scproductions June 25th, 2007, 01:08 AM Dunno if this has been posted or not....
With some of the ultimate names in the homewares sector due to open flagship units, Barton Square looks set to fit in perfectly with the £1.6 billion shopping and leisure destination already in place, and is scheduled to open next spring.
Barton Square is a 200,000 sq ft (18,590 sq m) retail development and will adjoin one of the largest shopping destinations in Europe. The £70million Barton Square development will provide a unique shopping environment offering everything for the home. Interest for the scheme from high quality retailers offering luxury products, has been high and discussions are at an advanced stage with various retailers. Barton Square is set to reflect the UK’s increasingly sophisticated tastes for home products and offers an exceptional retail opportunity by creating a development devoted to lifestyle retailing. Barton Square will offer an additional 600 parking spaces to the current 10,000 free parking spaces at The Trafford Centre, and with a number of public transport options, Barton Square will be very easy to access.
The design of Barton Square will mirror the iconic design of The Trafford Centre, with opulent architecture, water features and grand structures. The development will be linked by a glazed bridge to The Trafford Centre and will become an additional key attraction.

Who needs to go to St Mark's Square in Venice when you can go and buy some mass produced 'luxury goods' just off the M60 and pop into ASDA after?
Where are the IRA and their 1000lb bombs when you need them most?

Half a million hit Barton Square
A STAGGERING half a million shoppers have poured into the new Barton Square since its opening 3 months ago, bosses at The Trafford Centre have revealed.
The news comes as two more major high street names joined the Square, with Laura Ashley Home and Natuzzi throwing open their doors this week.
The Trafford Centre's Director of Operations Gordon McKinnon, said: 'The incredible glazed bridge that leads to Barton Square has been thronged with shoppers eager to experience the Barton Square concept.
'Anyone who is looking to remodel a room in their home now has Barton Square as a must-visit destination. Shoppers can see the entire Marks and Spencer home range, and the entire British HOME Stores range within a few steps of each other. Nowhere else offers that variety and convenience.
'In recent weeks, the finishing touches have been put to this breath-taking building. We've spent thousands of pounds on flowering planters, hanging baskets, benches and dozens of life-size marble statues. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the reaction from shoppers is: 'Wow!'
'This is a unique and unparalleled experience for our visitors - and the numbers we're seeing are testament to the power of the concept behind Barton Square. We really believe that the ultimate one-stop shop for home-making is here!'
The luxury British brand Laura Ashley Home has opened it's doors last week. Renowned for designing stylish, innovative and superb quality home furnishings and fashion, Laura Ashley Home adds to the sophisticated international blend at Barton Square with a particularly UK flavour.
Laura Ashley’s charmingly eclectic home collection creates a romantic, whimsical and uniquely British lifestyle mix, as at home in country cottages as city pied a terres - perfectly suited to the famously varied north-west housing stock.
And Italian brand name Natuzzi is welcoming shoppers to it's first Manchester store. Natuzzi is the world’s leading producer of leather sofas and Italy’s largest furniture manufacturer, and has opened a breath-taking retail space which reflects the clean, contemporary lines of it's huge variety of furniture models.
To celebrate the launch of their brand new locations, many of the retailers are currently running special offers and discounts - details can be found in-store.

The Trafford Centre wins big at group awards
30 June 2008
THE Trafford Centre is celebrating this week after it romped home at the prestigious Group Travel Awards to win the hotly contested category of Best Town or Shopping Centre for Groups.
The Awards are the annual celebration of the very best suppliers to the group travel industry. Each year the group travel organiser readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine are asked to vote for who they think are the best suppliers in more than 20 categories.
The Trafford Centre beat stiff competition at a glittering ceremony in London, beating entries from Bluewater in Kent, The Bullring in Birmingham, Lakeside in Essex, Milton Keynes and City of York.
Coach tour organisers across the UK voted in their droves for The Trafford Centre, which is consistently recognised as one of the most welcoming and well-organised group travel destinations in the country.
Director of Operations Gordon McKinnon said: ‘'The Trafford Centre puts great effort into offering fresh and exciting attractions for our thousands of group visitors. From the luxury dining experience at The Great Hall, to the breath-taking homewares development at Barton Square, we believe we remain one of the most creative and forward-thinking shopping destinations in Europe.
‘Our figures show that 2007 was the best year since 2002 for annual coach visits, 3.2% up on 2006 (9% up on 2004). In 2007 almost 200,000 visitors came to the Centre by coach and our annual coach figures have increased year on year for the last 4 years.
‘Working in conjunction with the new Trafford Quays Leisure Village provides lots of scope when it comes to planning itineraries, and great variety for a full weekend away from home.
‘Meanwhile, pre-booked groups to The Trafford Centre continue to receive a variety of benefits, including our famous Meet and Greet service on-board upon arrival, discount voucher booklets and meal and cinema vouchers for drivers and group organisers.
‘To have this fantastic offer recognised by the discerning readers of Group Travel Magazine is a great reward indeed. Our greatest reward is knowing that we still lead the way in attracting coach tours to our unique destination.’
