction can not see too much yet, but received assurances that within the next two months, a lot will change. Finished parts of the structure to be produced and ried straight construction site. We are confident that the stadium will be ready "- said Kallen.

Currently, the site takes concreting the roof level plus one, and the concreting of stairways, windowych, walls and poles. In mid-June is expected to start assembly bolts, which are to be based platform. Reinforced concrete elements close to a hundred arrives from Germany to the capital of Lower Silesia special trains. The heaviest of the bolts will have a length of more than 40m and will be weigh 110 tons.

Director of the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland, Adam Olkowicz added that during a meeting with the city authorities also heard about the concept of transportation in the city centers, permits for the teams, volunteer work and safety.

Kallen was in Poland with a three-day visit, during which visited four cities - hosts of Euro 2012 tournament. First visited Gdańsk, followed by Warsaw and Poznan and Wroclaw Thursday. "From previous visits to the real picture emerges actually carried out the preparations," - stressed Olkowicz.

In the next week to Wroclaw has come to visit another group of experts of UEFA.

It is awesome to see PGE Arena already installing the roof parts. If we would look at Kyiv for comparison, where the stadium wasn't built from the ground but its main part already existed and that only recently there began same parts installation, it is very clear how in Poland things go much smoother than in Ukraine. But maybe the thing is that Poland overdoes its aims so that to have everything finished a year before the tournament, not as they want it in UA - half year before or even later..?

Of course not only by plane, according to the plan all the main roads should be reconstrated or at least they should have smooth surface. But now it's hard to say what exactly rosds and when all depends on maney. For example Kyiv-Chop should be reconstraсted, new road will be constracted from Polish border to Lviv.

If you are upset because I said somethink about your politics, please notice, that Poland also was communist country not that long ago and I would never insult anyone because of that :) But if you blame me because I said there is so big gap there between the stand and the pitch - I just shown my point of view, I didn't day it's terrible or something like that, Chorzow's stadium got that gap as well, so why would I say anything bad about stadium in Kyiv? I can answer your question regarding road quality from Polish border to Lviv. It really depends on where you are coming from: If you're driving from Przemysl through Medyka/Shegyni then the road quality to Lviv will be poor (by European standards). If, however, you're going from Korczowa/Krakovets, then the quality of the road there is actually good, but not great, but it's still much better than the one coming from Medyka. The road from Lviv to Kyiv via Rivne is superb (or regular European quality ;) ) so I would recommend taking this way instead of going through other roads (although I don't know if it even makes sense to take any other road, as the M06 is the main highway from the border to Kyiv). Any questions feel free to ask :)

thanks.

I read that: http://euro2012highway.blogspot.com/2009/06/m-06-road-kiev-chop-ukraine-06.html
and it looks like M06 (on route Lwów-Kyiv) has some non-motorway gaps (I mean non-collision crossing, dual carrige-lanes).

how many km of M06 are still represented by non regular motorway ?

and second thing: are there any research done in terms of traffic volume for the tournament ?
for example: 20% of traffic goes by train, 40% by plane, 40% by car/bus

That doesn't change the fact, that our anti-flood strategies are outdated. we have something like weather prognosis, right?

Virgileq
May 19th, 2010, 12:27 AM
You can never prognose such abnormal heavy raining.
After that raining you have about 24h to react (depends on region and distances)

You can make some modeling now, but it's much better just to count volumes of water and observe flood head according to hydroglogical stations measurings.

but the more important thing is: First make people safe then after cranes and other stuff, so please... this photo shows they made it right.

kal323Ci
May 19th, 2010, 08:29 AM
There is also another side to that.. INSURANCE. There is a law that states that if you were trying to drive (car, crane etc) and your vehicle "drowned", you did not ensure the safe enviroment for your vehicle, and the insurance company doesnt have to pay you.
EVEN IF YOU WERE TRYING TO SAVE THE VEHICLE.

