Artemis April 28th, 2007, 12:28 AM Tbite i like your idea, so i also tried to edit a Skyline. I always imagined how twintowers would finish the Lagos Island Skyline. Here it is.. its a bit bumbling and rough. call it a first try, next time i will do much better.. the reference objects are from Singapur.. hope you like it!

So have I. There was one proposed a couple of years ago, but it never saw the light of day, it was to be built in Tinubu sqaure:)
Your first try is much better than mine though, I transformed the buildings, but they lost focus:lol:

Arthabitat3, Not bad, but even then the skyline for the worldīs seventh largest exporter of crude oil would still look wack! Have a look at cities like KL, Caracas, Jakarta, JoīBurg....Lagos normally has to be in this category. I only hope and pray that Malaysians and Indonesians will help Nigeria to go for the skies! Lagos city skyline is not all representative of Nigeriaīs might/potential
Tbite, you have taken an old picture of Libreville (80īs) and put a tower in it, it looks so much out of place. Libreville is a small capital and to my mind buildings should not exceed 20 floors otherwise it becomes distorted!
popa1980 April 28th, 2007, 01:47 PM I agree about Libreville. Looks out of place.
Nixoderm April 28th, 2007, 02:13 PM Lagos deserve a full highrise!!
Artemis April 28th, 2007, 02:47 PM Arthabitat3, Not bad, but even then the skyline for the worldīs seventh largest exporter of crude oil would still look wack!
Well, there is should be enough space for highrises at some parts of the Lagos marina..

Tbite April 28th, 2007, 03:22 PM That Libreville Pic is quite funny,
I'll try edit Nairobi and see if I can make it a NewYork:)
There is indeed lots of space for More highrises on Lagos Island, perhaps with the LICBD Project, new buildings might be realised. What Nigeria needs, or what Lagos needs is transparency. New investors are coming into Nigeria, and most of them are planning permanent offices. Maybe if Power supply is improved, and crime is dealth with etc Maybe we might just see a boom.:)
That Pic which Arthabitat3 edited is quite nice, it looks like Jakarta 15 to 20 years ago.
Let's try and edit as many skylines across the continent as possible:cheers:

.. iam still not professional in photoshop.. but i think its good enoung to get a impression what would fit the Lagos Island Skyline.
Artemis June 8th, 2007, 06:49 PM ..it needed more time to upload the images to imageshack server than to edit them..:)

Tbite June 12th, 2007, 03:20 PM Abuja has heaps of space, perhaps this is one reason why builders aren't building up. :)

Artemis October 10th, 2007, 10:59 PM According to Jans request (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=8309639&postcount=1) for new banners i created one for Lagos. Its still a bit work to do but let me know what you think of it - so i can improve it. And lets see what your banners look like..

Lagos Island and the flag of Lagos State.

Matthias Offodile October 11th, 2007, 12:34 PM Arthabitat03, not bad:) but the flag dominates too much of the picture if you ask me, I would choose a smaller flag, add a Nigerian piece of art like a mask, for example, and add a future project like the Stratosphere Tower in Lagos.
this pic is quite nice of Marina.

PS: Thanks for creating a banner of Lagos, btw:)
Artemis October 11th, 2007, 04:51 PM they decided to go for flag free banners now. so i sent Jan this 2 examples. maybe we can see them in the near future:

Kenguy October 13th, 2007, 09:44 AM this is a government photoshooped pic of how nairobi should look like by 2030. kenyan government launched the 2030 plan that make kenya a middle income country by 2030. do my fellow africans think kenya can make this picture a reality?
