What's the current average attendance of chivas?
Demetrius May 10th, 2007, 02:14 PM What's going on really with the legendary old Guadalahara stadium (Jalisco?)?
Since I'm a little bit older, this was one of my favorites, along with "Azteca", back in the 1986 WC (still remember the FRA-Brasil eliminator). Actually, it was the unofficial "home" of Brazil team both in 1970 & 1986 competitions, wasn't it?
miguelon May 11th, 2007, 11:01 AM Actually Chivas doesnt get an exact figure of their attendence, but they get an average of about 45,000, but the demand is way to different depending on the rival.
Their actual stadium holds 60,000. They get sell outs in 2 derby games, and get near capacity, at least with another 2 teams,,,
also for playoffs is almost always full
still against the least glamorous teams,,, sometimes they get 25 k

larsul July 15th, 2007, 10:25 AM Today i drove by the construction and they are really advance to start laying out the foundations. For sure after a couple of months we will start to see the rising of the construction. I already have my seats for the new stadium!!
VAMOS CHIVAS!!
lpioe July 15th, 2007, 11:02 AM I quite like it. I really like the current stadium too, atleast the interior.
But of course it's always nice to have your own stadium.
Btw: Isn't the capacity a bit low if they have an average attendance in the region of 45'000 now? New stadiums usually increase the attendance by quite a bit.

Well the attendance for Club Deportivo Guadalajara is around 35,000 per game. Plus the old stadium will never have the commodities the new stadium will have.
In Mexico we are pushing for stadiums around that number (45,000) so they have better attendances, new Atlante stadium in Cancun, Mexico will start with a 20,000 stadium however they already have plans for 40,000.

Includes a beauty shop, a movie theaters, underground parking and besides that they will build an hotel, shopping center, exhibition center, modern art museum, a college (university), offices of the company of the owner, entertainment park and a kids island.

So HOK is designing it?
larsul September 11th, 2007, 10:41 PM The designers are: Daniel Pouzet and Jean Marie Massaud, from a Firm in Paris. However they have the help of HOK Mexico.
Construction is made by ICA from Mexico.

Yes that is what i like about it the originality. Is not a concrete monster like other new stadiums in the world, plus it tends to be real ecological, with the grass outside, and other elements in the construction.
the whole concept of JVC (stadium, hotel, university, art museum, exhibition center, children area, shopping center) gives the club a big overview of a litle city in that area.
check it out.

And what if it was? It's only the shae of the roof that makes ANY resemblance with Stade de France so cut the "French pride" crap, because you make all stereotypes about French people look true.
The stadium in Guadalajara will be much more unique than Stade de France in terms of the general idea, and the roof- it might look similar, but similar is "actually" the strongest word to use here. So no reason to boast around.
30's 40's old design!
we changed century since 2000 no?

Let me tell you that his inspiration is not the stadium in france, for your information in mexico there are many volcanoes and is inspired by one of these, which is why the environment is green because it is located at a forest of Spring.
This stadium will have a museum, cinema, climbing wall, beauty salon for women, day care, all within its berm

Sorry but Romania is able to construct more beautiful stadiums than this one! it's not a question of money!
You can have for 50 -60 million euro a beautiful stadium. i'm sorry but it's for the moment the most awful stadium i've seen for the moment on this forum and i'm sorry for you if you don't share my view.
@@Soy Chiva y que--> Your stadium is wonderful!!! :) no doubt on that! ok I just want to say that the Stade de france has the reputation to have a sort of "flying disc" above it! A flying roof.
When i look at your stadium i'ts beautiful and we stay on this idea of Flying disc!!
And for the inside if i have to compare with one stadium i will think to Stade De france even it's not the same number of levels!
It's not a critic about the stadium which is WONDERFUL but people who are not able to be relevant and honests recognizing some other stadiums inspiration. point!
You know you talk about lille stadium..but it takes its inspiration from Amsterdam Arena or Schalke. It makes it difference just in design and the way it becomes multifunctionnal.
There's no shame to recognize inspiation from others architectures, at least concerning certain part of stadium. where is the problem???

