Alle May 23rd, 2007, 07:43 PM It is finally getting built :)
giovani kun May 23rd, 2007, 07:53 PM nice finnaly m)) more twins
A.U.S. arch. Student May 24th, 2007, 04:46 AM The model looks different from the render which version will be built? I rather the render and not the model.
The_Dude May 24th, 2007, 04:49 AM Gorgeous buildings, gonna be an awesome addition to the skyline. Even better though is that curvy, glowing, yellow one in the first pic :p
Mosaic May 24th, 2007, 06:25 AM very stunning design!! I like the top part of it.
ThirskUK May 24th, 2007, 06:26 AM MOSCOW TOWER FINALLY GETTING BUILT IN DUBAI.
Alejandrohl3 May 24th, 2007, 06:33 AM Look at the model, there's a swiming pool between them, God I'd love to take a swim there, imagine looking up and seeing these towers looming upwards between you
some_stupid_nut May 24th, 2007, 06:57 AM MOSCOW TOWER FINALLY GETTING BUILT IN DUBAI.
Yup! Theres two!
Ore May 24th, 2007, 07:08 AM Awesome towers
James R. Hawkwood May 24th, 2007, 01:03 PM Damn those towers are sexy as hell!!!
HT May 24th, 2007, 04:26 PM Where is this Tower located ??? Is it in Buisness Bay ?
Woolie May 24th, 2007, 04:49 PM I have reservations about how the top looks like, but otherwise it looks good! Maybe the models are not very good in conveying the real appearance of the structure..?
AltinD May 24th, 2007, 05:25 PM Where is this Tower located ??? Is it in Buisness Bay ?
No, in Sheikh Zayed Road, however it must be said that these are the ONLY highrises on that part of the road. All the other buildings are midrises and we are surprised how they got permission for them there.
AltinD May 24th, 2007, 05:38 PM To clarify the location of these towers:
http://i11.tinypic.com/4z1i44j.jpg
Check the blue box.
AltinD May 24th, 2007, 05:41 PM The area used to be a Petrol and Service Station, which was demolished to make room for the towers.
FastFerrari May 24th, 2007, 06:58 PM nice....another good looking complex for Dubai....got problems with the crown but if the color stays then who am i to complain...
Faisal May 24th, 2007, 07:46 PM impressive
boto_mix May 24th, 2007, 08:04 PM Great project! ;)
AltinD May 28th, 2007, 01:14 PM The piling contractor is starting work on the site.
ZZ-II May 28th, 2007, 05:16 PM so i think that is the sign that is it now UC, or not?
Okan May 28th, 2007, 05:30 PM They seem like the Petronas Twin Towers
Zaki May 28th, 2007, 06:26 PM Absolutely beautiful. They should have built this in the main cluster.
AltinD May 28th, 2007, 08:47 PM ^^ Agree, they will look so lonely on that side of the road.
ZZ-II May 28th, 2007, 09:21 PM maybe there are still some other towers planned
Mr. Alloy May 28th, 2007, 09:28 PM When is groundbreaking?
ZZ-II May 28th, 2007, 10:14 PM i guess that was already.
MDguy May 28th, 2007, 11:57 PM These towers are amazing! They look futuristic! I like them a lot!
-Corey- May 28th, 2007, 11:59 PM awesome tower.
FROM LOS ANGELES May 29th, 2007, 12:08 AM Nice twins, glad to Dubai still soaring higher.
chinatown May 29th, 2007, 02:52 AM this twin tower is looking great, better than the petronas imo.
ergit222 May 29th, 2007, 03:09 AM wow! great twin towers finally in dubai.
tanzirian June 2nd, 2007, 06:44 PM The model looks different than the render...which one is the correct version? The render has a tapering top and a longer spire. Personally I think the model is great...but don't like the render as much.

ZZ-II June 21st, 2007, 06:38 PM looks indeed very good now :)
mcdonnell77 June 21st, 2007, 07:06 PM would be better if they were both 360m
AltinD June 21st, 2007, 07:47 PM ^^ What it would have been even better is if they were paralel to the main road and not one behind the other.
A very unique and not so good concept indeed.
drmadham June 21st, 2007, 08:19 PM sexy...very malaysian
Sentient Seas June 22nd, 2007, 01:09 AM Incredible design, Dubai really knows it's architecture.
malec June 22nd, 2007, 01:16 AM ^^ Check the old design for the tower of russia and you might think differently ;)
theworldshallcry June 22nd, 2007, 01:21 AM I mistook them for more lamps, like the one behind. On the contrary, that lamp could pass for a building in Dubai.
rj2uman June 22nd, 2007, 08:34 AM I really like these! And two of them is just a bonus!

