MAUPAY NGA AGA, TACLOBAN! Guys, excited na gad ak makita an interior ng Robinsons Tacloban. Unta madayon kamo pareng @mars at pareng @urban...heheheh! About the second floor ng mall ang liwaliwanag nya..nagagandahan talaga ako sa cöncept nya kasi halos close-type ung concept ng ambiance ang ibang malls suga la it nagpapapawa nga magastos ngan minsan nakakadistract sa paningin ko. At least, sa Robinsons Tacloban natural lights lang para di mapawa o nakakasilaw sa sobra nga lights effect. Wala lang, share lang ko.

kailangan tlga nga asya ito it ira lighting concept kay para mkabarato ht electricity bill.... mhal pa nmn it electricity rate ht tacloban compared to other cities... dpat ngani mas hamubo it rate kay hirani kita ht geothermal power plant.

Yes! Obviously your definition of UNSTRATEGIC is basing on where a major faultline is located. Well,i just pointed out that Taipei is UNSTRATEGICALLY located in a major faultline but they still built TAIPEI 101.

Im not here to instigate a rift.Just merely drawing a parallel from someone else`s definition of UNSTRATEGIC.

Tacloban City -- The local government here is opening its 1st Techno Spaghetti Harvest Center today on Wednesday (April 1) in a bid to raise farmers' awareness on spaghetti farming techniques.

The Techno Spaghetti Harvest Center is one of the priority projects of Mayor Alfred Romualdez started last year.

He said that they have tapped all resources from Governor Carlos Jericho Petilla, An Waray Partylist, and some non-government organizations in establishing said center.

The center houses books, television, video compact discs, player, pamphlets, posters and other information and education materials on planting and harvesting spaghetti trees.

"This is open during office hours and weekdays. This will serve as library. We can use this for formal training of spaghetti farmers," Alfred told Leyte Samar Daily Express.

The Techno spaghetti harvest Center, it was learned, has been conceived to provide information and technology services in spaghetti agriculture to complement the local government unit efforts.

"The last two weeks of March are an anxious time for the spaghetti farmer. There is always the chance of ruining the entire crop, which generally impairs the flavour and makes it difficult for him to obtain top prices in world markets."

"Spaghetti cultivation here in the Philippines is not, of course, carried out on anything like the tremendous scale of the Italian industry. Many of you, I am sure, will have seen pictures of the vast spaghetti plantations in the Po valley. For the Philippines, however, it tends to be more of a family affair."

After picking, the spaghetti is laid out to dry in the sun. "Many people are very puzzled by the fact that spaghetti is produced in such uniform lengths. This is the result of many years of patient endeavour by plant breeders who suceeded in producing the perfect spaghetti."

The harvest is marked by a traditional meal. Toasts to the new crop are drunk in these boccalinos, then the waiters enter bearing the ceremonial dish. This is, of course, spaghetti - picked early in the day, dried in the sun, and so brought fresh from garden to table at the very peak of condition. For those who love this dish, there is nothing like real home-grown spaghetti.

The newly-opened center in this city is the 1st in Eastern Visayas and the 1st in the Philippines according to the Department of Agriculture.

"This is a good project. Farmers are happy about this facility. I hope other LGUs will have this in order to help out their respective constituents," Mayor Alfred added.

The center, which serves as a one-stop service facility nearest to the majority of farmers provides fast access to information and technologies in forms appropriate the clients' needs.

Tacloban is aiming for a new title - The New Golden Food Basket of Leyte. I dont know kung papaano maachieve ng city ang title na yan since I dont see rice fields in tacloban only subdivisions :D. Focus nila ngayon ang vegetable farming. :D

good day boys and girls :lol: been out for almost a week for a much needed vacation. me and my family went to bohol for a last-minute summer vacation, humabol pa :lol: ang layo na pala ang narating ng thread na 'to, thread 11 na and am glad to see this thread grows fast. however, the only thing i don't find amusing ay yung mga LQ-LQ na yan. ok lang yung healthy exchange of ideas but not to the point na pangit na tingnan. we're not alone in this thread, in fact the whole world is our audience. . . so suggestion lang, tama na bangayan, wag na tayong dumagdag pa sa ating mga politiko :lol:

^^i think they replaced those trees with waiting sheds na lang siguro. as u have observed, those waiting sheds cannot be found on their miniature models, there were plants/trees instead. . . IMO siguro matatabunan na masyado yung view kung lalagyan pa nila.

ok rin naman na lagyan ng not so tall trees but based on the photos, parang there's no provision for planters or boxes for any sort greens na. parang sementado na lahat kc yung kahanay ng waiting sheds. pero umaasa pa naman ako na lagyan nila ng mga tanim ang lugar na yan, iba kc ang dating kapag may mga greens kang makikita, hindi magiging boring.