The location is because these lands are owned by the owner of the "CLUB GUADALAJARA" , Is located at the side of the forest "LA PRIMAVERA", A forest of 30,500 hectares regarded as the most important in lung metropolitan area of Guadalajara, The Chivas Stadium is part of the Center for Culture, Conventions and Business JVC

Thanks for the quick response Chiva, it looks a lot better thanks to your rendering. I still find it a bit too off center, I'm a bit of a "chilango" myself so I like my stadiums located in city cores like the estadio azul or within easy access to downtown like el estadio Olympico de las Pumas. I don't like the ringroad around the complex it's funny they started to build the road first! How is the bus system in Guadalajara these days. I know the subway system is good but I don't remember buses!

THe system is ok however they are now developing the BRT, which is an articulated bus like Metrobus in DF.
It will be quite good.
I also know it looks like the location is remote however the area around is quite developed.

Columnas (33%)
Cubo de elevadores (20%)
Firmes (11%)
Acceso peatonal (30%)
Trabe circular (40%)
Montaje de prefabricados (6% general)

Maybe Omnilife is a naming sponsor for the stadium? Do you know How much it pays for the naming right?
larsul April 14th, 2008, 09:40 AM YEs theres rumours that the company based in Guadalajara will get the rights of the stadium. However it is a very strange way to get the name.
Omnilife is a nutritional suplement provider based in a piramidal sales force.
It has over 5 million distribuitors around the globe and the company is promoting along them to put 20 USD to buy the rights.. I dont if i made myself clear, however that is the idea..
Samsung will sponsor the flat TV screens along the stadium, 2 big outside for fans and more than 800 inside the boxes and the rest of the stadium.

I believe they want to put the ticket prices higher because there will be less..
I think that is the idea of the owner..
Protteus April 22nd, 2008, 09:25 AM looks like the stadium is going to have a river crossing the front
part of the stadium, this kind of things makes the project ecological.
BTW, maybe this stadium is smaller than Jalisco Stadium because
they were sharing the stadium with Atlas Club, and like this one is
going to be only for them (Chivas Club).
It could be possible that they don't finish the stadium in december,
we have 7 months left.

LIL J May 14th, 2008, 02:06 AM Avanza el Estadio Chivas
http://www.chivascampeon.com/noticias_images/3977_grande.jpg

www.sercan.de June 8th, 2008, 04:03 PM updates?
soy chiva y que..... June 9th, 2008, 12:25 AM unfortunately not, the club has not provided progress
intresant June 9th, 2008, 01:19 AM I don't think the lower capacity is necessarily a bad thing because it gives games a better feeling on average attendance days. However such a rapidly expanding economy like Mexico - you would think that stadiums would increase in capacity not shrink  At least it seems they have plenty of space to expand!
BTW I don't see how "ecological" that stadium could be if most of the people have to drive to get there as someone stated "20 - 40 min" but I guess they didn't have a choice if that is the land that is owned by the club so at least that's something noteworthy as not many clubs that have their very own stadium!
hngcm June 9th, 2008, 05:36 AM to sell ticket higher because there will be less
So they'll make the same amount of money since they'll be selling them for more, but with less amount...doesn't make much sense.
Should have made it with the same capacity as Jalisco, new stadiums always = higher attendances.
larsul June 9th, 2008, 06:48 AM no the idea is that every game will be a sell out.. normally in Mexico the first years of the new stadiums can be a sell out, however after that the attendance can go low..
soy chiva y que..... June 9th, 2008, 08:37 AM exactly , the capacity of this new stadium, in méxico the people not to go after these events
larsul June 9th, 2008, 10:46 PM plus in average chivas has 30,000 per game so the idea is to increase it to 45,000 per game.

How big are the palocs in Mexico?
315 palcos but only 2 storey suit ring?!?!
plasticterminator November 7th, 2008, 04:14 PM In my opinion the stadium is a joke. A beautiful design with the surround of grass and then they spec an artificial pitch inside the stadium. Just another stadium conned by fifa and other salesmen who would sell there own grandmother given half a chance. Hide your head in shame all those responsible for this stadium and do the right thing now:badnews:

Artificial surface??? God no! Believe me. Up here in Toronto it was a thought of as a good idea. Players and staff have spent the last two years complaining about it to no end. Hopefully they stick with grass.

miguelon January 24th, 2009, 03:56 AM Ready for June????
I wish, but i think that is not going to happen.
If they speed up the construction, and no mayor delays during raining reason (late may-september), this stadium is getting ready for late 2009-early 2010.

I wish, but i think that is not going to happen.

