QR20m medical projects coming up in Al Khor

http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/images/June2007/5qr20.jpg

DOHA • Two new medical projects are being established in Al Khor city, through a donation from the family of the late Nasser bin Abdulla Al Misnad.

The projects worth total cost of QR20m are named as the Nasser bin Abdulla Al Misnad Hemodialysis Centre and Aisha bint Ibrahim Al Misnad Pedeatrics Emergency Centre.

The project cost includes HMC's contribution of payment for procurement of medical equipments, said a press release yesterday.

The two projects will be built on a total area of 3980 sqm, adjacent to Al Khor Hospital, as full-fledged centres, with all mechanical, electrical and drainage works, in addition to water supply networks, roads, illumination, green areas and public services places.

Abdulla bin Nasser Al Misnad said the two projects come as a contribution by the family to support health care services at the northern districts.

Al Khor city has been selected as a seat for these projects on the grounds that it was the birthplace of the donor and hometown of the family, besides that it has the largest population density in the northern area.

HMC Chairperson, Dr Latifa Al Houti, said that HMC is thankful for this benevolent initiative taken by the Al Misnad Family. HMC will run these projects, after completion, in a manner that meets the latest global standards.

Nasser bin Abdulla Al Misnad Hemodialysis Centre will cover an area of 2000 sqm, with the capacity of 26 dialysis stations, for both male and female patients, in addition to isolation rooms, private rooms and wings for support services.

Aisha bint Ibrahim Al Misnad Pediatrics Emergency Centre will be built on a total area of 2000 sqm, comprising a reception unit to serve patients and visitors, and a treatment area with an eight- bed observation room and a seven-bed examination/treatment room. This is in addition to radiology unit, laboratory, pharmacy and support services.

The projects were designed by the Engineering Consultant Group, and being implemented by Alsraiya Trading and Contracting Company, under supervision of HMC Engineering Services Department. Construction works are expected to be completed by the end of next month, while works on mechanical, electrical and other services will be completed soon to get the buildings ready for operation, said the release.
