Ingenious indeed. Build a tower somewhere within a 100mile radius of the Burj Dubai, then use the first bit "Burj" to hopefully cream off on some unsuspecting "Burj-related" euphoria by nicking the name, which will soon, be the most famous building of the 21st century so far. Ingenious.

Backside Boulevard would have been more apt, named after the orifice through which this company's "successes" are cleary launched.

Damac Properties approaches contractors for three Business Bay towers

12 August 2008 09:02 GMT

Local developer Damac Properties has invited selected companies to express interest in contracts to build three towers at Dubai's Business Bay.
The first building is Burjside Boulevard Tower and involves the construction of a 38-floor apartment building with one basement and a five-level parking podium. The tower will be 190-metres high with a total built-up area of 68,900 square metres.

The other two towers are office buildings. Commercial Square Tower involves the construction of a 17-floor office building, with five basement and three podium levels for parking, and will be 90 metres tall. Water's Edge Tower will have 18 levels of office space, three basement and three podium levels for parking, and will also be 90 metres high.

The local Architectural Consulting Group (ACG) is the consultant.

The project is the latest to be tendered by Damac at Business Bay. In January, Hong Kong-based CSHK Dubai Contracting was awarded an estimated AED200m ($55m) contract to build two commercial towers for Damac at Business Bay .

Damac awards Boulevard piling contract

Dubai: Mon, 01 Jun 2009

Damac Properties has awarded the piling contract for its Burjside Boulevard development in the Burj Dubai district to Stromek Emirates Foundations, a subsidiary of M’Sharie (the private equity arm of Dubai Investments).

One of the leading foundation and enabling works contractors in the Middle East, Stromtek, said it has clinched the Dh5.6 million ($1.52 million) contract from Damac Properties following the successful completion of the enabling works on site.

The company will carry out piling work within the week on the luxury tower which will feature nearly 300 serviced apartments, said Hussain Sajwani, chairman of Damac.

'We have announced that we intend to award 10 contracts before the end of the year on our projects and this piling works contract is the start of that process,' he added.

Site mobilisation and preparation has already commenced on site and the piling works for the ground plus 45 storey tower will commence within the next few weeks.

Burjside Boulevard Tower is a luxury serviced apartment development in Dubai and will offer panoramic views of bustling Business Bay and the Burj Dubai.

The tower comprises 38 floors of premium residential space which includes one, two and three bedroom apartments, in addition to one level dedicated to leisure facilities including a gym, spa baths and sauna rooms.

There will also be one level basement and 5 levels of podium car parking. The project is expected to be completed in three years time.

Damac chief executive Peter Riddoch, said the contract award would be the first in a series of contractor appointments over the next few weeks.

‘We are delighted to be working with such a well established and reputable contractor as Stromek as Burjside Boulevard will be an important development for us in that it will be our first serviced apartment building in Dubai,' he added.

'We are currently involved in a whole range of negotiations for a variety of contracts from design consultants right through to main contractors and we will be making more announcements on new project awards soon.'

Commenting on the new contract Ahmed El Adl Derbala, general manager of Stromek Emirates Foundations, said, 'Stromek’s reputation is underpinned by its track record of delivering challenging and complex projects and to date we have completed nearly 600 projects.'

‘As a company we have been aggressively building our portfolio with a string of recent project wins, and we are delighted to strengthen our regional presence further by working with Damac Properties and winning the contract for the prestigious Burjside Boulevard Tower in Dubai.

Luxury developer Damac will soon be awarding four contracts for work on its latest residential project, Burjside Boulevard.

Currently out to tender, the contracts for the MEP works, lift supply and installation, cladding and metal works will all be awarded within the next two months. The firms appointed will be working alongside main contractor Sun Engineering, which is targeting five days cycles for building the residential floors in the hopes of completing the project by the end of 2012.

TradeArabia News Service

26 September 2011

Luxury developer Damac Properties is set to unveil its new serviced apartment offering, ‘Damac Suites and Spa’ at the 'Cityscape Global' expo which opens in Dubai on Tuesday.

A premier real estate exhibition, Cityscape Global will run till September 29 at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Damac's new offering 'Suites and Spa’ is a luxury apartment management service, established to cater to the growing demand of serviced premises, said a statement from the Dubai developer.

The hospitality management firm, ‘Damac Suites and Spa’ will be an independently-run unit of Damac offering services such as housekeeping at the most basic level, to items such as personalised butler services and chef services at the higher end of the spectrum.

The company will oversee Damac’s first serviced apartment development, ‘Burjside Boulevard,’ in the exclusive Downtown Dubai/Burj Khalifa precinct, it stated.

In addition, the service will also be made available to residents of other premium Damac Properties’ projects, the statement added.

'Damac Suites and Spa will provide a comprehensive list of services for residents, spanning from state of the art spa treatments, housekeeping, concierge services, chauffeur driven cars and even private jet and yacht charter,' said Niall Mc Loughlin, senior VP of Damac Properties.

'The positioning is ‘luxury at your service’ where we will offer the personalization of every hotel service conveniently in customer’s apartments,' he pointed out.

“We are seeking to create the total luxury lifestyle experience for people residing within premium Damac developments,” he added.

On the Damac move, Mc Loughlin said this represents a strategic shift for Damac and follows extensive market research.

The company identified a clear market niche and is seeking to provide a service unlike anything currently on offer in Dubai, he stated.

The concept for Burjside Boulevard is groundbreaking for Damac as it bridges the divide between high-end residential apartments and luxury five-star hotels, the company statement said.

The range of services offered by ‘Damac Suites and Spa’ will allow residents of Burjside Boulevard to tailor their serviced apartment management package to their specific needs.

Designed by award winning German architects Koschany & Zimmer, Burjside Boulevard will have 49 floors, with an entire floor dedicated to leisure.

The temperature controlled swimming pool will be the centrepiece of the leisure deck, with a fine cuisine restaurant and lounge overlooking the pool. Construction of the tower is currently up to level 35, it added.

do we have an actual render of this tower somewhere? i know im bit annoying, but i still can get over that horrible white colour :D do you think its just a basis for a diffrent colour, or cladding? the renders show glass facade with these all-around balconies, but this looks now like one of those "average" apartment buildings in my hometown but in a more massive form... its sad

The Brick Wall (WHITE) is not Glass Facade (Wall, floor to ceiling windows)
Why have they changed it???

well it could be one of two things really...one the DM did not give them permission to do it in red and yellow...or they did and thats just a nite time feature. I can see balconies in the render...look closely...they are there...

or...its cheaper to do it the way they are now...we will only really know when it closer to completion...im just glad it is being finsihed!

^^

I think this is a more accurate render as it shows blue...
