Well, yes it is, alongside Torre Latinoamericana, World Trade Center Mexico, the Mexicana Tower and many others, it stood after the 8.0 Richter scale ( maximum intensity or peak intensity ; 8.5 ) earthquake that stroke Mexico City for over 2 minutes, September 19th, 1985. It also survived a 7.9 earthquake the following day, September 20th ( a replica of the main one ). And Torre Latinoamericana also took the ones of 1957 ( 7.8 ) and 1979 ( 7.5 ), and obviously both in 1985 ( 8.1 and 7.9 ). By the way, today, August 30th 2007, a bomb-car was found in Torre Mayor. All of itīs 12,000 tenants and visitors were evacuated. Other bombs were reported in a department store and in the World Trade Center Mexico, though the largest one was found inside Torre Mayor.
