USF Bulls sign $22M media rights deal
Tampa Bay Business Journal - 3:08 PM EDT Wednesday, June 6, 2007
The University of South Florida Department of Athletics announced Wednesday a new 10-year multimedia contract with ISP Sports that aligns it with a previous long-term agreement the Bulls have with ESPN Regional Television.
The deal, worth a minimum of $22 million, allows ISP to fully manage USF's athletic sales and marketing while ESPN, which previously held marketing rights, will continue to support various areas such as local and regional TV distribution.
"This new partnership promises to increase awareness of the USF brand nationwide and provides additional resources assisting our student-athletes to be competitive on a national stage," USF Athletics Director Doug Woolard said in a release.
Objectives under the partnership include developing Spanish radio broadcasts for USF football, baseball and softball games. ISP will produce and market a variety of corporate sponsorship opportunities involving Bulls sports, such as call-in radio shows for coaches and signage in athletic facilities, and will also serve as sales representative for the GoUSFBulls.com Web site.
ISP, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., is the multimedia rights holder for 45 college athletic programs nationwide, including several other members of the Big East Conference.