Myster E July 26th, 2007, 08:10 PM very nice and elegant design that incorporates some of the original Russia Tower design with a hint of Petronas.
AltinD July 26th, 2007, 08:15 PM These are under construction, piling rigs, cranes are all working on site.
Muse July 26th, 2007, 08:18 PM Wow! They are really going to be something special!
44p July 26th, 2007, 08:21 PM Wow! They are really going to be something special!
yep.
Rizzato July 26th, 2007, 08:30 PM damn, dubai produces renders, then its U/C in no time.
crazy.
reminiscent of petronas on my first glance, but really sharp design.
Sentient Seas July 26th, 2007, 11:01 PM ^^ Check the old design for the tower of russia and you might think differently ;)
Yeah that's a good looking tower, but still, I am more fond of Duba's architecture than Russia's, perhaps it's just a matter of opinion, but I've never really seen anything overly incredible coming from Russia.
jak3m August 1st, 2007, 03:19 PM Second best looking towers in Dubai after, of course, the superior Burj Dubai.
Please dont wreck the dubai skyline with Al Burj!
Hollie Maea August 1st, 2007, 05:36 PM ^^ Al Burj won't have an effect on Dubai's skyline since it's something like 60 Km away. The skyline that it will be apart of doesn't currently exist.
cheeps August 1st, 2007, 07:06 PM I love this project!
rugbytommy August 1st, 2007, 07:48 PM any other plans for this side of the szr? Will the burj views be opposite?
eddie88 August 1st, 2007, 08:32 PM another unbelievable building for Dubai!
AltinD August 1st, 2007, 10:14 PM Will the burj views be opposite?
What does it means exactly?
DG August 2nd, 2007, 12:49 AM the location is totally disgusting.
Sentient Seas August 2nd, 2007, 12:55 AM Yeah it's a weird location.

I like this tower.
malec August 2nd, 2007, 02:09 AM ^^ Don't worry, once one tower comes, the rest will follow soon. Before you know it that whole stretch of SZR will be filled up with towers ;)

I took that picture and as someone said, I think it was indeed a lamp.
smussuw August 3rd, 2007, 06:56 AM the location is totally disgusting.
:ohno: :ohno:
AltinD August 3rd, 2007, 01:11 PM ^^ NIMBY
Don't worry they (towers) will not come near your home ;)
rugbytommy August 4th, 2007, 12:44 AM are there not towers across the other side of the road though?part of the burj dubai development no?
AltinD August 4th, 2007, 12:48 AM ^^ On the other side of the road there are 3 completed towers and some others are under construction and eventually it will be filled up, but they are NOT part of the Burj Dubai Downtown or Business Bay, both of them are "confined" behind that row (more of a zig-zag actualkly) of SZR towers.
rugbytommy August 4th, 2007, 10:41 AM ok that clears up the location then...thanks

Escoto_Dubai2008 August 19th, 2007, 07:10 PM The towers are nice and the location is excellent too.
Alweron August 19th, 2007, 08:45 PM Wow. Not the best kind of design, but as a twin-towers they look much better. The height is pretty insane too.
phillybud August 19th, 2007, 10:04 PM YUCK. I don't like these two. Very cheap and cheesy. They look like a pair of those "personal vibrators" the ladies like so much.
I'm not against the construction in Dubai, and I think the Almas tower is stunningly beautiful ... but these two - TACKY.
Sander- August 19th, 2007, 11:24 PM I like these towers a lot. I remember seeing the design under another name some time ago. I agree that these would deserve a more symbolic location; however, I guess this part of SZR will get more filled up with high buildings as real estate prices there rise due to projects on the other side of the road nearing completion.
Hollie Maea August 19th, 2007, 11:47 PM YUCK. I don't like these two. Very cheap and cheesy. They look like a pair of those "personal vibrators" the ladies like so much.

