Medina. About half an hour driving to The Holy city of Makkah. And as a
fact you can see mountains of Makkah while being in Jeddah.

The skyline should improve with some new towers getting built.

As well as mthe many medium height office towers getting built (or already built) around Ruwais district there are 3-4 skyscrapers on their way up as well.

There's a 240m building on Medina road already under construction, and one on Andalus street which I've heard is 400m high.

Impressive pictures! Jeddah has many nice buildings and state-of-the-art infustructure. It may go second to other modern cities in terms of skyline but mainly because most of the tall buildings are scattered in the city and not gathered together creating clusters. For a 2mln city though the skyline is quite good.
I give an 8/10 but in my heart Jeddah gets a 10/10 cause in this city I spent most of my childhood years :)

Old Jeddah gets a 10. Just gorgeous. The more recent architecture, well, it varies a lot in quality ...

Mecca has always been the only place where its all-Muslim...i cant remember if Medina is as well. Other than that, TRUE islam is very tolerant of other religions.

I was born there and lived there for 10 years. Its the most fun place ever if you know get to know it and the streets are beautiful. Plus its a beach city and one of the most liberal cities if not the most liberal city in KSA. 10/10

and some of the bad ones are sadly getting demolished for the central development project which is going to renew the area and preserve the historical buildings
