Há um tempinho atrás fui numa visita ao Projeto Jacarepaguá, PROJAC, o maior complexo de produção audiovisual da América Latina e um dos maiores do Mundo, com uma área de 1,65 milhão de metros quadrados. Dalí são gravados as séries, novelas e outros programas da Rede Globo de Televisão. O Projac serve unicamente a Rede Globo, os outros canais Globosat são gravados em outros estúdios espalhados pelas cidades do Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo. A sede da Central Globo de Jornalismo é o único organismo da Globo fora do Projac, o setor de jornalismo (JN, Bom Dia Brasil, Fantástico, Globo Repórter...) ainda está no tradicional bairro do Jardim Botânico, assim como outros setores administrativos. Outras empresas do grupo estão amis espalhadas pela cidade (Globo Marcas, Globopar, Globo Filmes, Globo.com, SomLivre, Jornal O Globo, Extra, Editora Globo, Globosat, NET...). É dificil falar da grandiosidade do lugar, afinal a Globo é a 4º maior emissora de tv do mundo, só mesmo indo visitar!
O Projac está se expandindo:
Em fevereiro de 2007, o diretor-geral da Globo, Octávio Florisbal, anunciou a ampliação do Projac em 30% até 2010. Segundo ele, serão construídos novos estúdios sendo um deles em formato de domo, para gravações em 360 graus, postos de apoio às cidades cinematográficas (que, atualmente, são contêineres), um teatro e um prédio administrativo (para áreas como vendas, recursos humanos e comunicação).

Um dos 10 estúdios (Seis deles têm mil metros quadrados cada um, e os outros quatro, 560 metros quadrados), cada novela possui um estúdio próprio, novelas grandes como as das 20 horas costumam ocupar de 1,5 a 2 estúdios, nesse caso Cobras e Lagartos, uma novela das 19 horas que fez muito sucesso ocupava 1 estúdio e meio

A Record já responde ao Projac adquiriu estudios bem próximos e construiu o RecNov, que passa por obras de ampliação (Já são 6 estúdios, 3 com mil metros quadrados, 2 com 1.200 e 1 com 400, este ano inaugura-se mais 2 estúdios).