They even made an announcment on TV that if people are leaving, not to take their cars. Its safer just to leave it where it is and not to take a chance with the insurance companies

There is a principle that most of the buildings at night looks better. It is no different in this case. These colors are simply less intense. So much so can not see the ugliness of this stadium.

This is unfortunately true. The stadium will never be at the forefront of architecture

This is not main, how is looking stadium in Kharkov (in any cities)
The main here is a fans and football atmosfer.

Thanks for the updates. Gdansk stadium just impresses with its shapes!

Concerning Kharkiv stadium, guys, leave it alone, it's Ukraine after all, isn't this clear that the design there is made on an outdated base, so they count in that case quantity, not quality (although Metallist Stadium is very tough made). But it can hold the needed amount of spectators, and is accepted by all the requirements of UEFA, that's why it is just ok with that!

You're talking about functionality and the atmosphere resulting from the presence of football fans. I agree, this is important. But these two elements can not dominate of the architecture of the building. Stadium in Kiev will also be functional and will be the atmosphere of the fans, but it is also aesthetic. The same applies to Donetsk or (if created) in Lviv. Not to mention the Polish stadiums.

By translation - "important that the stadium is functional," created just such an architectural monsters.

The architecture goes hand in hand with functionality, which further enhances the atmosphere resulting from the presence of fans.

Triceratops: You're right. It is important that the stadium meets all requirements. But pity that no thought was beyond the requirements even of its aesthetics. I'm not talking about architecture because architecture is the creation of cool for those architects have been too hard ...

And forgive me for my English :)

It didn't absolutely have any influence on the stadium. The stadium is much higher there.

^ Very good then! But as for that area around the stadium - will it be built up coz now it doesn't even look urban..?

It will surely be built, but we still don't know what may be built there. In 2008 the actual government (Ministry of Sport) wanted to build a sport complex, but there was some corruption propose from a certain bussinesman and they refused it. The bussinesman wanted flats there and he was strongly supported by our Ministry of Sport (who later has been accused for corruption within).

So we surely know there will be something, but still don't know what precisly. For now, it's impossible (due to law) to build anything else than sport facilities. Maybe they will change it, but that costs time.

I have just said this motorway boom is about to end and that I don't like this trend. There is someone responsible for it, so there is no reason to hide it, I think.

Everything what is U/C now will be built ofcourse, but many very important roads will wait years, before we will have the chance to complete them. It's a very bad news for Poland who desperatly needs new road investments.

Of course they plan to cut on motorways, but after they build basic net, so it's about 2013-2015 i think. Then they'll invest much $ into railways, incl. high-speed.

Locke
June 1st, 2010, 01:10 AM
Well I hope they don't think it's job done once they get the basic net up, because it certainly won't be. Having said that I'm sure they'll turn some attention to rail which will need to be modernised. At the end of the day though, as a motorway buff, keep em coming I say.

Construction of new customs checkpoint launched on Ukrainian-Polish border

http://www.kyivpost.com/data/thumbs/262/197/P/c/iblock/articles/68308/4611.jpg
The construction of a new customs checkpoint, Budomierz-Hrushiv, has been launched on the Ukrainian-Polish border as part of preparations for hosting the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine.

The construction of a new customs checkpoint, Budomierz-Hrushiv, has been launched on the Ukrainian-Polish border as part of preparations for hosting the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine.

The press service of Lviv Regional State Administration told Interfax-Ukraine that First Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Myron Yankiv and Governor of Poland's Subcarpathian Province Miroslaw Karapyta had buried a time capsule at the site of the construction of a new international automobile checkpoint on May 31.

Yankiv said that this investment project would be completed in two years. He noted that the Ukrainian side was planning to develop road infrastructure and build an access road through Hrushiv to an international highway. The amount of investment will be about $20 million.

"Lviv Regional Governor Vasyl Horbal and Karapyta should soon hold a meeting to continue talks on cross-border cooperation and the development of the Ukrainian-Polish border," Yankiv said.

The customs checkpoint will be built using the funds of Poland.

Four checkpoints are currently operating in Lviv region on the border with Poland.

