SOCAR has been allotted in Heydar Aliyev Avenue to construct a new building for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

Leading companies of France, Italy, the UK, South Korea, Turkey and Azerbaijan were involved in architectural designing (engineering) of the building.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that the building will be constructed on the basis of the architectural style proposed by South Korea's Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd.

The building is slated to be 149.4 meters high, 59,102 sq. m and to accommodate more than 2,000 employees. The building will have 2 underground and 35 overhead floors and will be constructed by local builders under supervision of Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd.

It's similar to Libenskin tower in Warsaw. But it's more futuristic design;)

This is not the first time you do this, so please stop opening your threads in the wrong sections.

^^ If this was going to be moved then perhaps Middle Eastern forums would be more appropriate than Asian?

Nice building anyhow. Will this be tallest in Baku?

I thought Azebaijan was considered a geographical part of Eastern Europe, along with the other Transcaucasian republics of Armenia and Georgia? It is definitely NOT the Middle East nor Central Asia. It's like saying Mexico and Panama is in South America.

My god, that is very beautiful and artistic! It makes a cityscape very dramatic! I wish Manila had something like that to stand out!

No, as for today the tallest building in Baku is expected to be the highest tower among the six SKY PARK's skyscrapers - more than 200 m, as well as Fool Moon Rising (approved) with 203 m.

I can't expain it to them. They say they will open Caucasus Thread in Euroscrapes in summer 2008. Untill that time we need to post in different places including this thread.
