This was shot from Brixton Hill in South London. Incidently it was taken from the building immediately next door to where I used to live.

What are those buildings to the left of the London Eye? It's like 3 Blues Point Towers..

They are three council estate tower blocks in Stockwell. There are quite a number of these scattered around the London Borough of Lambeth. The ones you refer to have been recently painted externally in yellow/beige. Their original colour was poo brown, as can be seen further to the right in the picture.

The building I meant is eqi-distant in between the Empress State building and the BT tower. It has to be either Olympia, Earls Court or one of the big train station in that area such as Victoria or Waterloo. I guessed Waterloo by where it looks on the panorama. But now having looked at aerials of Waterloo I see it isn't a "domed" type station so maybe it is one of the Earls Court exhibition halls, but it looks too far from what I think is the Empress State building.

Although after writing all that, I have had a closer look at your picture and perhaps you are right after all, but it just looks so much bigger on the pano.

Towards the bottom left of the picture you can see a couple of local landmarks, HM Brixton Prison and Brixton Windmill which dates from 1816 when Brixton was still an outlying village. The art-deco style flats in the bottom-middle are called 'Dumbarton Court' and is reputedly full of illegal brothels and 'working girls'.

Interesting Story:
In 1999 I lived directly opposite the the brick flats you can see close-up at the bottom right on the pano. My bedroom overlooked the road and these flats. One night around 1am I was asleep and dreaming. Suddenly, in my dream, a bomb went off. This woke me and as I was lying in bed I began to hear car horns blaring and raised voices. I opened the curtain to find one of the flats opposite completely consumed by a raging fire. It turns out the occupants had been experimenting with explosives causing, as you guessed it, an explosion. One of the steel framed windows had been blown out and an internal wall had also collapsed. The two men inside were critically injured.

The Empress State Building isn't in the pano. The building you are confusing it with is the London Hilton, Park Lane (Hyde Park).

Seriously though, great photo. Makes me a bit London homesick (been back for 4 months now). Never lived in Sarf London, but know that area well. Worked on a project a couple of years back right near Clapham Common tube. From the roof, you had a very similar view to that one. Very nice, although some of those estates make me shudder a bit.