That's good, but is the further infrastructure after you cross that border convenient for those travelling by car into Ukraine? Unless there's built a motorway PL border-Lviv-Kyiv, only then there's point investing into all that, but who would chose to enter Ukraine if the roads there are not kept in good condition?! Maybe someone could provide more info about the improvements on that stretch?

Ukrainian News Agency
The European Football Associations (UEFA) has affirmed the right of Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv, and Kharkiv to hosting matches of the Euro 2012 European football championship finals.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the information center Ukraine-2012.
According to a press secretary for Vice Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov, the supervisory board endorsed this decision in Switzerland on Wednesday.
The statement reads that experts of UEFA have visited Kyiv and Lviv ahead of the meeting of the supervisory board to study the situation in details on the construction sites and submitted their reports to the supervisory board.
At the same time, Kolesnikov said the next check of the course of the preparations in Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv, and Kharkiv will be in September 2010.
Vice Prime Minister Kolesnikov assured that all four Ukrainian cities will host matches of EURO-2012.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Vice Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov expects significant progress in the preparations for the Euro 2012 European football championship finals in August and September 2010.
The supervisory board of the European Football Associations (UEFA) considered Ukraine's preparation for the 2012 European football championships at a meeting on June 2.
On April 9, the supervisory board of UEFA convened a meeting in Switzerland to consider Ukraine's preparations for the Euro 2012 European football championship finals.
UEFA obliged Ukraine to show certain progress in the preparations within two months.

If you ask me, I'll probably guarantee you I'll be there, whether Latvia would qualify (if it would than nothing would stop me ;)) or not, I really hope to get to few matches! But, about the prices, they just must to reduce them at least comparing with the last tournament because of the real income of the locals, if it will be counted as of Ukrainians, then the tickets would be sold out in an hour! :)

Ukrainian goverment will pass a law to make all the tickets free of taxes. That will lower the price of tickets.

kal323Ci

also when the price is to high demand stagnates genius. Charging 200 euro for a ticket in switzerland or austria isnt such a big deal. Charging 800 zloty for a ticket in Poland is ridiculous.

So how to explain that people in Poland were killing for those tickets? There was much bigger demand then supply.

By the way, as far as i can remember the most expensive tickets(for group matches) were about 100 euro.

MiguelWawa
June 7th, 2010, 09:53 AM
Since I've been an active ticket buyer ;) before FIFA World Cup 2006 and UEFA EURO 2008, here are my remarks on that issue.

First phase will take place in Spring 2011.

There might be some sale's restrictions. At EURO 2008 every applicant could place an order for maximum 4 tickets a game and for maximum one game a day (f.e. there was 19 tournament's days so one could apply for tickets for 19 games and 4 tix for each of them). It gave a lot of more possibilities comparing to WC2006 where an applicant could place an orger for maximum 4 tickets, but only for 7 different games).

There would be two types of tix: individual match tickets and "follow my team" tickets. Placing an order for individual match tickets excludes placing an order for FMT tickets and vice versa.

Since the qualifiers concludes in the middle of November 2011 you may wonder how can you apply on March or April? It's quite simple actually.

Let's start with FMT tix. Being a Polish you can apply for FMT Poland, but you can choose a different team as your team and apply for FMT Ukraine (those team are sure of playing at EURO 2012) or FMT Spain. You can apply as well for FMT Albania or FMT San Marino. After your team qualifies your order is being processed and your credit card charged. When your team fails to qualify your order is being cancelled.

FMT usually are the tickets of middle price category (cat.2 or cat 3) which usually means that your seat would behind the goal or somewhere in the corner. There are FMT Group, FMT 1/4, FMT 1/2, FMT Final. Let's say you are a believer and applied for FMT Poland Final. You are being charged for 6 games and before tournament you will receive the tickets for first 3 group games and 3 vouchers that one can switch into tickets only if his team qualifies to next round. Let's say Poland will get to the semis and would lost it. You will not be able to converse your last voucher into final game ticket but approx. one month after the tournament you will be refunded by UEFA for the game you did't see because your team failed to qualify to the final.

