Unfortunately I am with my family; they are very conservative, and I can not speak Dutch. So I am limited to go places where I can go with someone who speaks Dutch. I went to see this exhibition on “Daniel Richter” it was nice. I went on a ride on the public ferry, and seen the city from the rivers. That was nice as well.

I agree. St. Pauli (around the Reeperbahn) ist the biggest tourist attraction in Hamburg. Better nightlife then Amsterdam. Btw the people in Hamburg speaks german not dutch. ;) :lol: But u wont have problems with english.
There are also some nice quarters to see: Eppendorf, Ottensen, Övelgönne (Elbe Beach), and of course Blankenese.
I was last week at Hamburg and watched the Daniel Richter pictures. :okay:

Don't think that you can find real stylish clubs there. The most innovative Clubs and by far a better nightlife is in Frankfurt, no doubt. Germanys best Clubs are in the East End of Frankfurt. The cocoon club is featured in a lot German Lifestyle-Magazines in the last time as one of the best clubs in the world. Don't get fooled, but Hamburg has other attractions than his poor nightlife. The Reeperbahn could be funny if you drink a lot alcohol or if you want to pay for "love". :gossip: I know Hamburg and most other German Cities. Hamburg was a long time my home area, but the nightlife was everything but not innovative in any form.

Do you read lifestyle magazines? The cocoon is better than any club in Hamburg. I don't want to know how cool are you? Go to the cocoon and then go to the Reeperbahn. :lol: Lets talk about something that you know. I lived in Hamburg and you not. I don't think that it is cool to fuck girls for money... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: And the Discos on the Reeperbahn are the biggest grandpa shit i've ever seen and the underground clubs suck too..

Ich habe fünf Jahre am Hein-Köllisch-Platz gewohnt, also erzähl du mir bitte nicht ich wüsste nichts über St. Pauli. Gerade dass du den Kiez auf das horizontale Gewerbe beschränkst, zeigt dass du dich dort auch nicht mehr auskennst als jeder Tourist. Wenn man nicht will, lernt man das wahre St. Pauli eben auch nicht kennen. Die dichte Ansammlung von Kneipen, Bars, Cafés, Discos und Clubs, gespickt mit Livemusik und Kleinkunst, geprägt von einem einzigartigen Flair (wo nunmal auch das Rotlicht ein wichtiger Teil des Spektrums ist, was der Tourist nicht immer versteht) ist in Europa ziemlich einzigartig.
Das Nachtleben von Frankfurt als das beste Deutschlands zu bezeichnen ist deshalb auch etwas weltfremd. Den Titel machen mit Sicherheit Berlin und Hamburg unter sich aus, wobei Hamburg den Vorteil besitzt so ziemlich alle Läden konzentriert in einem Stadtteil zu haben (was einem nachts das Taxi spart, wenn man von Club zu Club zieht). Meine Schwester wohnt übrigens in Frankfurt, deshalb seh ich mich sehrwohl in der Lage das vergleichen zu können. Das schöne an St. Pauli ist, das dort jeder findet was er sucht, für jeden Musikgeschmack und jeden Geldbeutel ist dort was zu finden, vom international renomierten Club, berühmten Konzertsaal bis hinzur typischen Eckkneipe, Studentenbar oder auch dem Stripclub. St. Pauli ist unglaublich vielfältig und deshalb einzigartig und birgt auch nach Jahren noch Geheimnisse die sich zu entdecken lohnen.
Warum du aber in diesem Thread, wo ein Tourist sich freundlich nach Sehenswürdigkeiten erkundigt hat, anfängst Hamburgs Nachtleben zu diskreditieren und Frankfurts als weltweit einzigartig anzupreisen (was ja nun unbestritten fern jeder Realität ist), erschließt sich mir irgendwie nicht. Vielleicht solltest du deine Zeit in Zukunft wieder mit dem Lesen von deinen "Lifestyle"-Magazinen (:lol:) verbringen und diesem Forum deine überflüssigen Kommentare ersparen. ;)

