i think transfer of ownership is why the project is mothballed..

Le Raffine were either idiots or swindlers not to realise that their "ultra exclusive" condo would get blocked by that land - should have bought it to.

I don't trust that company at all...

Actually, this could look really good depending on the finish. The crown is unusually sculptural, and I like the way the top section is at a slant to the podium and has rounded edges; nice touches. Strangely cheap render though...

Without the top, this building has a strong resemblance of the once was a Robinsons Silom complex.

Well, it destroys their privacy completely (they really should have looked at that plot of land in front of them more closely before they bought....), but it does cut down on the awful noise from the BTS (which they may also not have noticed)...so win some, lose some...

Kinda slow.

Slow? To my mind it is zooming ahead. From ground to 12th floor in a few months.

The building is looking more and more attactive as the glass panels go on. Looks especailly good from Soi 22. I'd say a really good additon to Sukhumvit - altho reserve fianl judgement till I see the finished bird - and the colours...

I think these bright neon colors (if painted) will cause a violent reaction by neighbors having to stare directly into it from adjacent windows :hammer: ....

maybe they could use subtle rotating up-lights on the birdie at night to draw attention to the hotel, without causing a design boo-boo

Land the hotel is built on is the land where the sales showroom was. So you would think that anybody buying the Raffine would have queried what would rise alongside.

I notice the roofs of both buildings have a symmetry - same architect for both?

Yes from that angle it looks like the Penthouse will luckily just have a warm multicolored floodlight glow from above - Is it sitting on an egg per chance?...

warm glow from above would be better than bright neon in your face (24/7) :yes: ....

maybe it could sit on a loudly chirping and smoking egg? that would add to the fun and assault of the senses :D

These photos definitely show the correlation between the hotel and Raffine 2. Not only the angles but also the ugly top piece on top of Raffine 2.

Hideous - no way this can stand the test of time. While it's quirky and appealing at first, once you've lived with it for awhile it is just an eyesore. It does a major disservice to the overall appeal of the rest of the building. Just there to please the architect's ego? Another gripe is the low ceilinged lobby to the hotel - entirely out of proportion to all the surrounding large spaces...