Applying for IMT is different. Knowing the schedule f.e. you chose a game in Wrocław B2-B4 (game of group B between teams drown under position 2 and 4 during the final tournament draw on December 2011). You know the city and the day - you don't know who will play there until the draw (except for Poland and Ukraine - those teams would be seeded under position 1 in their respective groups and will play of course 3 games in its capital cities). So you would apply f.e. for game in Warsaw POL-A2, POL-A3 and POL-A4.

Buying IMT you don't depend on the performance of your team and you will see given match for sure. But during the first phase it's rather random.

There could be other sale's phases after the qualifing. Other way to get tickets it would be through your national football federation after your team qualifies. It might take place somewhere arounn Winter/early Spring 2012.

OK. That's all for now.

Two years to go until UEFA EURO 2012

Poland and Ukraine will reach another significant milestone next week with a series of events in the co-host nations marking two years to go until kick-off at UEFA EURO 2012 on 8 June 2012.

On Monday, Polish tournament director Adam Olkowicz will hold an official press conference to give media representatives a detailed update on preparations for the tournament. Marcin Herra, chairman of the Polish government's PL.2012 board, will also be on hand to give an insight into the progress being made in the operational matters under his control.

A day later, a flowerbed depicting the distinctive UEFA EURO 2012 logo will be unveiled by the mayor and other distinguished guests in Wroclaw. A similar ceremony in Poznan has been delayed until Friday 11 June due to flooding in the region, while flood water has also postponed a similar ceremony in Warsaw. There will be no special flowerbed in Gdansk.

Between 7 and 9 June, EURO flowerbeds will also be inaugurated in the Ukrainian host cities, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv and Donetsk, while additional celebrations in Lviv and Donetsk will mark the start of a direct air flight service between the two cities.

Ukrainian tournament director Markiian Lubkivskyi said: "It was the local organising committee's idea to make a flowerbed with each UEFA EURO 2012 logo, and the host cities carried it out with a lot of enthusiasm. The flowerbeds symbolise the coming of this fantastic football festival."

Each Ukrainian host city will also unveil their own specific logo and Mr Lubkivskyi added: "The logos were created by UEFA according to sketches provided by the host cities and were only approved a few days ago. The municipal authorities have done substantial and painstaking work to find symbols to suit their cities."

They had some problems with greenies, but now they have permission for building. Works didn't started yet (I live 2km from that place), but they possibly will in July. Airport probably won't be done before Euro, but who knows. It would help Lviv and maybe Warsaw. Runway will be 2520 meters long. There will be tram line directly from airport to city centre.

For many Poles and Ukrainians, prestiges infrastructures (such as big stadiums) are perhaps what is most important to show the world in 2012.
It is a mistake, I think we should use such events to improve the infrastructure that will serve the daily lives of most citizens: efficient and modern urban transports , a rail competitive (and superior) in comparison to the road, then a basic network of motorways, finally regional airports. All these facilities must serve the development of the country's long term and improve the daily lives of its citizens.
In 2004, Portugal has almost entirely relied on the construction of huge stadiums now are proving to be expensive white elephants verry expensive to maintain.
Greece had the intelligence to use the 2004 Olympics as an opportunity to revolutionize the transport infrastructure of Athens. They done in 5 years what they would perhaps never done (and anyway , population would never accept such disturbs without such an objective!).

I hope that our Poles and Ukrainians friends will use this very punctual event to serve their long-term development.

Good luck.

Yep well Euro 2012 is pretty much just a good reason for a lot of massive infrastructure projects in Poland (and due to GFC reasons, to a lesser extent in the Ukraine as well).

You need only look through this thread to see the thousands of kilometres of freeways, airports, bridges, hotels, railway improvements etc etc to see the benefits, which are going to be long term.

Euro 2012 is IMO a massive benefit, especially for Poland, and they certainly are making the most of it I think.

