About the Mall

The prestigious project Lagoona, will give Doha, the most modern shopping mall in the Arab World. :lol: Located at the heart of the affluent West Bay Community, which will be home to over 340,000 residents, the mall will be a gateway to many of the ambitious projects currently under way in the capital, including The Pearl-Qatar and Lusail City.
The group general manager Nazar Najarian told the media that Darwish Holding has signed an agreement to create and operate Lagoona. “We have signed an agreement with Dar Investment and Development for a 30-year lease on the mall,â€* he said.
Lagoona will feature more than 51,000sq m of luxury retail space and include 5,000sq m of restaurant space overlooking the waterfront and surrounding a 20,000sq m landscaped European-style Piazza.
“There would be 175 retail shops exhibiting the world’s leading brands, including brands that have not been present in Qatar until now,â€* Najarian added.

I was actually thinking of AL MANA TOWER (HOTEL APARTMENTS), but Al Faisal tower is more accurate. :)

UPDATES: Guys, the Lagoona Mall is actually Lagoon Plaza mall and Badr Al-Darwish bought this mall for investments for 30 years, so its not a totally new mall.

What about the render then?

Intended to become one of Doha's landmark buildings, the tower will rise approximately 200 meters above ground, and is designed to comprise a total of 160 luxurious residential apartments of various sizes in its 50 floors. This building will also house a multi-purpose hall, a health club with a swimming pool, and a children's playground. The tower has distinguished surroundings, as it will be located among several hotels and residential towers and offices, and will overlook the sea from three sides.

cool tower thanks massilia i think you should remove the words and lagoona shoping mall and put it with the lagoon tower as lagoon plaza and lagoona shoping centre since this tower is diffrent and not even in the same are as lagoona mall

Qatar’s Darwish Holding has resurrected plans for a 55-storey skyscraper in Doha, after the project mothballed in the wake of a Gulf-wide real estate crash, the company’s vice chairman said.

The company will tender for a new contractor in the next 12 to 18 months for the stalled Darwish Tower, with a view to starting construction in 2014.

“It was close to a QR1bn project and in fact the contractor - one of the biggest contractors in Turkey - disappeared off the face of the earth [during the downturn,” said Darwish Holding vice chairman Saoud Abdullah Al Darwish.

“It was a good opportunity for us to say; wait a minute,
hold on and let’s see.”

The tower is in the process of being redesigned to reflect Qatar’s current economic realities, he said, adding that the decline in the cost of construction post-downturn had played a significant part in the project’s return to market.

“We are redesigning according to the needs of the Qatari market and we are in the redesign phase in terms of the use,” Darwish said. “One of the reasons we held that project was because construction prices dramatically went down. It would have cost me 60 percent more if I had built it in 2008.”

Darwish Tower initially formed part of the Qatar company’s $348m luxury Lagoona mall project, which opened in Doha in August. The 128,000 sq m shopping centre can hold 160 retail outlets and includes anchor tenant Fifty One East, a 13,000 sq m luxury department store.

Darwish said the mall had seen significant traffic in the two months since its launch.

"Our average daily figures for the shops in Lagoona Mall shows that they are already matching stores that we opened 10-15 years ago," he said.

"In terms of the conversion rate at [Fifty One East], meaning the number of visitors who actually buy a product, retailers will tell you that the best-case success ratio is, say, 15-20 percent. But conversion rate is hitting the high 30s, which is nothing short of astonishing.”

i hate them and i hate this tower as well. We've been waiting for it for 3 years. we should have to wait more 3 years if they counteract it as scheduled !
