-In the south: Saigon River ( Saigon Port and districts 4 and 7)

7-Technical infrastructure:

-Transport:

Thu Thiem New Urban Center is connected with the downtown of HCM City by five bridges and one tunnel, including:

+A bridge linking Thu Thiem with Binh Thanh District
+A bridge linking Thu Thiem with District 1 (at one end of Tan Duc Thang Street )
+A bridge linking Thu Thiem with District 1 (at Me Linh Square )
+A bridge linking Thu Thiem with District 4
+A bridge linking Thu Thiem with District 7

Internal transport:
+The circular boulevard, with a road border of 45.5 m and a greenery strip in the middle, links the central area with the northern residential area and ends at the eastern residential area. The boulevard has four lanes for traffic, each with a 3.5-meter width, with two lanes for parking on both sides.
+The East West Highway , with a road border of 68 m, has six lanes, each with a 3.5-meter width, with two lanes for parking along both sides.
+Most streets have parking space along the sides. Underground car parks are planned at major public areas.

Public transport:
+Three main metro stations are planned at the Central Square , the Central Lake and the Research Institute at the eastern part of the highway. Metro stations allow easy access and are 10 minutes’ walk from main buildings and destinations.
+Short-distance bus services operate non-stop along the circular boulevard that runs 6.2 km through the central area, the northern residential area and the East West Highway . About 11 bus stops are planned. Major stops are at the Convention Center and the Stadium/Competition House.
+Six ferry wharves are planned to serve travel between District 1, Thu Them New Urban Center and main spots along the Saigon River . A network of more than 12 taxi boat quays to serve the travel by workers and tourists are planned along channels in Thu Thiem.

-Water supply:

The average per capita water supply by 2020 is estimated at 150 liters per person per day. The existing pipelines in Tran Nao Street will be extended to Thu Thiem. The main pipeline, with a diameter of 500 mm, will traverse Thu Thiem along the Circular Boulevard and the Approach Road . It will be have two separate small branches and be connected with the water supply system in District 7. The water distribution system, with smaller pipes, is planned in a circular way within each area.

-Wastewater:

The total volume of wastewater is estimated at 150,000 cu m per day. It will be collected through the natural water flow system and pumping stations and discharged into the wastewater treatment plant.

-Rainwater drainage and leveling:

The height for leveling is estimated at 2.5 m. About 8 million cu m of ground on an area of 575 ha will be leveled, with an average leveling height of 1.4 m.

-Power supply and telecom:

With an estimated population of 130,000, the power demand is estimated aoùn.35 million kWh based on an estimate of 10.3 kWh per person.

The An Khanh Sub-station will be retained and connected with the new power grid. Two new sub-stations will be erected at the main transmission points of the East-West Highway and the Central Area. The telecom center will be part of the television tower. Both electric cables and telecom cables are laid underground in a common pipe system.

7-Technical infrastructure:

-Transport: main roads are 13-17 m wide and have a total length of 12.9 km
-Power supply: Power is supplied from the 110/22KV An Phu sub-station (in the west) and Binh Trung 1 sub-station (in the east). The two new sub-stations have total capacity of 44,460 KVA.
-Clean water: The water pipeline will be connected with the water supply system of HCM City. Water is supplied from Thu Duc Water Plant.
-Rainwater drainage: Rainwater is drained through a system of 17.275 km of pipes of 400-1,200 mm in diameter and discharged into Giong Ong To Canal.
-Wastewater drainage: Wastewater is drained through 15.64 km of pipes of 300-500 mm in diameter and collected at two wastewater treatment stations before being discharged into Giong Ong To Canal.

8-Investment incentives:

-In accordance with current regulations in Government Decree 164/2003/ND-CP dated December 22, 2003, which stipulates a 28% corporate income tax.

+The winner of the land auction must pay the bid in three installments within three months.

2. OBJECTIVES:

The project is aimed to found an international- class university and a high-class residential area for opulent living, higher and post- graduated education;

A general library, a scientific materials center and an IT center would also be founded to serve the research of students and experts , even people living and working in North-West Metropolitan Area and neighbouring regions.