Poland didn't qualify to the 2010 World Cup for a reason. We have only handful of average players on the national team. The rest plays like amateurs. It will be a miracle if they get themselves ready for any serious competition in two years time. It would be very sad day to see Poland lose in the opening games of the Euro 2012 tournament. the performance of the Polish football team has made me stop watching any matches since Spain 1982. let us be realistic. we will not achieve any good results during euro2012. I hope the goverment programme (stadiony - Orliki) will bring fruits in next 10 years, no earlier. anyway we can only focus on money benefits in terms of euro2012 - this is what is "left" for Poles.

I fully agree with what Sylver wrote. actually almost everybody in Poland shares that opinion, but looks like we cannot do anything about it.

Ukraine to exempt UEFA from VAT on EURO 2012 tickets (http://en.euro2012.ukrinform.ua/news/p26475/)
Viktor Yanukovych signed a law according to which Ukraine exempts from tax sale of tickets for the final of EURO 2012 matches which take place in four Ukrainian cities.

President of Ukraine approved the relevant amendments in the Law of Ukraine "On value added tax" - published on the website of Guarantor. Besides the release from VAT ticket sales, UEFA received the same tax preferences for services during the preparation and holding the championship.

Changes related to Article 11 paragraph 11.48 - contributed to its second paragraph: "temporarily for the duration of the Law of Ukraine" On organization and holding European Championship 2012 final part in Ukraine "exempt from the value added tax operations and ticketing services provided by UEFA during preparation and holding the championship final part. List of services provided by UEFA and exempt from the value added tax is determined by a separate law.

Nope, there will be also temp. terminal constructed which will work only for the arrivals of departures and they didn't completly finished with the terminal on the photos.

Also, Lviv Stadio 11.06.10 (all photos by our ukranian forumer from Lviv Tushkan (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/member.php?u=204160))

Some terrific progress compared to the same period half year ago if looking in general! I'm really impressed that Lviv managed to find money for the construction, so now all should go fine! Maybe they could start thinkig about roads finally..

Poznan should be really cozy stadium as for the visitors, the fact that it is a completely closed stadium makes fine impression from the inside. They might be even installing hockey field there f.i. as it was done a month ago for the opening match at 'Veltins-Arena' football stadium in Gelsenkirchen, which made a record of the capacity for the hockey championships - 75k people! Some great perspectives makes a stadium with a closing roof! ;)

Indeed, Poznan looks really big.

Terrific, it's got a nice big stadium atmosphere, probably thanks to the height of the stadium probably, which seems on the tall side.

I wanted to say that Pozan stadium would be the only indoor stadium of all both in Poland and Ukraine what makes it really unique and at the same time would create amazing atmosphere inside!

Am I right that Warsaaw NS has reached its max height? Seems so because those metal pillars are already at the same altitude as the highest concrete stands.

Yup, but ofc excluding roof elements, because top of the spire will be about 100m above the pitch.

is Wroclaw stadium construction in full swing yet?

^ Well, judging by the recent updates, it is indeed! The only question is whether the shopping centre next to it is also u/c or it's on hold?

^ Well, judging by the recent updates, it is indeed! The only question is whether the shopping centre next to it is also u/c or it's on hold?

It's on hold as banks are not so willing to give a loan. Recent news say that Slask Wroclaw needs to establish a separate company (for the sake of shopping center only) in order to get a loan. It can take several weeks more...Once they have money, they can start with construction as all permissions are ready.

Regarding progress on the stadium: Max Boegl fixed 11 elements made in Germany during last week (15m each). It can be seen on today's pics from Sidorowski:

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/7200/image017m.th.jpg (http://img34.imageshack.us/i/image017m.jpg/)

Pozdrawiam

MB plans to fix 156 such elements. The shortest ones (the ones they fix now) are 15m long and they arrive on trucks. The longest one will have 36 meters and 110 tons. They will arrive to Wroclaw on August on trains. All elements shipped from Germany will have 8500 tons in total.
