Yo le encuentro un parecido a las Islas de Vieques y Culebra. Claro esta, las USVI estan mas desarrolladas pues tienen mucho mas poblacion pero estan mas cerca de Vieques y Culebra que la misma isla de Puerto Rico. Cuando fui a las USVI me di cuenta pq a Vieques y Culebra les dicen las Islas Virgenes Espanolas y pq a las USVI las llamaban el Banco (de islas) de Puerto Rico. Muy bellas islas por cierto.

I really doubt they would want to join the US as part of PR,right now they are like they're own tiny nation,if they join PR they would just be 3 more municipalities,plus I'm pretty sure a nice amount of puertoricans wouldn't want them to join us.

Bori, I knew that Caribbean Cinemas and Banco Popular had branches, but didn't know that FirstBank has. I also read that in one of the Virgin Islands (BVI or USVI, I don't really know) Pueblo has a supermarket.

Puerto Rico has a strong presence in the Virgin Islands. Well, after all we are so close. As a matter of fact the distance between Culebra and St. Thomas is less than the distance between Culebra and Puerto Rico.

About the comment of the USVI becoming part of PR as a new state, got a point there Bori. I think the same, although for me, I really don't care if they join us or not.

BTW I love the radio station "The Buzz". Too bad its signal isn't strong enough to cover western Puerto Rico.

Si manka, donde peor se escucha es entre Naguabo y Humacao ... la calidad comparada con La Mega o KQ 105 es malita aunk claro se entiende la musica.

Un punto: la razón por la cual allí no aplican las leyes de cabotaje es porque eso fue parte del acuerdo de compraventa entre Estados Unidos y Dinamarca.

^^ Supongo que fue porque la economía de St. Thomas, tradicionalmente una de las más prósperas del Caribe, siempre había dependido de su estatus como "puerto libre". Dinamarca, un país tradicionalmente neutral, mantenía buenas relaciones con todos los demás y eso le permitía a St. Thomas tener comercio con todos. Me imagino que al traspasar la soberanía a los EE.UU., Dinamarca quiso asegurarse de que los intereses de los comerciantes y ciudadanos de St. Thomas permanecerían protegidos (algo similar a lo que negoció el Reino Unido con China sobre Hong Kong), y pues, pusieron eso como una de las condiciones de la venta.

tengo entendido que en St. Croix esta la poblacion mas grande de puertorriquenos de las 3 islas...creo que sobrepasan los 10,000. Personas que se fueron de PR cuando cerraron las petroquimicas de la Corco y se fueron a trabajar a las petroquimicas de St.Croix

Todo es relativo Sam. Acuerdate que las fotos son mayormente fotos turisticas y en nuestro caso tienes conocimiento sobre el lado no turistico, pero al fin de cuentas todo es mas o menos igual a juzgar por los comentarios de muchas personas que han visitado ambos lugares. Hey I believe in keeping some areas tidy, tourism is big business, but we all know governments should share the wealth and do more public works project like the ones currently undergoing in some of these photos where this road will finally get aqueduct system and end the use of the septic tank on that road.

Misteriosamente, la agua se cambia de azul a verde (y muy notablemente) de camino a San Juan. Aquí se puede observar muy claramente línea rara jeje, díganme si saben qué es.

Uno de los mega Proyectos de Panamá es la limpieza de la bahía que consiste en purificar las aguas negras y lanzarlas 5 millas mar adentro. Así la bahía quedará lista para que las personas se bañen como en el caribe.

Eso no es siendo proactivo y sólo mandando los problemas actuales más mar afuera, no importa si las aguas están "purificadas". Espero que tenga éxito pero sería mejor si se reusara en irrigación o cualquier otro propósito.

Very nice, ideal for sailing.

Tuve la oportunidad de visitar a la isla de St. Thomas y dejame decirte que es preciosa. Cuando tuve la oportunidad de ir era un dia super claro y pude notar en un miradero al norte de la capital de St.Thomas, Charlotte Amalie se puede observar bien opaco y distante a la isla municipio de Vieques. Fui a Google Earth a ver si era de verdad la isla de Vieques el que vi a distante y era exactamente verdad desde el miradero hasta la parte este de Vieques hay aproximadamente entre 29 a 32 millas. Si vaz para la parte oeste de la isla de St.Thomas puedes apreciar clarito la isla de Culebra. Al este se ve la isla de St.John pero desde St.Thomas no se puede observar a la isla de St.Croix ya que es sumamente distante para que el ojo humano pueda captarlo pero si se ve a Vieques (en dias bien claros).