3. LOCATION AND THE CURRENT STATUS:

The projected area is some 830 ha, situated in Hoc Mon District, around 19 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City ; three-sidedly bordered by ditches and canals, adjoining:

- Thay Cai canal and Tan Phu Trung industrial park in the West and North – West.
- An Ha canal in the East.
- Duc Hoa 2 industrial park (Long An Province) in the South.

Currently, the area is in an agricultural region with fruit trees and poor productivity rice fields; thinly populated, low construction density, without drainage and water-supply system. ...

The land- use right in this area is all Government-controlled. Compensation and clearance for construction are therefore fast and convenient, without shadow cost.


4. IDEAS OF PLANNING :

The international University and residential area would expectedly include:

2. OBJECTIVES:

The North-West Metropolitan Area of HochiMinh City is formed in an agricultural land in the surburb of Ho Chi Minh City .

Building and developing the North-West Metropolitan Area is expected to convert the economic structure from agricultural-based to services-based economic, promote the economic growth of the City and neighbouring regions. The North-West Metropolitan Area would be a regional center, a modern ecological metropolitan area with the harmony of urban and social infrastructures, ensure a good environment for residents.

Residental status: Currently, the Area consists of some 30,000 inhabitants with about 5,900 houses. Population density is 5 persons/ha, mainly distributed along the trans-Asia highway and provincial route No. 8.

4. LOCATION:

North-West Metropolitan Area is in the north-west gateway of HCMC, 30 km away from the City center. Its area is 6,000ha with the width of 3-5 km, stretching some 18 km in length adjoining:

- Trans-Asia highway in the East.
- Long An province in the west.
- An-Ha canal in the south; and
- Canal No. 14 and the boundary of Phuoc Hiep Commune, Cu chi Dist. in the North.


5. PLANNING TASK:

North-West Metropolitan Area includes: The centres of service, commerce, health, culture, education and training, sports and physical training.… with an enormous ability to give employment, fast economic growth rate through the development of public services and trade.

Basing on economic- social factors, North-West Metropolitan Area is planned as 6,000 ha with the expected population of 300,000, including:

- Industrial park: with some 70,000 laborers.
- Services and commerce field with some 130,000 official jobs.
- Public works, domestic and international education - training fields are expected to attract some 60,000 laborers.

TP HCM sẽ xây dựng tại phía tây bắc một đô thị vệ tinh hiện đại, sạch, xanh, đồng bộ cơ sở hạ tầng xă hội và kỹ thuật, bảo đảm môi trường sống tốt cho người dân với điều kiện đạt chất lượng cao và an toàn.

Dự kiến đây sẽ là đô thị cửa ngơ hấp dẫn phía tây bắc với diện tích quy hoạch khoảng 6.000 ha, được thiết kế dựa trên khu vực trục vành đai và hành lang, thuộc một phần diện tích xă Tân Thới Nh́ (Hóc Môn), xă Tân Phú Trung, xă Tân Thông Hội, Tân An Hội, thị trấn Củ Chi và xă Phước Hiệp (Củ Chi).

Cơ cấu sử dụng đất được chia thành đất phát triển dân dụng 2.300 ha (đất dân cư 1.200 ha, công tŕnh công cộng 200 ha, cây xanh thể dục thể thao 330 ha, đất giao thông 550 ha), Khu công nghiệp Tân Phú Trung 550 ha, đất kho tàng bến băi 200 ha, đất giao thông đối ngoại 250 ha, đất xây dựng trung tâm công cộng 500 ha, đất giáo dục đào tạo 200 ha, cây xanh 1.300 ha, kênh rạch mặt nước 700 ha.

Does anyone has the English version news? Thanh Da district is notorious for its soft ground; almost like quicksand. I don't think the ground is appropriate

yeah I want them to remove the saigon zoo to thanh da.......that way no one can come and steal the animals, and no animals can escape.....and thanh da is an island so you don't have to build fence.....just electric shock-wave.

that is like an oasis so close from saigon city.....don't destroy that.....I really don't want to live in an apartment building there and wake up one day found my car sinking to the ground flooded with water
