Mosi-oa-Tunya May 3rd, 2007, 08:04 PM Aside from the hills around it this is a nothing place.
If you want to get a better glimpse of urban life outside Maputo, you should check out:

Pemba (Cabo Delgado province)
Xai Xai (Gaza province)
Vilankulo, formerly Vilanculos (Inhambane province)

You are to blame May 6th, 2007, 07:24 PM For some reason i really like the look of this city
Matthias Offodile May 6th, 2007, 09:06 PM The setting is beautiful but again too much neglect, what is the mayor of this town doing? How can he show so little interest in keeping this small city neat and proper and investor-friendly? It is not a question of being rich to take a pot of paint and repaint most of those buildings AND GET SOME OF THE ROADS FIXED! I am sure that the city has seen brighter days...and we have to look for ways to bring it back to life
StormShadow May 6th, 2007, 09:23 PM I agree. I also like this city for some reason. It's a small city to the north of Mozam but it looks tranquil, spacious and very well vegetated. The streets are wide and has some nice geography around the city. Also, many of the buildings are not in such bad condition. It seems that the church and 2 apartment or office buildings dominate the skyline.
I also created a "Beira" thread and that particular city wasn't in the same condition as this one.

Mosi-oa-Tunya May 7th, 2007, 08:24 PM Nampula is in much better shape than Beira, which is a hellhole place. Northern Mozambique is much poorer than the South. The per capita income of Nampula province is only $100 while Maputo city province is over $1,500.
NickABQ August 24th, 2007, 06:28 AM I dunno the pictures of both Nampula and Beira look like they were both once nice cities.....:) Nampula still looks beautiful.

estudioartes April 13th, 2010, 03:34 PM Nampula sempre bonita
Amboseli Daima April 15th, 2010, 06:52 AM Love this city even with a few neglected buildings/roads.A few gallons of paint more well tended greenery would do.With roads they can be expensive to fix esp if your tax base is poor/small and need approval of far off minister of local gov't but try they can. However this city has alot of potential.
88keys April 16th, 2010, 12:49 AM WOw this place is really beautiful with so much potential.
Blue sun May 5th, 2010, 05:33 AM All of Africa is really beautifull... just does not have unity and Good leadership...
Yupes May 5th, 2010, 11:10 AM LOVELY! Beautiful pictures of a truly beautiful town. Its seems well planned from the few aerial pictures, the airport is good too.
cabo shark August 9th, 2012, 04:17 AM Very nice. :)
Nostra August 9th, 2012, 10:05 AM Not to be a killjoy, but I fail too see the "beauty" of this city.... Or are we looking at the same pics? But yeah, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess...
