JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA The 142-room Park Hyatt Jeddah, the first boutique-style hotel in the country, will be part of a multifaceted complex that includes the existing Equestrian Club as well as a planned marina, large convention and banqueting complex and a Baleneo Therapy Center. The Park Hyatt Jeddah is scheduled to open in late 2005(it's change to 2008).
The project is an impressive engineering feat that reclaimed an expanse of prime waterfront land from the Red Sea, while retaining the delicate balance of the surrounding marine life. The hotel will be landscaped with a variety of botanical life, water ponds, areas of sand and grass, as well as walkways and canopied palm trees.
A feeling of sanctuary will be created in the guestrooms and suites as the design will fuse a sleek, European style with an Arab-Andalusian ambience. Lavish spa bathrooms will be key to the luxury-sanctuary design concept and will include indulgences such as deep-soak baths and rain showers.
A chic restaurant will offer the finest in freestyle cuisine--a concept that combines an excellent chef and dynamic menu based on organic, seasonal ingredients and innovation. The restaurant will seat 85 guests indoors and another 170 guests on the terrace. Other amenities include a banquet and conference center that will be more than 22,000 sq. ft. (2,000 sq. m) and may be accessed vie a dedicated entrance. The 48,000-sq. ft. (4,500-sq. m) Equestrian Club Complex, which Hyatt International also will manage, offers a variety of sports and leisure pursuits.

It should be near completion... has any of you seen it being built guys?
Saudi guy June 19th, 2007, 04:41 PM yah one huge building like palace already completed and many other under construction if i went there i will try to get photo ,i dont know if it's prohibited to take photo there!!?
Saudi Dunes June 19th, 2007, 07:40 PM Park Hyatt Hotels are pretty swanky, or at least in my opinion! Saudi guy you should try to take a couple of really nice photos of the development. I wouldn't see why it would be prohibited..., well unless there's some government facilities in the area. In my experience, if they stop you, just act retarded and be very nice LOL! Security officers are usually pretty nice, they're just diong their jobs.

Saudi guy June 19th, 2007, 11:28 PM loooool there walls i should go inside to take nice photos!!! by the way in same area you can see panorama palace for royal family!!!(the bigest palace on earth),you should drive 15 min by car front it!!!!!
Saudi Dunes June 20th, 2007, 12:52 AM Its pretty interesting to see all these luxury hotels opening up in Jeddah. For a while there the hotel industry in Saudi was pretty much dead. I guess this domestic tourism gig is paying off. They started off with Rosewood's Corniche Hotel, and Qasr Al-Sharq, and now Park Hyatt....pretty exciting! :)
By the way....Saudi Guy, is this the Royal Palace you talk off? Buddy, this thing looks more like a city....jeez, some people know how to live the good life!

Riyadhi June 20th, 2007, 06:23 AM Saudi Dunes,
give me some money and I'll show you how to live a good life :D
ZK June 20th, 2007, 05:08 PM is it Al-Salam Palace?
HiJazzey June 20th, 2007, 07:04 PM Yes it is. Those islands constitute the Salam palace complex, late King Fahad's island paradise. And no, it is not shared with other members of the royal family. They have their own! There's a whole load of beach front palaces further north in the area between the north corniche and south obhur, including King Abdullah's.
I wonder what's going to happen to Salam palace.
Saudi guy June 21st, 2007, 02:10 AM lol i didnt know it called Salam palace!!! i remeber someone in flickr told me he was living in compound in south jeddah i dont know where but maybe in that palace!!!

gohorns June 21st, 2007, 05:05 AM Yes it is. Those islands constitute the Salam palace complex, late King Fahad's island paradise. And no, it is not shared with other members of the royal family. my bad...I thought it was shared...in the sense that it is the residence of the incumbent king (in which case it'd be Abdullah's now) and some other members of the royal family had residences there too...
ZK June 21st, 2007, 08:11 PM So King Abdullah doesn't stay there when he comes to Jeddah?
ZK June 21st, 2007, 08:14 PM So there is Al-Salam in Jeddah, Al-Yammamah in Riyad and Al-Safa in Mecca.....if i m right?
Saudi guy June 22nd, 2007, 02:47 AM ^^yap you are right!
ChaoticTranquility July 28th, 2007, 03:12 AM aloha.
i've scoured the Internet a fair bit, and managed to find some information (and renderings) of the Park Hyatt: the hotel's currently under construction and is planned to open by July 2008, so Jeddah's über-luxury destination is less than a year away from opening. Park Hyatts are the Hyatt Corporation's super-exclusive, ultra-modern, chocolate-on-your-pillow-at-night echelon of hotels; they're known to be rather expensive with top-of-the-line facilities, reputed dining outlets and award-winning service. this place will definitely give Qasr Al Sharq a run for the money.
i'm posting the renderings below; sorry they're not large or high-res, but they're the best i could find so you'll have to make do with them.
enjoy.

DreaM1981 November 7th, 2007, 11:59 AM who is the contractor?
Riyadhi December 25th, 2007, 06:14 AM http://jeddah.park.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp
gohorns December 25th, 2007, 09:05 AM so this is located in...what I would call south (or towards south...umm mid? central?) corniche...close to the intercontinental...right? it makes sense to use that land instead of always having everything in north corniche...even if it is the most prestigious area..
this area used to be prestigious too i guess...before everyone started heading north..but now it's getting some glory back with the PHJ and the other project..
oh that city of water video kicks ass...that would be an awesome plan...it'd clean up alligator lake ;)
Saudi guy December 26th, 2007, 11:46 PM ^^hmmm You know a lot!!!
XP December 27th, 2007, 09:40 AM ^^^^ is that City of Water something of realty... is it gonna happen sometime, or, like the fairytale Tawheed Tower, is it kinda joke, like Riyadhi said once.
