Most of them in the 70s and 80s, but then again most of them remain Nigeria's most prominent structures Today. There are some new buildings such as the Sapetro Tower, Zenith Heights and the African Reinsurance Headquarters.

I'll update the List with Time :cheers2:

P.S The Union Bank Building is taller than Necom House, but Emporis recognises Necom House as the Taller Building.I think that's because Necom has that spire/antenna on top of it; but Union Bank is taller measuring from ground to the roof.

In 2 or 3 years Ethiopia will have two buildings taller than anything currently in Nigeria.

Why do you say so??Ethiopia has the Electric Power Co. Building going up on Mexico Square that will be 30 floors + a spire, and the City Center Development going up next to City Hall that will be 40-something floors.

Actually, I guess the Elec. Co. building may not be taller than NECOM House, so maybe Ethiopia will only have one taller building.

That Elec .Co building should be taller than Necom House. Necom House and The Union Bank HeadQuarters are about 120Metres. However there are Highrises planned as part of the Bar Beach revitilisation project, and the LICD Project. And Millenium Tower in Abuja will be 160M. So we'll see how things unfold.

P.S The City Center Development is splendid.

I'm glad to see new buildings springing up all around Africa.:)

One building in Lagos, the Nigerian Industrial Development Bank, is under demolition after the top two floors caught fire on March 20, 2006 and the top nine floors collapsed on March 22.