Welcher ist denn ein international renommierter Club? Ich habe noch mehr genannt als Nutten und weiter oben steht das man die Familie weglassen soll.... Wie billig so zu feiern. Ihr seit keine coolen Männer, sondern arme ******! Da ist kein einziger Club mit einer Homepage auf Englisch. Musikalisch ist dort auch aus eigener Erfahrung nichts von Weltformat. Hamburg mag schön sein, das Nachtleben ist totaler Mist! Das der Cocoon Club als der beste Club Deutschlands angepriesen wird und zwar von unabhängiger Quelle spricht für mich. Geh mal Freitags in Hamburg aus, arm. Ins Cocoon kommen Leute aus aller Welt. Da braucht mir nicht irgendein selbsternannter cooler Reallife-Honk was zu erzählen was nicht stimmt. Nenn mir einen international renommierten Club aus Hamburg! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Besteht Frankfurts Szene aus einem einzigen Club? :sly:

Nein (apt-apartment, the King Kamehameha: one of the worlds finest clubs usw....) das sollte auch niemals ein Hamburg-Bashing sein, als viel mehr die wahren Qualitäten Hamburgs hervorzuheben. Im Nachtleben liegen sie absolut nicht, das ist nur bitter dort und da sollte sich mal was tun. Ich war übrigens im Cocoon und konnte miterleben wie Amerikaner neben Australiern wie die Wilden feierten und von der Szenerie schwärmten, das steht nicht nur in diesen ganzen Luxus-Lifestyle-Heftchen. In Frankfurt sind die Clubs am Freitag schon voll... In Hamburgs "Top-Schuppen" nicht, siehe H1 (wie originell :ohno:). Was Waxo Khana genannt hat, kann man bedenkenlos so empfehlen! Die Clubs sind naja, von prollig über spiessig, irgendwie ideenlos, das soll jeder ruhig mal für sich austesten und nicht "nur" auf die Luxus-Lifestyle-Hefte hören. So, ich bin jetzt wieder im Reallife unterwegs, vielleicht sieht man sich mal.... :banana: Haut rein, bleibt jung und lasst es krachen!

oh ja, da geb ich dir recht, kenne frankfurt sehr gut, hab dort omas und opas, das Nachtleben ist mit Berlin dort net zu vergleichen, in Berlin gibt es unglaublich viel, vorallen in den randbezirken, ich treffe offt turis die durchs zentrum latschen und nach clubs und so suchen, um Party zu haben muss man nach Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg Charlotten Burg oder so :)
Madrid hat auch nen geiles Nachtleben, aber Berlin is auf jeden Fall ganz weit oben, Hamburg, ka, in Hamburg hat ich noch nie die moeglichkeit die Nacht dort kennen zu lernen ^^
Frankfurt is auch schick, aber einfach net in der Vielfallt etc mit Berlin zu vergleichen, sry

Yes, Frankfurt nightlife is pretty awesome. And its not so snobby as in munich for example.

ah. Thank you! I was quite confused why everyone in Germany spoke Dutch. I kept arguing that they do not. Now I realize Deutch and Dutch are different.

I did go see Daniel Richter’s art. His work is really nice and intense. I went to the big park next to Saint Pauli. I have taken lots of picture. I only stayed there a week. I also went to Switzerland for a week as well: Basel, Berne and a suburb of Zurich.

I am in South India right now (Chennai), working on a project for my school. My internet is very slow, so I will post my pictures at a later date.

I really enjoyed Hamburg. I felt confused that I could not speak the language. Everywhere else I have been to; I was able to get around because I knew English. I felt very limited in Germany. Overall I really enjoyed it. I will come back to Hamburg next year.

Does that mean that you had the feel the germans couldn't understand/speak english in general? In which cases? At a shop, the Hotel, street discussion or elsewhere? At my experiences I have to say, that (especially in Hamburg or the other big cities in Germany) the young people are quite good in speaking english - and especially if they're working in industries like tourism and the belonging Hotel trade, restaurants, clubs and stuff like that.

I knew most Germans knew how to speak English. The main language was not English however, and it was very noticeable because of the media and ads and signs all over. That is what I meant. Even though I knew I can get around by asking people in English, I felt like a stranger.

So you've only visited English speaking countries up until now?

Sometimes when i'm in hamburg city like mönckebergstraße and so on, its like i'm in london city. everywhere english speaking people going arround, some stucking on their mobile phones. a few times i was asked in english for special shops or something like that. naturally i always help as well as i can with my low englisch knwoledge:lol:

Yes, this is the first time I visited a country that is neither English nor French. Actually this is the first time I am traveling alone. I am going to India, but have family living in Switzerland and Germany, so I decided to stay there for some time.