Eh...the cityscape models look terrible, but the renders look a lot better. They should look more like the renders than the models.

joobn August 21st, 2007, 01:07 AM i love the towers. but i agree. shitty location. It wont follow as that side is choc-a-bloc with 3 and 4 storey buildings, and one like tall one.
can anyone say random?
ZZ-II August 21st, 2007, 08:51 PM think the location is good. i've the feeling more highrises will be built there in the future
44p August 21st, 2007, 09:36 PM glad it's u/c!!:)
Stephan23 August 22nd, 2007, 10:31 AM Change the status to u/c!!
Sander- October 22nd, 2007, 01:04 AM Would be nice to see how construction was advancing on these... :) anyone passing there on their way to work perhaps?

nicks06 February 1st, 2008, 10:07 PM Are both towers under construction?
ZZ-II February 1st, 2008, 10:13 PM yes :)
AltinD February 1st, 2008, 10:28 PM Actually they are still doing the site perimeter wall but what is more interesting is that with every news release these towers grow bigger and bigger. First they said 400m+, then they said 101 floors, then a few days ago they were quoted to be more then 500 meters tall.
It's crazy but if true it might explain why the lazy job by the piling contractor.
ZZ-II February 1st, 2008, 10:53 PM crazy, i thought pilling is under full progress ^^. and now they'll maybe rise to 500m +
AltinD February 2nd, 2008, 02:13 AM Previously posted in the UAE section:
Lam Tara Tower Development – Sheikh Zayed Road – Dubai
Owner: Bin Manana Investment Group
Budget: $700 million
Scope of work: The project involves the construction of two 100-storey towers which will form the centrepiece of Sheikh Zayed Road development. The towers will be at least 500-m tall, although the official height is still unavailable, They will provide offices, residential apartments and four level basements facilities.
Update: Sources indicate that the Bin Manana Investment Group has invited companies to bid by the end of February 2008 for the main construction package.

AltinD February 2nd, 2008, 04:34 PM ^^ If really 100 floors with a huge roof feature and a long spire on top, they can very well be.
Sander- February 2nd, 2008, 05:11 PM If thats true these are going to make far far more of an impact that we first expected...

Yes that render is the original Russia Tower proposal. But it was refused so Lam Tara Twins will use similar design, I don't see a problem in that...
Smack!! March 13th, 2008, 10:45 PM Yeah only cause its been proposed and the design rejected it doesnt mean other buildings cant use the same design. Too bad for them for not accepting the design. + you will be surprised how many buildings look alike.
AltinD March 14th, 2008, 12:24 PM While nothing ilegal, it does show that the Architects are cheap bastards.
LeMoN-SK March 14th, 2008, 09:47 PM While nothing ilegal, it does show that the Architects are cheap bastards.
^^If you make a great recipe and won't cook the meal it is against some moral values if I cook it instead? I don't think so. If someone makes a great design and it is refused, why it should be left on the paper forever? That would be a shame... Great buildings deserve to be build, if not by the original architects, then by some other...
I don't see this as some ,,stealing", don't blame the architects of ,,zero imagination" or whatever... They just took a good recipe someone else wrote, spice it a little (twins) and then cook it in Dubai... Good for me...
Smack!! March 14th, 2008, 10:00 PM ^and a good post I agree 100% ;)

Good post, i really like that analogy, i think i will reuse it, you know, like a recipe :)
AltinD March 14th, 2008, 11:14 PM ^^ I myself have used the line about "find a use to something that someone else rejected, and I have no problem with the design being used at all, however that doesn't make ethically correct for the "architects" to pass it as theirs.
Something like stealing someone's else's pictures (think those of Imre) and taking credit for them. ;)
GOL2007 March 15th, 2008, 04:20 PM Now everybody could see the little progress during the las 3 weeks but unfortunately some people posted a lot of crap and filled up two pages with that...

Happens all the time. Maybe the buildings are being built are by a rival developer, or maybe they aren't given the rights to render a likeness of the design.
For instance, the models of Business Bay NEVER include Burj Al Alam.
Sentient Seas October 10th, 2008, 05:21 AM Good to see it's underway. These towers are some of my favorite of Dubai's by design.

malec May 22nd, 2009, 08:35 PM Also
According to this website:
http://www.dimensions-ec.com/Projects/manana.html
the towers are 77 floors (office) and 88 floors (residental). Structural height is 384 metres and 70m spire = 454 metres.
MKTJ May 23rd, 2009, 02:13 AM ^^ :omg: :banana: the tallest twin towers

1. Go to websites like www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.us, i prefer tinypic.
2.browse your picture you want to upload and press the upload button.
3. wait a moment until the picture is beeing uploaded.
4.copy the image code for websites and forums.
5. paste it in the postfield and post the post.
than you are done.