Why do you think that?
miguelon January 26th, 2009, 01:14 AM Why do you think that?
most modern stadiums even using a lot of prefabricated materials, need more time to build. I have to admit that in the last 6 months a lot has been done, but you still need to install all the "stands" of the upper bowl, they still need to create all of the lower bowl, the roof needs a lot of work ( even with the prefabricated pieces is not some LEGO game), all the seats, and also the cone that will give the volcano form is missing.
Let alone the interior work, dreesing rooms, hospitality features, boxes, food stands, team store, bathrooms, restaurants, ticket office, scoreboard, LCD screens, etc.
Thats why i think that.... dont get me wrong i am in GDL and really hoping to see a game here, but lets wait......
larsul January 26th, 2009, 06:56 PM Well , lets wait and see.. i have been to the stadium and they are very advance.
the seats are ready, the mmm where the seats are installed are ready, the levels below are almost done, i even went to the players locker rooms and they are almost ready.
so lets wait and see. plus i heard in april a bunch of workers will come and help with the instalation of the seats, tv, etc.

Like a green volcano with a cloud as the roof. In my opinion probably one of the geratest stadium architectures in the world. I'll just wait until I get to see some real photos, not only renderings to finally make up my mind, but for me so far it's most likely going to be one of my all time favorites.

Under the stadium
larsul March 12th, 2009, 09:53 PM I'm watching Chivas right now against Caracas. I'm sure there's at least 30 thousand there but it looks like nobody. The new stadium can't come soon enough.
That game will not atrackt more people than 30,000 unless it was a game from the next rounds.
just wait until you see the game on sunday against atlas ...

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh168/jonnymagallon/www.jpg
Underneath. Parking for boxes owners are underneath.
Parking for 8,000 vehicles will be in the surroundings but within the JVC facilities. The JVC is a bigger project and Chivas Stadium is only one part of it.
The only thing it will lack is a mass transportation mean, since there are no light train station, no subway station, nothing for people to get there except by car. Yes, there are buses, but buses will be a problem, not a solution
hg.barragan March 21st, 2009, 07:19 PM indeed the chivas stadium will be one of the best in the world, and will also become one of the most environmentally friendly both in its design and its surroundings, the majestic forest of spring

GerardInMTL March 23rd, 2009, 07:40 PM I'm a little bit sceptic about the stadium being completed in july-august, but i hope it will be.

El Tijuan@ April 26th, 2009, 07:34 PM no, they do not own that stadium. but you will glad to know that since the construction of the chivas stadium many other teams from the Mexican professional soccer league have fallow the lead of chivas and began construction of their own stadiums. frankly I for one am glad to see this happening, the renewal of these stadiums are a much needed and welcome. larsul May 15th, 2009, 07:37 PM Why is it that Chivas don't want to play at Jalisco Stadium any more? What's the problem?
They do not own the stadium as it was mentioned before and the jalisco stadium is getting quite old. There are rumours that it need extensive renovations that would cost a lot of money and Atlas, the other team from the city and owner of a porcentage of Jalisco stadium dont have.
Plus you have to consider the whole proyect of JVC which needs a lot of space.
gugasounds May 16th, 2009, 02:18 AM I recently heard a rumor that since the departure of chivas, Tecos of the University of Guadalajara will play in jalisco stadium.

No, Tecos will not play in Jalisco Stadium at all..Either they remain in the 3 de marzo stadium or they will move to another city..
miguelon May 18th, 2009, 03:32 AM Even a 25,000 stadium like 3 de Marzo, is way to big for Tecos, which it is maybe the worst supported team in mexican premiership.
And Jalisco Stadium with 58,000 seats, is totally out of proportion.
salaverryo May 20th, 2009, 09:02 PM No, Tecos will not play in Jalisco Stadium at all..Either they remain in the 3 de marzo stadium or they will move to another city..

They want to get total control of the team and one of their plans are moving out of 3 de marzo stadium to jalisco stadium, or moving out of guadalajara.

larsul June 20th, 2009, 02:00 AM Hey, and how do you get there, on horseback? There isn't a single road.
Hummm what?
it surrounded exactly by two by highways.. Av. Vallarta (4 lines) and Periferico (4 lines)
they have to build a conection between the stadium parking lot and those avenues and the distance is less than 300 meters.
So don't worry.. cars will be able to get there..

http://www.chivascampeon.com/noticias_images/7864_grande.jpg
