Yes the plots are small in this area but also these are residential towers which means every room has to have a window. This puts a limit on how thick they can be.

Just look at the first picture on the second post. There are walls on both sides of the construction site. Those walls belongs to the podiums of the two towers on the respective sides.

... And to think that the tower on the left (as per the orientation of the picure) is the most exclusive in Dubai yet, with Michael Schumacher and Roger Federer (plus other well known people) among apartment owners.

well most supertall unit blocks in Dubai are basically square/same floor plates 90storeys then you have a decorative top section, be it dome, spire/crown/ ect.
they all look good. im envious. i mean, most range between 300m-400m tall!!just amazing.

The buiding in the second render sort of reminds me of the Chrysler Building

looks good. lmao at the name though "elite residence."

They have now a main contractor on board.

It is the company called ACC that build Rose Rotana Hotel (333 m), the iconic Park Place (236 m) and is currently building: ALMAS Tower (360 m) and PRINCESS Tower (414 m), among other projects.

One of Dubai's ugliest. I think more towers there need to go with more modest designs to acknowledge that they really are just filler. Instead they try to distinguish themselves with all kinds of shiny trappings and wind up being abortions like this.

This no Abortion, this is the post Modern world. Another modernist glass building would just be a filler, unless it's ground breaking in 2007 the truth is it's just filler.

Have to disagree with you guys love the look of this building very old school with modern glass.

On the first render the design looks a bit sleezy. But on the render with the other buildings it servers its right as a good design. This one is going in the marina right?

I think this is one of those who will look much better in real life than on the renders due to its originality.

Still long way to go, but time passes so fast and soon we will have a new supertall almost equalling New York´s Empire State Building !

Wow there just so many towers going up I get surprised each time I discover a new supertall in dubai :S Kinda got the Marina 101 feeling, but still a nice building!

so many at this excavation stage. if you think dubai is sea of cranes now, just wait for next few years.

I was walking around that block last week checking the projects that will finish there, trying to imagine how it will look at the end with those very high tall buildings among the surrounding. this just do the job

I'm not feeling this one, the first render is just hideous, scale model looks alright, I guess you need a couple of average towers and uglys to balance things out

Yeah the initial render made me cringe. Some of the other pics looked better. I like how massive it is, but for some reason it just looks strange. Like a clock tower without a clock...

This tower, princess tower and mariot dubai all remind me of each other because they are all basically oddly coloured very tall boxes with something weird on the top. Oh well, they are part of what makes dubai dubai, i guess.

This building looks like alot of the other building in Dubai. It's like there all interchangeable. Only different about this in the other is the top and the color. Reminds me of the art deco era in NYC. Without the art or the class.

works at princess tower slows down because they cut the manpower during night time, just to compensate the budget that they are receiving from the owner. it's like... more budget more work, less budget less work... simple as ABC.

+3 floors in 1 month... the slender core really pokes out of the podium now.

It seems the workers on the "CORE" are faster than the rest of the building. Should they not slow down on the core so the rest of the building can catch up?

^^ I mentioned this before. It looks a little odd to me ... I mean, it's all core and no building/floors. lol Thing is, has it already slowed down? If not, will it? To allow the floors to catch up. Depends on how fast the floors will rise from here on in I suppose...?

Maybe you could compare the progress of the Infinity Tower !!

... or the sibling Princess Tower (same structural design, same contractors building it, same building technique)

When I was talking with Imre last year, he seemed worried about the congestion on the ground. With such a dense population in one block, there seems to be only one road. Can you imagine trying to leave in your car at 8:00am in the morning (to go to work) with everyone else trying to do the same on the same road? There could be "gridlock" like you never seemed before!!!

I think the progress on this one has been fairly steady. The core did shoot up quick. Constructing the full floors naturally take much longer. Comparing this to Al Attar isn't even close.

This one should be completely done in 2.5-3 years. Top-out may even be possible later next year.

Well, I guess it's a good thing that we do have some kind of progress here, when there is little or nothing happening on so many other projects in Dubai. The floors sure are taking time to construct here but at least it's rising! :)

Progress fairly steady? Yeah, stedily slow. Ok, so it is alot faster than al attar. And I do know that floors take longer. But compare it to the Torch of Infinity Tower, and 3-4 floors in 2-3 months is slow. I think that they are low on $$$$$$$$$ because Princess is also crawling along. If construction continues at 4 floors in 2 months, thats 24 floors a year. Thats almost 4 years to completion which would make a completion date of early 2014. But if progress speeds up, you might be able to knock a year of two off that completion date.:)

Oh, bullshit. It's slow. Lets face it, with a lack of funds, it isn't going to rise that quickly. It was started around the same time as marina 101, and that's almost 30 floors up now. I'm not saying it won't speed up in the future but it's slow for now.:bash:

Yeah, I printed out a paper that showed a picture of the tallest block about 6 months ago or so(give or take a few), and both the torch and princess tower were equal in height at around 35 floors. Now (correct me if I am wrong), I think that the Torch is around 75 floors and Princess Tower is around 60 to the top of the core. Since both Princess and Elite Residence are being built the same company, it is safe to say that they are low on funds, and therefore both projects are slow.:)

Yes, thye podiums of the three towers are joined together and that has always been the plan. Same thing on the other side: Princess, Emirates Crown & Harbour Hotel ... or for the other rows as well.
