I like the one in post 6 as it shows most of Motijheel / Kakrail area, albeit at a distance. BTW if any of you guys know how to take pano shots, please share the knowledge! I will attempt one the next time I am in BD, if I have learnt by then. gohorns May 26th, 2007, 06:42 AM hey Tmac I have a question and anyone who knows please chime in.. In that picture of sadarghat, the buildings to the east of the river, are they on the other side, i.e. not the Dhaka/old town side? If they are on the other side, it'll come as a surprise to me. I only crossed over once and there weren't many buildings on that side. tanzirian May 26th, 2007, 08:11 PM Hard to tell from the picture, but I think the city side is on the left, since most of the boats are docked there. The opposite bank is quite built up by now although there are not very many high rises. Here is a picture of Ruplal House from my Historic Dhaka thread - in the background you can see how dense the opposite bank is these days. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r94/tanzirian/ruplal1-3.jpg meghnarmajhi May 26th, 2007, 08:36 PM I think the near side is Jinjira and accross the river is where the city starts. Ruplal house is a piece of artwork. Any idea if government has any plans about it? tanzirian May 26th, 2007, 09:31 PM ^^ No plans that I know of. tareq79 May 27th, 2007, 10:25 AM Oneday I'll learn how to take panos with a real good cam...till then concede this :) ...I tried one with my mobile handset yesterday. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s195/tareq79/DSC03535.jpg meghnarmajhi May 27th, 2007, 09:17 PM Nice pictures guys. Opinion The scene is quite dark and it does not depict anything particularly interesting. It's not a bad photo but I don't think it would make a very good banner. I can see the pic fine myself but it is hotlinked so that may be the problem. It's a very big image and I don't know how (or where) to upload images more than 1024 pixels across to free image hosting sites, so I hotlinked it...sometimes that causes problems. Is there any way I can upload large photos for free? Or, is there anyone with a "pro" account who could upload the photo for us? Tmac used to have no problems with the higher resolutions so I guess he had paid for an advanced account. As with most panos shrinking the picture really takes away from the effect but here it is anyway below. Those of you who don't have a problem with the hotlink can see it on the previous page. It shows the Kawran skyline taken from an atypical angle, from the northeast. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r94/tanzirian/aa.jpg manbil777 August 14th, 2009, 09:56 PM ^^Nice cloud PIC of the late summer kind (shesh boshonto). I think fashionable upper middle class Bengali girls these days have exceeded the reasonable limits that even Western girls allow. The following activities are usually frowned upon and not negotiable... -- No newspaper reading -- No watching the game -- No hobbies unless they involve her (music & photography are okay, playing the tabla while she sings is absolutely divine) -- No outdoor activities (unless spent with the family) Forget about some 'buddy time' with the guys on the weekends. You're as good as neutered :( BTW -- don't get any ideas about me here. I'm talking girls nowadays and not your Bhabi. Sorry about the OT post. Good Morals- 3/4 2. Polite- 1/2 3. No problems with TV/Sports/News etc.- 1/4 4. Good Looking- 1/3 5. Intelligent- 1/3 So overall chances are 3/4*1/2*1/4*1/3*1/3=1/96 :( So I guess the chances of a future of poradhinota looks much more probable now. mirzazeehan August 18th, 2009, 09:46 AM apparently my mum found the "perfect" person,I can foresee lot of trouble during my December trip to Dhaka :ohno: Hehehe...i hope ur "perfect person" does not turn out to be a "news/forum/sports" hater....or else we might start missing u from december:lol: Manazir August 18th, 2009, 11:18 AM ^^ LOL tanzirian September 5th, 2009, 08:11 AM Mohammadpur panorama looking towards Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