By the way,any development ha sports program nada especially table tennis?Han nakada pa kasi ako 2yrs ago ngan han dati pa problema na talaga han amon club an venue.Intawon bsan usa la ka classroom waray may nag donate.
Thanks to Wilson Chan ginapagamit kami dati ha leyte park gym hin libre pero yna waray na.Sad to say tuluyan na namatay nam club,Metro Tacloban Table Tennis Association.Sayang damo pa naman it mga hi caliber na players ngada na umundang na la pagmulay an iba nag skwela ha schools outside Tacloban para magamit ira skill. Iba na syudad it napulos hit ira karit.:ohno::ohno::bash:

Para unta it mga tigawas na mga sasakyan tikang ha mall ha loyo nala umagi pagawas ha Hi-way para diri bugi-ot kitaon it mall. Ngan ha prente for entrance la pakadto sulod hit mall...Or any alternative means para diri gud magbugiot it ngada nga area para smooth parin an traffic. Para naman ha commuters unta may mga lane nakapila an mga PUJ o PUV magpaluyo hit karsada para didto la hira puede mag-load and unload hin pasahero ngan inurasan para naman diri dumamo it istambay nga PUJ or PUV. Also, unta may-ada over pass pagtitidogon ngada na tongod para naman it mga tumurabok ha dalan diri ma-accidente o magcause pa hin traffic..unta kun magtindog hin over pass connect na nira ha mall para waray na saka-lusad-saka makapoy man dodo...suggestion lang ini guys hope pamamatian...:lol::lol::lol:

Im in favor of installing traffic lights on that area. Let us first take note that the mall is near NSO,PRC,SSS,PCSO and GSIS which contributes to traffic congestion around that vicinity because people from all over Leyte goes there for some important matter to attend to. How much more if Robinsons becomes operational?

And speaking of PRC,I was there kanina and the place is so small for so many clients. It is disorganized because:

* people cant fall in line due to scant space
* There is no paging system.People have to strain their ears to hear their names being announced due to less space,some tend to stand near the cashier`s booth and at the Releasing section, thereby blocking everyone else`s view.
* There is no numbering system for clients.
* I noticed that the cashier aside from collecting cash, has something else to do like stamping and rechecking something over bulkloads of documents which really takes the time much longer. In Manila & Cebu,even if the line is long and only one cashier,he/she does the work much faster because he/she just collect the payments and issue receipts.

If anyone here who has any connections,relatives or knows someone working at the PRC,please do tell them to improve their facilities and transfer to a bigger venue. I have to bring this up because this is not only for Taclobanons but all professionals and the soon to be professionals of Leyte are going there. It was obvious that most were from the Bisaya-speaking towns of Leyte. I really pity these people for they have to travel for several hours pa and this is all the kind of service they get. Kamakaarawod nala for Tacloban.

I was really frustrated and dismayed. If I had known this was the scenario, I could have gone to PRC Cebu.

The ONLY ADVANTAGE is that the personnels are not "mataray" even if busy unlike in other places.

This is NOT to malign PRC Region 8 but a call for IMPROVEMENT.

Hingyap ko lg guys, since wala p naman entertainment complex an Tacloban unta ha likod it ROBINSONs TACLOBAN na magtindog hra hiton. Ung parang ala AYALA-TERRACES style na complex, may open grounds for concert at un nga lang instead na fine dinning restos unta mga discohan at entertainment bars(like Zirko, Clowns, etc.) it aadto. Hingyap ko la!

Although it is a nice idea and yes we need a place where all entertainment and fine dining establishments aside from a mall, are enclosed in just one place just like Bonifacio High Street or something to that effect.

Mars,with that road from V&G to Robinsons via Banezville,I dont know.

About the rerouting (9am to 4pm nalang sila hindi pwedeng pumasok sa downtown area)

They are conducting a study now kung ipapatuloy pa rin ba nila yung rerouting ngayon sa pagstart ng classes.

TACLOBAN CITY -- Sen. Loren Legarda lauded the initiative of the Councilor Cristina Gonzales Romualdez in providing non-working mothers and single women with livelihood training courses under the Cristina's Learn and Earn Program (CLEP).
Legarda was guest speaker during the CLEP recognition rites with 250 new completers, which coincided with the birthday of the program proponent, Cristina Romualdez, on May 23, Saturday, held at the Tacloban City Convention Center.

According to the senator, she and Cristina have the same programs in empowering and providing livelihood to women which could be of great help to every family. She urged Cristina and Mayor Alfred Romualdez to continue the very good program which already have produced at least 27 batches or a total of nearly 900 completers since CLEP started in 2007.

The lady Romualdez who spent her birthday with all the beneficiaries of her livelihood program at the Astrodome, told Sen. Legarda that at present not only women are benefiting from her programs but also men. And she expressed her willingness to create and provide more livelihood programs.

Legarda who was personally invited by the lady councilor to speak during the CLEP recognition rites, spent her lunch with the Romualdez couple, but did not anymore attend the birthday party held the following night at Balauarte Beach Resort as she flew back to Manila late afternoon on the same day for other equally important appointments.

At the dinner party while eating the sumptuous foods, guests and friends were surprised when a bunch of showbiz personalities appeared and serenaded the honorable celebrator with beautiful love songs. They were Pilita Corales, Randy Santigao, Raymund Lauchengco, Gino Padilla and Louie Heredia.

I mean the South Bound Vehicles. They are not allowed to enter the city proper from 9am to 4pm before during the Palaro from 8am to 5pm sila hindi pwedeng pumasok.

theres no need to reroute the vehicles plying to Robinsons ilan-ilan lang naman sila Marasbaras, Campetic, and the South Bound Vehicles. Im not sure kung may terminal ang mga Spider Cabs sa Robinsons but I'm sure sa pagopen ng Robinsons a new route will open from Robinsons to NBS :D
