NIce Pics HiJAzzey! Its amazing how big Jeddah was in the begining of last centry. Do you know the status of the old buildings?? Are they demolished or still found?

Wow! I haven't seen these old pics before. I'm waiting for the rest of the Hejazi cities. And Hijazzy I wonder if thses old buildings still exist in old Jeddah?

Regarding the old buildings, yes quite a few are still around, but they are in bad condition.

1914 - The mahmal arriving from Cairo. The mahmal was a tradition in the past where the people of Egypt and Syria used to every year send a new covering for the Kaaba and a donation for the upkeep of the holy sites.

i just went to QUOTE hijazeey, to find the URL link of the photos he has posted and then copied that URL into a new window, and i saw the pic,

but now when i come back into THIS thread, i can SEE the same pic (in the thread now) that i just posted its URL into a new window...

That's called HOTLINK! That site doesn't let other sites use its pictures with [IMG] tags or basic html codes.

So the best way is using Imageshack or other image hosting sites.

u can see the pics in the saudi forum, beautifull , and to halawalla some of the buildings are there in downtown jeddah in a block that is preserved.but needs more work on the buildings themselves.
